My children were rising kindergartners when I first visited the CDA. We had spent more money than I imagined we would sending them to a quality pre-K, which I think is every parent's reality ("We have to spend WHAT?..."). But, my husband and I could afford it. So off my chidren went to be prepared for elementary school and we didn't think about it again.

HERE IS WHAT'S SO REMARKABLE ABOUT THE CDA: 1 ) This school is every bit as good - if not better - than the one I paid so highly to send my children. 2) It's AFFORDABLE to the most vulnerable families in our society. And research shows that early childhood education can break the cycle of poverty. Our gracious donors and sponsors make this possible, and it is such a treasure for our community.

I have been on the board at the CDA for 5 years. The CDA does an excellent job of focusing on the mission of early childhood education which translates into brighter futures for the children. My father was deaf, he was passed along from class to class, it wasn't until he was in HS that he was put into a deaf school. He had a 4th grade reading/comprehension level in 10th grade and caught up in two years because of the right environment. Its all about the right environments for our children.

Having been a member of the Child Development Association for six years, I have been and continue to be impressed with the consistent growth, in the services provided for it very deserving clients, disadvantaged pre-schoolers. The evolution of the organization in developing programs which have raised the level of the services provided as well as the quality of the staff has insured that the CDA remains relevant in the early childhood area.

Every child needs affordable daycare if their parents need to work! It's a double plus if your child gets the very best top rated learning program too! The CDA is NAEYC-accredited (National Association for the Education of Young Children), the highest level of accreditation available to any education program, with a curriculum committed to preparing children to be “ready by five” for school success. Our community is lucky to have the CDA. I love what we stand for:Best Start! Brightest Future! Every Child!

The CDA is the sweetest school for our little ones in North Fulton. Quality childcare that is also affordable is almost impossible to find but we have such a treasure here with the CDA. The staff loves and cares for each child and the education is stellar as well. Highly rated and special accreditations that even most of the very expensive childcare centers can’t boast about.

The CDA has been providing early childhood education for children of the working poor for 50 years. Over 140 kids are in the CDA's school every year and the are receiving services from one of the few organizations in metro Atlanta that has received the highest rating from both accrediting organizations in Georgia, NAYCE and the State.

It has a committed staff, a committed board and is one of the most admired institutions in the Roswell/Alpharetta area.

I have volunteered and been a board member of this organization for more than 10 years. I never intended to be on the board so long, but I have not found another organization that makes such a profound different in so many lives. The CDA provides excellent education to preschool and pre-k children that enables them to be more successful in grade school and beyond. Educating children can change the trajectory of their lives. It has a multiplier effect on the family and the community. The CDA doesn't merely provide a good early learning environment is it EXCELLENT! Very few preschools are NAECY accredited and Three Star Quality Rated. These represent the highest levels of accreditation available to preschools and are evidence of the level of care and instruction delivered by the CDA. Most of the staff and teachers are long-tenured because of the great working environment and their ability to see the difference they make in the lives of the children. Likewise, many of the board members are long-tenured for the same reason. What an incredible organization!

I have been associated with the CDA for over a year now. One of the things that continually strikes me is the amount of attention and focus paid to each child as an individual. Yes, they are in a classroom with several children but each child's developmental needs are factored into the daily schedule, curriculum, and experience.

Another wonderful component to the children learning is the opportunity for the parents to be very involved with the education and development of their children. The CDA offers a program that brings parents in to participate in the teaching and learning for the children...talk about reinforcement...

There is no cookie-cutter approach to learning at the CDA. These children get what I believe to be a better and stronger beginning for the future than most children. I can't say enough good things about the CDA. I'm proud to be associated with such a fine organization!

Whenever I visit the CDA, I am blown away by the happy demeanor and orderly behavior of the CDA kids as they participate in a continuous learning experience. Inspired teaching is at work in the classrooms, the cafeteria, the award-winning playground, and in even the most casual interactions. It's no wonder that low-income working parents spend, on average, 20 percent of their income to give their children have this level of early childhood education. The CDA has a profound impact on young lives.

The CDA gives kids a great start at a crucial time in their development, helping build a foundation for learning that will empower them for the rest of their lives. A nurturing environment, outstanding curriculum, visionary leadership, and culturally diverse student body put this non-profit put this early education program on par with the finest in the state. Low-income working parents pay, on average, 20 percent, of their annual income to ensure their kids get the high quality education provided by the CDA. Walking through the school building, you see learning taking place everywhere -- in the halls, in the dining room, and in the visually stimulating classrooms -- all in a happy, positive, upbeat atmosphere. A CDA board member for four years, I feel uplifted and enriched every time I visit this gem of a school. In the past year, the CDA has expanded into the community through the Parents as Teachers outreach program, which teaches non-CDA parents how to take an active role in helping the developing brain to grow.

When I want my precious charitable dollars to make a difference in the lives of children with tremendous potential I joyfully give to the Child Development Association. After having toured and spent time visiting several preschools, in Georgia, California, and Hawaii, I would entrust the CDA with my preparing my children to be future academic leaders. It is the combination of invested leadership, with experience and natural talent, an engaged Board, and teachers which are constantly improving their teaching skills which makes the CDA a charity to consider for your charitable legacy. My business centers around helping people protect and transfer assets to their loved ones. This often includes working closely with charities who are the beneficiaries. Of the charities I have worked with over the years, very few work as effectively to improve the lives of women and children like the Child Development Association. By adhering to the highest quality of education for the children of working mother's the CDA is investing in a bright future for everyone. I can't recommend more highly learning more about the good work they do.

THe North FUlton Child Development Association is, in my view, a unique and highly effective organization. It addresses , in a holistic fashion, the problem of high quality, affordable child care for the working poor, as well as supprt for the entire family unit to help break the cycle of welfare, poor performance in schools, lack of basic english language skills, and so forth. It incents parents to take advantage of and accountability for building skills for themselves as well as their children. I am so proud of the measurable results that I have seen out of this organization over the 12 years that I have either served on the board of trustees or as a key supprter . This is a place where you can be certain that your time, talent, and donations make both an immediate AND a sustainable, long term positie impact in the quality of life, education, and futures of so many children and their families in our hometown.

I've been involved in this organization for the past 6 years. Love everything they do. The children are educated in a loving environment where they learn important social and academic skills as well as a love for learning. The families are supported by many additional programs offered by the center. Any child would be lucky to attend there!

I lead an annual fundraiser that donates to the CDA. As one of our major charities I felt that I should get to know the organization better. The mission of the CDA is very clear and resonates throughout their organization. I was beyond impressed with the facility and staff. I could actually feel the happiness as I toured the facility. It is one of the most well run non profits in Georgia.

The CDA provides an outstanding educational environment for pre-school age children, giving them a great start as they enter Elementary School. Not only does CDA ensure that the children are ready to begin school on a level playing field, they also provide financial assistance so that parents are able to afford to have their children attend the Child Development Association. Although the educational program is outstanding and deserves applause, what CDA does for families is equally important. It provides a safe environment for the children where they receive nutritious meals, learn social skills as well as academic skills, and gives struggling families who are working hard to provide for their children peace of mind while they work, knowing their children are exceptionally well-cared for.

Two things stand out to me about the CDA: the quality of their programs and the quality of the people who lead and run them. The CDA is an exemplary organization doing really important work in North Fulton County. Their investment into the children of low-income families is valuable now. But the real value will be experienced years from now. They are changing the trajectory of the lives of the kids they serve, giving them a strong educational and developmental head start. Not only that, but they are equipping the parents to do the same.

CDA is a benchmark in excellence for providing high-quality child care to low-income children at risk for academic and social struggles if not for its focus on early literacy and pre-school education for its youngest citizens.
