This charity is all about adoption fees and donations. It should be about finding safe healthy homes for their dogs. I do not recommend supporting or donating to this rescue. They are rude, unprofessional and should not be allowed to conduct such business. Instead, support your local shelters!

The board member review is a clown post.

The other reviewer is on point. This is not a rescue organization that looks to give the dogs to the best home- it looks for stupid requirements and responds to people they know.

I’ve know dozens of people without fenced yards who’ve fostered dozens of dogs and they won’t so much as reply to them. Dozens of dogs- and for some reason this organization deems then not a good fit. Imagine that, they think they are smarter than everyone else.

Save yourself the time and don’t reach out, don’t donate money. Find another organization please.

In response to the previous review left by pderman:
NEBTR is not a shelter. NEBTR places dogs in loving homes where they are brought back to health and assessed for behavior. Some dogs stay in foster for 2 weeks, some for years due to medical problems.
Because NEBTR knows that the foster home knows the dog being fostered in their home the best, NEBTR gives the foster home the final say in where the dog is adopted.
Dogs in our rescue are not given to who comes first. It's an orderly process, where the foster home contacts the approved applicant that meets the dog's needs. If another applicant comes along after another applicant has been contacted, it's only fair to wait until the first applicant contacted replies to the adoption offer. This sometimes takes a few weeks as they might want to schedule a meet and greet before committing to an adoption.
The rescue is all about the dogs and their happiness. A forever home should be just that, forever.

I applied to adopt a Boston Terrier and was told he was being held for another 10 days for another person who may or may not want to adopt him. I was ready to adopt him today but was told I could not. I was told they do not hold dogs its a first come first serve. Yet they continue to leave his profile up on their website.
This organization made it very difficult to adopt this pet, they were willing to let this dog stay in rescue for another week and a half when he could have had a home immediately.
NEBTR gets a thumb down from me. I'm very sad as I would have given this pup a fantastic life and a wonderful home. I will go elsewhere for a pup
