Programs: Protect and advance the quality of care for patients and to advocate on their behalf with managed care organizations, hospital systems, and other health care organizations and agencies. Maintain the traditional freedom and integrity of medical practice. Serve as an ombudsman and advocate for physicians in their dealings with government agencies, managed care organizations, hospitals and other entities. Foster cooperation between all community physicians to enhance and ensure their professional and economic success. Advocate for fair contract terms with managed care organizations, intergrated networks, government programs and other practice opportunities. Assist members with practice efficiencies vis a vis management expertise and services including compliance with government regulations, purchasing alliances, billing and collection services, computer systems, legal services, telecommunications, and such other services to practice cost- efficient medicine. Educate and brief member physicians and the public about socio-economic and political matters which impact on the practice of medicine and the delivery of medical care.
