Causes: Health, Public Health
Mission: THE MISSION of No More Broken Hearts is to make people aware of life saving non-invasive heart scans which can help predict heart attack risk. In addition, we want to make these heart scans as easy to access as mammograms and colonoscopies are today. This is especially important for asymptomatic adults over 40 who don’t appear to be in any of the key risk categories.
Target demographics: educate and create awareness in the community about plaque and why seemingly healthy people have heart attacks.
Direct beneficiaries per year: spread the word during the last months of 2014 as we became a non-profit in October. This year we have spoken to approximately 1,000 individuals to date at various film screenings, health fair events and speaches.
Geographic areas served: San Francisco Bay Area
Programs: speaking engagements, health fairs, film screenings we are creating awareness in our community about non-invasive tests available which help predict risk of heart attacks and strokes.
