Mission: The nonprofit center connects, strengthens, and advocates for nonprofits to create a more vibrant northeast florida. Through the nonprofit center, the nonprofit sector has more resources, a more powerful voice, & is more valued by the community.
Programs: A vital resource for the local nonprofit sector, the nonprofit center of northeast florida (nonprofit center) is creating a more vibrant northeast florida by connecting nonprofits to the resources they need, strenghtening nonprofit leadership, producing over 250 trainings and peer learning events each year, publishing original research to benefit the sector and community like the benefits and compensation report or the state of the sector report, and always advocating on behalf of nonprofits. In 2017, over 2,400 people attended nonprofit center programs, most of which take place in the jessie ball dupont center, where the nonprofit center is located, and for which we provide tenant and community support to foster nonprofit collaboration and operational efficiencies. A membership organization, the day-to-day work of the nonprofit center focuses on providing services benefitting the 300 nonprofit organizations that comprise our membership. Membership provides access to nonprofit center resources for the staff, board, and key volunteers. Members consistently give the organization high ratings; 99% recommend membership, and a similar percentage say the nonprofit center provides strong leadership for the sector. Fully 97% of members report being very satisfied/satisfied with the value of membership. The nonprofit center extends its reach through three distinct websites that benefit members and nonmembers alike; nonprofitctr. Org provides resources, information and connectivity to nonprofits in northeast florida; thenonprofitlink. Org is both an interactive mapping tool and database of all nonprofits in northeast florida; and wegive. Org provides a crowdfunded, online marketplace where nonprofits and the community can connect to raise funds (it recently surpassed the $400,000 mark) that support programs, services and projects. In its efforts to strengthen both nonprofits and the communities in which they work, the nonprofit center works closely with donors, coalitions, public officials, and other difference-makers to share information about the impact and importance of the local nonprofit sector. In its 2014 plan for strengthening the sector, the nonprofit center laid out a five-year strategy of growth and investment with the specific aim of reaching more nonprofits with relevant and specific capacity building efforts. Accomplishments include: commissioning and releasing the first ever comprehensive compensation and benefits survey for the regionss nonprofits; developing new outreach programs to bring resources to the communities where nonprofits work; offering tailored leadership and management development series; and providing more organizational development assessment and consulting services for nonprofits. The nonprofit center remains focused on providing the best in proframming and resources for nonprofits so they may, in turn, focus on meeting their missions. The nonprofit center connects, strengthens and advocates for local nonprofits in order to create a more vibrant northeast florida.
