Programs: Alcohol and drug rehabilitation - using information gathered during the initial screening and assessment procedure, counselors help residents to develop individual treatment/recovery plans tailored to their needs, strengths, skills and history. Each plan addresses needs in areas of alcohol and drug rehabilitation, job training, personal development, parenting, education, health issues, domestic violence, relationships, social development, and other areas. Ncsh residential treatment services - ncsh center is a 120 bed residential facility that serves women & women with children who wish to recover from drug or alcohol dependence. We also recognize the importance of serving those clients with co-occurring mental health issues. Our program utilizes a strong basis in the 12-step traditions to help our women establish a stable, lasting base of support as they begin their journey of recovery. Non-residential treatment - non-residential treatment program provides comprehensive outpatient treatment to low-income, pregnant, and parenting women (age 18 and over). Programs range from an intensive day treatment program (five days a week, six hours a day), to an evening outpatient program (t, w, th, 3 hours an evening), and a 12 week aftercare program (one day a week for 1 1/2 hours). Ncsh non-residential treatment serves about 150 women per year. Friendship house sober living - friendship house has the following features to help clients maintain a sober lifestyle: a 10 bed female sober living environment and live-in resident coordinator available for support and emergencies. At an affordable price, women live in our newly renovated sober living home with new flooring, new paint, new beds and linens and a functioning kitchen. We offer an internet connection for those residents needing to do job searches. Cable tv, utilitles, coin operated laundry room, iron and ironing board are included for their convenience. Fruit trees and a resident garden area are available for residents' use. Serenity village transitional housing - the facility opened in 2007 for women and women with children. The site offers 8 houses - each are 3 bedroom, 3 bath with a community kitchen, dining and living areas in an effort to promote the transition out of care. Self-sufficiency classes are a mandatory part of our transitional housing and include budgeting/finance, job seeking skills, parenting, housing, and "big book" recovery. Tenants are eligible to stay in transitional housing for up to 24 months.

children and education - ncsh operates a california state licensed, subsidized child development center. This child development center serves unique children that have a number of challenges facing them, most common from families burdended with poverty, substance abuse, and little formal education. Our center can serve up to 76 children at one time from birth through five years of age. Through inner agency collaboration, we provide comprehensive child development services to over 100 children annually. We are an approved preschool for all sites with enhanced services that help children to successfully transition to kindergarten.
