Programs: The organization (ncita) develops programs, projects, and strategies to promote and develop tourism in the north central idaho area. The major programs include:promotion: ncita heavily promotes the region in a variety of ways: print ads, email newsletters, social media, responding to advertising leads, the ncita website, and a regional visitor guide. Its brochure rack project continues to provide informational brochures about the area to visitors already in the area. Ncita continues to use facebook, twitter, pinterest, youtube and google plus. A subcontractor is charged with keeping the information updated and enthusiastically seeks new ways to market the north central idaho region. The ncita marketing committee has carefully targeted its print and online advertising to regional and national markets where maximum impact for the dollars spent may be realized. Website: ncita's website www. Visitnorthcentralidaho. Org was upgraded during the year emphasizing a unified theme with ncita's other advertising efforts. It has a sharp, modern appearance including easy to use drop-down lists of everything the consumer might want to see or experience. New information is continuing to be updated and added on a regular basis, making it easier for potential customers to find the information they need. Regional visitor guide: in april 2015, 10,000 copies of an annual regional visitor guide were produced and distributed free-of-charge throughout idaho and eastern washington,in response to direct consumer inquiries, and uploaded to the ncita website. The guide is a unique publication filled with information on the year's events, activities, and communities, and also includes historical information on the region. The visitor guide was given a new name, "visit north central idaho travel guide" (formerly "discover guide") and a whole new look. It was designed to make it easier to navigate according to activity. Audio tours distribution: a free cassette/cd audio tour of the northwest passage scenic byway continues to be made available to the public. The audio tour traces the lewis & clark expedition route along the clearwater and lochsa rivers including routes through idaho and into montana.
