The North Carolina Community Foundation’s Mission is to inspire North Carolinians to make lasting and meaningful contributions to their communities.
The NCCF is the single statewidecommunity foundation serving NorthCarolina and has made nearly $63 million in grants sinceits inception in 1988. With more than $100 million in assets, the NCCF sustainsnearly 1,000 endowments established to provide long-term support of a broadrange of community needs, nonprofit organizations, institutions andscholarships. The NCCF partners with 60 affiliate foundations to provide localresource allocation and community assistance in 66 counties across the state. Animportant component of the NCCF’s mission is to ensure that rural philanthropyhas a voice at local, regional and national levels
During its fiscal year ended March31, 2009, the NCCF granted more than $4.5 millionto a wide spectrum of charitable causes thatbenefited citizens and communities throughout North Carolina. Funds for these grants comefrom unrestricted, field of interest, designated and donor-advised endowments.
