Mission: The mission of the northern california tribal ccourt coalition is to promote and strengthen tribal justice systems to restore balance and order in our communities, while honoring sovereignty and cultural values.
Target demographics: Tribal Courts of the
Geographic areas served: Humboldt, Del Norte, and Siskiyou Counties
Programs: Advocacy: NCTCC has partnered with Rural Human Services and member Tribes to develop Tribal Court forms and training for victim advocates.
domestic abuse prevention: NCTCC has developed regional Domestic Abuse Prevention Access Centers in Smith River, Crescent City, Hoopa Valley, Weitchpec, and Orleans, California and developed a dedicated regional Tribal Domestic Violence Court and Cultural Batterer Intervention Program. NCTCC maintains an Appellate Court that hears appeals from its six member Tribes: Karuk Tribe, Hoopa Valley Tribe, Yurok Tribe, Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation, Trinidad Rancheria, and Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria.
