I have been a member of the NSYMCA for over 30 years. When my children were young they participated in many activities at the Y. My 38 year old son now uses the Y to train for his Ultra Marathons.
I played squash and now Spin and use the cardio machines.
The Y has always been a very special place for me & my family, like it has been for so many other families. It is much more than a fitness club. It is a place to call home
The NSYMCA is a center of this community and provides facilities and services for many communities in the north and northwest suburbs. This organization is always striving to help the people of these communities with programs and entertainment events throughout the year. For example, the NSYMCA just purchased a second accessible van to allow it to transport even more people to events at the Y and elsewhere. The summer camp is the best in Chicagoland, with many campers in need receiving scholarships to attend.
The NSYMCA has been around for as long as I can remember, it is been a long standing part of the community. As I child I attended camp there. As a teen It provided a place for our youth group. It is welcoming to all and provides great programs for all.
I recently started becoming more involved as an adult and joined the board to make sure others were able to have some of the same experiences I had.
I have been a member for over 25 years - since I moved to Northbrook. Never seriously considered moving to another facility because the Y has everything I need and supports a lot of social and educational programs for all ages that make a difference in our community. They do a great job on a not very big budget.
My children have been attending summer camp at the NSYMCA since they were in preschool. They absolutely love it. There are a lot of options for different Specialty Camps, including Lego camp, STEM camp and Sports camp. The staff at the Y is caring and fun and has fostered self esteem and confidence in my children. We're so grateful for the Y and everything they do for our community!
As a member of the North Suburban YMCA, I know that I belong to something bigger! This Y provides access for all regardless of ability to pay and addresses programmatic needs related to challenges in our ow community. From youth development to chronic health to family engagement and social responsibility, the NSYMCA makes me proud to belong.
Currently, I'm trying their new weight loss program the and have lost 6 pounds and feel great! The support I receive from the staff and members is encouraging and uplifting. The NSYMCA is my happy, healthy place in this world!
