I have been personally involved with our local chapters of the Non Commissioned Officers Association (NCOA) for almost 20 years and have experienced the power of associations like ours to make a real difference in people's lives. NCOA was established in 1960 to enhance and maintain the quality of life for the entire enlisted force in all branches of the Armed Forces, past and present, their families, and their survivors. NCOA was granted a Federal Charter by the U.S. Congress in 1988. We have four Benevolent Funds we support: NCOA Scholarship Fund, NCOA Medical Trust Fund; NCOA Disaster Relief Fund and the NCOA National Defense Foundation. One of our Coast Guard families here in Sacramento, CA received much needed help from the Disaster Relief Fund when his home caught fire -- didn't matter that he was not a member of NCOA. We are here for our military!
