"The feeling of heartfelt support and caring radiates throughout this organization. From our initial experience walking in the door our family was welcomed, heard and cared for with our immediate needs being met and connections with additional services addressed. From the volunteers to the staff everyone treated my family with dignity and respect, listened to our situation without judgement and provided a sense of honest compassion. We are now making headway in our situation and seeing a ray of hope at the end of the tunnel because of the care they have provided to us in our time of need." Thank you for being there for us!
I, and other seniors in my neighborhood, am thankful for North County Community Foodbank's service to all members of the community and in particular seniors. We were raised to be independent and resolve challenges on our own. However, there are times when many seniors need help. The care and compassion with which NCCFB provides its services makes all feel welcome and valued.

A mission of North County Community Food Bank is to break the cycle of poverty through education and in particular education of children. They address this in a number of venues including nutrition and cooking classes and summer life skills camps for low income young people. Youth make up 41% of NCCFB's clients. The effort to break the cycle of poverty must include a strong emphasis and focus on educating and exposing youth to the prospects and opportunities beyond poverty. They are doing this.
The North County Community Food Bank is innovative and committed to the entire North Clark County. It is the Best!!

I’ve been volunteering at NCCFB about 2 years. It’s a wonderful place to be able to give back to the community. The customers are very thankful and happy to have such an awesome place providing food and household needs. Please consider donating any small amount to help your community. Thanks.
I work for Kraemer's Nursery in Mt Angel Oregon. I have known Liz Ceverny , the director of the food bank since high school. The nursery had a large quantity of blueberry bushes that were destined for the dump pile so I gave Liz a call to see if we could donate to the food bank. She came out and filled the van with plants and handed them out to the bank recipients to plant in their gardens. Win/Win all around and the cause is so very important to us in the nursery industry. Food insecurities are real and these are desperate times for our friends and neighbors. Please consider donating to food banks, we are all in this together.

Very often you see programs such as these just meeting status quo, but North County Community Food Bank, breaks through the ceiling and absolutely blows away any pre conceived notions one may have about places in this line of business.
Not only is this an exceptional and fun and interactive place to volunteer your time towards, but it's an amazing food bank, that offers much more than your run of the mill one, from commodities, to food and even local resources for those in need.
Jake and Liz the proprietors of the establishment are beyond understanding and completely professional, while simultaneously being extraordinarily personable towards all peoples issues and hardships on both the volunteer and client side.
as soon as you set foot in the door, you realize this place operates on love and passion for the community and those around it and lets not take away from the outstanding volunteer team out here, who demonstrate the most selfless tendencies, bringing joy and happiness to all those around them.
The level of fulfillment and tranquility one can reach from volunteering here, cannot be put into words and these few words I have said do not do them justice, so come by and check it out for yourself and see what kind of a difference you can make in your community.

NCCFB in Battleground, WA goes beyond providing food to disadvantaged people in the area. Liz and Jake work hard to create a place where every client is viewed as a unique person with specific needs. It is not uncommon for them to provide referrals and advice on housing, medical and dental care, and employment, in additional to providing for the daily and weekly food needs of the community.

The North Community Food Bank has served the area since the 1980's, always improving to meet the growing needs of those in need. The many volunteers who make the organization what it is are truly the lifeblood that connects which each of those that are served. The number of individuals and families needing the NCCFB's services has never been higher. They have added community gardening, nutritious cooking, healthy tastings and recipe sharing, shopping on a budget educational courses and so many other creative resources and activities that really make a positive difference. The organization provides a much needed resource to individuals throughout North County.
Great people helping the community. There is a diverse group of volunteers who pull together as a team to provide care, dignity and understanding to those in need. Amazing level resources available to connect each of these individuals to the services they need.
Helping neighbors is what the Food Bank is all about. Here in Battle Ground under the guidance of Liz Cerveny and Jake Smith our community can rest assured that if ever they are in need the Food Bank will be here to help them for however long they need it. I have been here for 10 years and it has been a rewarding experience getting to know the community. besides giving immediate help to people with food . We are a treasure trove of information whatever the need, from cooking classes to learning how to grow your own vegetables. Stop in and say hello or sign up to volunteer you are always welcome.
My experience has been wonderful Well run, empathetic staff and volunteers. We treat our clients as our family- I have met many new people, I have enjoyed them all in different ways. My heart is filled with love each day, I look so forward to going to work, and spending time with my other family. There are lots of new friends and old friends that we see on a daily basis. I would encourage others to volunteer and join our friendly family of staff and meet these wonder clients. A heart warming experience !
i VOLUNTEER AT THE FOOD BANK. i CAN ONLY SAY THAT IT HAS BEEN A JOY TO WORK HERE.
WAY PATRONS ARE TREATED IS VERY RESPECTFUL. iT IS A TEAMWORK ATTITUDE.
the STAFF THAT MANAGES THE FOOD BANK IS PROFESSIONAL AND GOES BEYOND EXPECTATIONS OF A NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION MADE TO SERVE THE PUBLIC DSTRIBUTING FOOD TO OUR COMMUNITY,
I have been volunteering at NCCFB for a couple of years now. It's a great place to be able to work and give back to the community. The folks that volunteer here are very friendly, very much a "family" atmosphere! Everyone shares their great ideas on how to make the food bank work better for all of our clients.
I was a former foster parent and manager at an assisted living facility for developmentally disabled before coming to the north county community food bank. I believed in the cause, but wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I found more respect and dignity shown to clients from volunteers here than from paid employees at my previous job. I found volunteers working harder here than paid employees at almost all of my former jobs. This little family is incredible, and serve the community with hearts of gold on their sleeves. This is not just about giving people a meal, this truly is about bettering the community; meeting people where they are at, thinking outside of the box, and getting them connected with the resources they need to turn their current situation into a positive one.
The NCCFB is a remarkable food pantry. It’s friendly storefront beckons all to enter. Once inside one is welcomed with brightly painted rooms, shelves displaying fresh produce, fruit, rice, beans, soups and bakery items. It is like stepping into a small family market where there’s a smile for everyone and where everyone helps one another. Kind and caring volunteers assist clients with their shopping while sharing a laugh or two. A visit there is a very positive and upbeat experience.
That is only the beginning. The NCCFB provides information about food preparation and meal planning. It hosts cooking classes and food tastings that offer samples and related recipes of healthy meals made with items available in the pantry.
This is a snapshot description of the Food Bank and certainly captures only a small piece of what it provides the people of north county community. It offers much more than food assistance. It offers friendship and acceptance.

The North County Community Food Bank is a shining star among nonprofits. The food bank itself provides critical resources for the clients with a well-organized food pantry which provides well balanced choices of fresh and preserved foods. Helpful recipes with nutritional information are easily available. The Pantry is a friendly, clean and efficient space for clients of any age to access. In my observations over the past years, it is not uncommon for the clients to express their appreciation for the Food Bank and Volunteers.
Additionally, this organization will sponsor/conduct classes and workshops which educates their client base on food handling, preparation, nutritional content as well as cooking healthy and budget friendly meals for small or large families.
Lastly, the NCCFB has an amazing group of Volunteers who have sincere care, concern and respect for the clients and organization. The energy there is contagious and a showcase for other community organizations to follow.

I have been a volunteer at the North County Food Bank in Battle Ground, WA, for just over 2yrs and I have found it to be one of the best choices I have made.
Not only do the staff and fellow volunteers genuinely care for and have respect for each other AND, most importantly, for the clients, but, the rapport, teamwork and laughter shared with all who give to and receive from there is an experience that cannot be measured.
Thank you, North County Food Bank for being there.
What I love about the NCCFB is the focus on the clients and the commitment to the community. Besides providing food for the immediate need, NCCFB works to help clients gain knowledge and life skills to help them with their future success. The Seeds to Supper Program, the Healthy Cooking Classes and the community programs for kids are all examples of the way NCCFB works with the community to help eliminate the barriers many of their clients face.
I love working at the food bank, especially when kids come in. The bank uses my people and organizing skills to the max. The directors are very supportive and approachable, interacting with clients, donors and volunteers with equal grace and courtesy. hey always approach the day with a "we can do " attitude despite the lack of space and sometimes volunteers. They create an attractive facility inside and out often out of their own pocket. .
North County Food Bank is a nonprofit that our family has been supporting since it's inception. Until a year ago our support was limited to donated food and funds. Since retiring I now have time to donate time. It is a privilege to work with such professionals as Liz and lisa, the director and volunteer director. They go out of way to make the food bank an attractive and inviting place to work and shop with little or no budget for such niceties,as flower baskets and benches for our clients. They always maintain a calm demeanor. They often have no control over volunteer abscences, food delivery, community donations or when our customers will come to shop. Despite so many unknowns they prepare, make do and behave graciously and warmly with customers, donators and volunteers alike. They set a great example by helping in emergencies, often taking on the most tedious of tasks. Despite the vast range of volunteer abilities and personalities they create tight knit teams that support one another and the mission of the North County Food Bank.
This Food Bank does so much with so little.
The only two paid individual, Liz Cervany, the Ex. Director and Lisa Bechtold, her assistant, do the work of 5 or 6 employees.
That are constantly praising and assisting the volunteers, who selflessly devote their time.
How this Food Bank is able to do what they do with the limited space and income is beyond the Board’s expectation.
This operation needs to move into bigger facilities and therefore needs all the financial help they can get.
I am new to the area, and newly retired from a very stressful career in emergency nursing. Volunteering here is a great way to help people in need, while also meeting people in my new home town in a low stress environment. The clients are very grateful to have nutritious food available and greeted by cheerful volunteers. Recently we changed the practice so that the clients can choose the type of food that they want, which allows them some autonomy and better meets any special dietary needs.

I've been a volunteer at the NCFB for just over two years and have thoroughly enjoyed the staff, clientele and other volunteers. It has been a great joy to work with others who are committed to helping our community, whether working in the back stocking shelves, filling orders, taking in donations from willing givers, or working the in front with clients or helping them to their cars. Everyone helps, and helps each other. The time there flies by, and it is rewarding knowing that you are helping those in need at a critical time in their lives. I am so thankful that our community is organized in such a way as to fully utilize our abundance to help those who can really use it.
North County Community Food Bank does such an amazing job serving our community. From a small building it does MIGHTY things. My personal mission is NO KID HUNGRY and NCCFB is a major factor in my mission-they even have kids cooking classes!

I have been involved with the NCCFB since the mid 80's when I was asked to haul commodities from Vancouver to Battle Ground. I've seen the volunteers working year after year donating time and effort to those that need some assistance. Volunteers are the backbone of many organizations and the NCCFB continues to cultivate and recognize the volunteers for the major part they play in helping the community
I have had the honor to serve alongside the North County Community Food Bank staff and volunteers several times. Each time, I am thoroughly impressed with the level of care, compassion, and love offered to clients as they are served. NCCFB knows their community and is able to engage with and serve clients where their true needs lie.
Thanks for all of your work in the North County area.
The North County Community Food Bank is a tremendous asset to the Battle Ground / North Clark County area. As the need continues to grow, the staff, volunteers, and Executive Director work relentlessly to provide food for those in need, and the help doesn't stop there. Their commitment to the individual is evident in how they strive to assist people in the everyday challenges of life. The efforts of the food bank go above and beyond to help people in a wide variety of areas: nutrition, education, health, finances, giving back, volunteering, to name a few - makes them so much more than a food bank. It really defines their effort to end hunger and to break the cycle of poverty that is so easy for some to get caught in. Great organization!
I have had the distinct pleasure to work with this energetic and dedicated group of people who serve the North County Community. They are the hardest working group you will find anywhere! The staff and crew are there every day for those in need, gathering food and items essential to those served. Taking time to provide services, counseling if needed and so much more. Assisting everyone who comes through the door with no questions asked and smiles in abundance. If you have garden produce available, drop it by, they'll make the distributions and make a HUGE difference in the local community.
This is a very well respected nonprofit serving low income individuals throughout North Clark County Washington. Operated by volunteers and two staff who are very caring, respectful and efficient while serving thousands of individuals every year, Monday through Friday. They are extremely creative in how they offer healthy pantry tastings each month, nutritious cooking courses, educational activities for low income youth, partnering with others in the community to provide school supplies and backpacks to children in need, and the many other things they provide in the community throughout the year. Great group to get involved with as a volunteer, donor or supporter.
After 'retiring', North County Community Food Bank was my first volunteer experience. It is the best of everything for volunteers. We actually get to interact one on one with clients we help, our ideas and suggestions are immediately taken up with the staff, the volunteers work together as a team and become fast friends. The amount of work and product that we are inspired to get accomplished is truly amazing. As a volunteer, it is fulfilling, fun and we look forward to helping NCCFB a grow!
The leadership and volunteers at North County Community Food Bank do their vital work with excellence, care, compassion, and efficiency. For many, it is a near thankless job of serving some of the most overlooked members of our community. But clearly nobody here is in it for the praise, they do so out of a desire to make a difference in the lives of others -- to which I say wow! We so appreciate an organization like this leading the way to help people!
North County Community Food Bank is a wonderful place where people can go and get help without the fear of being judged or treated poorly. The staff and volunteers are hard working humble people who truly just want to make a difference. They really do help the people of North Clark County!
I have been involved with North County Community Food Bank for about 10 years as a volunteer, board member and community member. They are an organization that leads with compassion and kindness to others while utilizing their resources as efficiently as possible. I am excited to partner with them in the future to help fight hunger in North County
I have always enjoyed volunteering at my local schools, church or community. I moved to the northwest nine years ago to join family that already lived in Hockinson and brought with me my 2nd daughter and 2 grandsons. From the very beginning I was hearing about the food bank in Battle Ground and always with positive comments. It took awhile but when my schedule allowed some free time and encouragement from long time food bank volunteer Peggy Kirkman, I decided to join the group. What a rewarding experience it has been. Since I first walked through the door 2 years ago, every week I am amazed at the commitment to the community by the people that I work with. It starts with the dedication of Liz and Carol and just flows out from there..... and it is so very, very contagious. The whole focus is getting the food out to those in need and what a great job everyone does. The compassion and dignity that is shown to all that come for assistance is always a major priority and what a blessing that is to see. God willing I pray I will be able to volunteer for many years to come. Maureen Byrne

I have been a volunteer at the NCCFB since I moved to Battle Ground a little over two years ago. I have worked with much larger food banks, such as Four Square, but they don't come close to the sincere compassion and sense of community that comes from the staff at North Clark County, WA. By working there and greeting clients as they check in, I have had an opportunity to get to know them by their first name. If they don't show up for several weeks, I worry about them and pray for them. Some older senior clients can't see well or don't know what some of the produce items are, or how to prepare them. We are glad to help them with selections and answer questions and they are most appreciative.
I have watched the organization grow so much the building is overcrowded and ready to split at the seams. However, the staff and volunteers just keep on pushing through to serve our clients. For many people in the community, it is their only source of nutrition.
I think of my volunteer efforts as something I am blessed to do. I love how people in the community, church and schools as well as other civic and philanthropic groups come together to help others in need.
NCCFB is a great organization that believes in changing lives one meal at a time. I have been a volunteer since 1992 and a board member since 1996 and believe in this organization. The people who work and volunteer for this organization are truly an inspiration to all who live and work in this community.
This food Bank has been feeding people in North Clark County for many years and is a very vital part of the health of our Community. We have a very dedicated staff and volunteers that work wonders in handing out food and caring for people.
North County Food Bank is a wonderful resource. I volunteer there twice a week and enjoy everyone I meet there volunteers and clients.
An outstanding group of people who care about the community they serve. The volunteers know the people in the community, local government supports the group and almost all the service organizations in the community either support the food bank with volunteers, money or both. Thankfully I have not needed the food bank services, but have been lucky to give time, food and supplies to them. I have worked alongside the food bank staff and am amazed by their efforts and vitality.
The NCCFB is one of the best organizations in the area.

I have been on the board of NCCFB for three years and fully believe in this organization. It is vital to our community and the need has increased tremendously through the last couple years. We have a great staff and amazing volunteers that do so much with so little. The board and volunteers are very committed to the success of the organization.

I have volunteered and served as a board member for the North County Community Food Bank for close to 2 years now. I actually learned about the food bank from my Rotary Club. Our local Rotary clubs sponsor many food drives, donate money and every year we put on a children's Christmas Party for the families that we serve. I have personally seen the needs and the results. I cannot think of a better non-profit to be involved with. There is so much hunger in this world. We are all aware of that. But do you realize that it also exists in your own community? It does and much more than you can imagine. No child should ever go to bed hungry or go to school and try to learn on an empty stomach. The economy today has put a very big strain on our food banks, people tend to cut back on their donations, yet the needs list grows. Please help support the North County Community Food Bank by calling 360-687-5007 We can provide you with information regarding donations, food drives or if you know of someone in need in our area, we will be happy to answer your questions.
Thank you

NCCFB is the heartbeat of our community. For years I've put my volunteer energy and resources into NCCFB because I see it translating our efforts directly into results. By continually finding ways to not just feed people, but help them get back on their feet, NCCFB connects us all and makes the whole community stronger. Everyone needs help sometimes and everyone learns to give. That's what NCCFB does for us, and we'd all be much poorer without it.

Changing lives one meal at a time!
I have volunteered at the NCCFB for over ten years and fill the food boxes and re-stock the shelves.
Our caring for each other as a community goes way beyond the food we give out! in
Today for example I will deliver a bag of clothes my son outgrew to a grandmother who is raising her 12 old grandson. The joy I will get to see on his face will make my day!!! These clothes are well used and yet to him they represent a chance to look "cool" and share what my son has enjoyed! This grandmother is letting me sign my name on a card and be included in a gift she is giving to Theresa for the passing of her mother-in-law. The service is open to us all and set for this coming Saturday.
Volunteers and clients alike share our small town of Battle Ground. We know and care about each other. We see each other at the post office, gas station and hardware store. We help each other out in ways that go way beyond the monthly food box. We are all truly friends!!!
I would not have met any of these wonderful people if I were not a volunteer at NCCFB! I love to go in and volunteer. I consider the volunteers and staff and client as some of my best friends! If I ever needed their help I know they would be right there for me. We care a lot about each other in our small town.
Our NCCFB allows all of this to happen. Without this organization I don't know how all of the people who depend on our help would make it through their hard times!!!
Our food bank is extra special. I better close now because the young grandson is waiting for me to deliver his latest bag of "new " clothes!
Sincerely, Elaine Nibley

I know that if
NCCFB is a marvelous organization that works wonders in the community. Not only does the food bank provide healthy food to those in need but the director, staff & board also work to bring the community together to overcome the great need. Churches, schools, organizations and individuals all work to help our neighbors in need. NCCFB nutures those relationships.
As a volunteer that fills food boxes, I've seen many families in need find some relief from the strain of "not enough": not enough meat, vegetables, bread, eggs, cereal, etc, not enough money for electricity, not enough hygiene items, & not enough laundry detergent. Nearly all of the clients express their gratitude when they receive their food boxes. It is heartwarming to be able to help.

as a volunteer I drive the van on mondays and pick up everything from Meat to bread dairy, and produce and many more things. were one of the only food banks in are area that have a Van. we are also the distributors for goverment commodities. The director of are food Bank works very hard to raise funds and gets buisnesses to help buy doing food drives for are food bank we have tripled are clients in a very short time this is sad but it's very good to know their is a place you can count on. I have helped this food bank for I think about 12 yrs in that time I've seen alott of changes and growth.

North County Community Food Bank (NCCFB) has been feeding hungry families for several decades and is considered the primary charity of the north Clark County Washington community. Their board is more dedicated than any other board I know, and they work hard to raise the money to feed the hungry.
My husband has been so impressed with their generosity and committment that they are his chief charity and he gives generously.
NCCFB is not a glamorous organization, but they are extremely effective and reflective of the generous spirit of the Battle Ground community where they are housed. I'm proud to be able to help their very honorable programs.
