Th director of this shelter had several of her personal pets registered at several different vet offices as being owned by this non profit to which the shelter has been paying for her personal pet services. When a complaint was made to the board and police she removed her pets from the shelters accounts and into her personal name. She is claiming this was all an “accident”. The worst part is the board is allowing her to participate in the investigation, keep her job as of today, and pay back the money. Why wouldn’t she be suspended while police are investigating? Why is the board allowing her to continue to work there after this “accident”. We need a new director and a new board at Noah Project, that will act in the best interest of the shelter and the animals…and not protect each other when fraud has occurred, accidentally or not!!!!
I adopted an Aussie doodle from Noah Project. I got the DNA tested and it was exactly that! They were amazing. You can tell they really love all of the animals in their care. The price of my dog was sensible considering the fact that they have all of their animals up to date on all shots, microchipped, and fixed. They even went out of the way to give me everything I needed for my first dog (crate, bowls, beds, collar, leash, harness, toys, and food) The director was friendly and super knowledgeable/helpful. They really make sure the animal goes to the right home.
The director of this shelter is a sham. For the last several years the shelter has suffered, the animals have suffered because the director has been absent, barely even showing up to work for a few hours at a time once or twice a week. Dogs given meds not prescribed to them by vets (I personally witnessed Mashele, the director give several human Xanax to a dog at an event to keep him calm to the point I was worried about him) and dogs over-medicated by the director herself who is not a veterinarian with meds not even prescribed to that dog. I don’t know how many times employees and customers have been bitten and the proper protocols are not followed (bite reports with the state, bite holds). The excuse for a “board” constantly covers for her and her bad behavior because they are “friends” instead of looking out for the shelter and the best interest of the animals, they are more useless than lawn ornaments. The only thing they care about is recognition, getting their name in the paper and the money that rolls in with it or how it will further their careers (such as being a realtor at five star) . I would seriously consider donating to a different local shelter until a new board and new director are in place that have public safety and the welfare of the animals on top of their priority list.
