Apply today! ** Our mission is to speak up for the best interest of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect. We recruit, train, and supervise community volunteers who provide a voice in court to assure each child a safe, permanent and nurturing home. For many children, their CASA volunteer is the only person who remains a constant in their life while they navigate their way through the court and foster care systems. These volunteers are 100% invested in the best interest of the child(ren) they have been appointed to watch over. They see them at least twice a month and spend time talking, reading, making art or playing video games. Each child’s uniqueness is encouraged and honored by their CASA volunteer, and their volunteers love to attend dance recitals, play chess or simply show up to listen. CASA volunteers are ordered by a judge to investigate the case they have been assigned. This means that they also spend time each month speaking with families, schools, doctor’s offices, social workers, therapists and guardians ad litem. While busy advocating, volunteers document their findings and work with their supervisor to submit a child-centered and fact-based court report to the judge at every hearing. Court Appointed Special Advocates attend each hearing accompanied by staff.
