Mission: We believe that all deserve adequate food, housing and respect. We assist our neighbors in obtaining basic needs that affirm their human dignity and self worth.
Programs: Food bank: north helpline food bank operates 2 food bank sites. The food bank in lake city distributes food every wednesday, thursday, and saturday. The food bank in bitter lake opened in july of 2017 and distributes food every saturday. In 2017 clients visited the food banks 80,612 times and north helpline distributed food equivalent to over 1,350,000 meals.
emergency services: emergency services (es) provides financial assistance to prevent eviction and utility shut offs. Clients can also access hygiene supplies, sanitary supplies, diapers, baby food, detergent and referrals to other agencies. In august of 2017 north helpline added a community connector to the es staff. The community connector assists clients enrolling in benefits and connecting to resources. There were approximately 4,300 client visits during the year. Emergency services operates 4 days per week and the community connector is on site 5 days per week.
