NGF has been such a great organization to volunteer for. They focus on education to help kids feel confident and poised to continue their education and potentially go to college. Amy is so caring and truly wants to enrich the kid's lives and enhance the Norcross community.
I was introduce to next generation focus through a friend who used to volunteer there. I soon became interested and began volunteering as a tutor after school and for the kids. It has truly been one of the most rewarding experiences working with the kids and seeing them progress. As someone who has a passion for learning and educating, I love being able to share that passion with the kids. Next Generation Focus gives me the ability to do just that and is a truly one of a kind program with the opportunities it provides for the children.
I have recently started to volunteer at this amazing program. They focus on getting the kids to learn but in a more creative setting. The kids are always excited to see what’s next and I feel a strong connection with all the children in my class. I couldn’t be happen knowing how much of a difference this is making in the children’s lives
I am new to this program but I love it. You have the opportunity to change and to make and impact in the studentd's lives.
My son and I have volunteered for NGF this Fall. The staff and other volunteers are dedicated to the success of the children. The participating children are eager to learn, and my son and I feel like we are making a difference in these youngsters' lives. Of the not-for-profits that I have experience with, NGF does a great deal, with very modest resources.
NGF is a great place with many opportunities to help children learn about subjects they may struggle with at school. NGF also gives volunteers a place to share what they know and to have a positive impact on the learning experiences of the children who come here.
This is my second year at Next Generation Focus, and I can say that it has been a fantastic experience. When I began to tutor at NGF I did not know what I was in for. NGF has changed me in many ways. Viewing many students struggle and having the opportunity to help them is amazing. I never thought that I would be good at tutoring, but this program has taught me how to help younger students and become a better person. I have viewed this program grow, even in the short time I have been here. I can't wait for more experiences with this program!
The experience that i have had at Next Generation Focus has changed me in a way I cant explain. Every Saturday I look forward to coming to Grace Chapel and working with my students. These students here struggle and its our job to help them and make learning fun. You come to the desired location and work with these kids for 2 hours. We work on math, writing, reading, and math. Its great when a student smiles when they finally get something. Like the light bulb goes off. It makes you happy to know that you can help people grow in a way that they might not have known they could. Being dyslexic, I have found strategies that help me learn and so i have other strategies that might help others. For instance, I have worked with two special needs people while here at NGF, when I first started working with these students, it was hard to get them motivated to work. For each student, I had t find something that got them motivated to do something whether it was math , writing, or reading. For my current student, I reward him for working really hard by making him a shriky dink. For example, he wrote an awesome story about Pokemon and even finished it up at home. Some weeks are better than others but the tutors always find a way to help their students get motivated and have a fun time too. New tutors that come have the opportunity to share their strategies and tips because not one thing works for everyone. Next Generation Focus is a great non profit organization that I am so happy I am a part of.
NGF holds such a special place in my heart. Every time I come here, I feel like the kids are the ones teaching me to be a better person, not the other way around. I love the look of excited pride they make whenever they finally figure out a problem. Every kid is so funny, sweet, and overall just amazing in their own special way. I would not miss NGF for the world; this non-profit really makes a difference in their students' lives.
I have been with this organization for six years and I have loved every second of it! We really care about the students and their lives outside of school. I think this program really affects the students ability to learn and remember. Next Generation Focus is a great program that's always here to help!
This organization is truly out to help the children. We not only teach them the skills they will need to pass their classes at school, but also beneficial life lessons that they will carry their entire lives. Altogether, we celebrate all their successes and learn from all their failures while encouraging exploration of the world around them to help them reach their full potential.
We have had the blessing of hosting NGF at Norcross for the past 2 1/2 years. This ministry has been a blessing to so many children and families in our neighborhood who are struggling with school and unable to afford private tutors.
Seeing the glow on students faces as they become more confident in their studies and see there grades climb upward has been awesome!
Amy and her staff are amazing in how they are able to individualize the needs of each student. This program has had a huge impact for the students and families in our area.
I love working at NGF. The program does an excellent job at supporting students who need the extra help in their learning. I am proud to be a memeber of the NGF team!
I am a teacher with NGF. I love the dedication that is offered to students who need support with school. The staff works very hard to connect with the children and provide them with a warm, inviting, and supportive environment that helps them strengthen their skills. I love how lessons are adapted to meet the needs of each individual child!
I love to volunteer at NGF. The children and other tutors are fantabulous!! It’s a wonderful program!
I have been volunteering at Next Generation Focus for close to three years. I absolutely love the kids I tutor and the tutors I work with. It never fails to brighten my day when I see a child’s face light up with excitement when they learn something new or understand a concept. Next Generation Focus is truly unique in their program and support.
Next Generation Focus is a fantastic nonprofit that I'm grateful for the opportunity to work with. Everyone there truly cares about the kids and making sure that they get a great education while making friends in a safe environment. Big things, and good things, are happening at NGF.
For the past year I’ve volunteered with NGF in Norcross area. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. Seeing how eager they are to learn new things and how their face lights up when they finally get it is priceless. We all work together to make sure that the environment is upbeat and loving. I am proud to be part of this organization and giving back to the community I grew up in.
I started my first experience in working with NGF this past summer, and it has enhanced my perspective on dealing with not only children, but others in general. Helping the kids with anything from arts and crafts to mathematics is indubitably a rewarding and fulfilling experience for me. I look forward to creating opportunities within this organization and excited to meet new people.
I'm proud to say that I'm a volunteer for the SmarterMe program. The atmosphere here is welcoming and supportive as every child is made a priority. Being here is a joy with the children as we explore new learning techniques and activities to further their learning.
I am a Volunteer at SmarterMe and highly enjoy to interact with our kids every tutoring session! We all connect and learn various qualities about eachother. SmarterMe benefits the kids in a learning and social environment. SmarterMe is an amazing experience for anyone!
I direct a Next Generation Focus SmarterMe homework club at our local church. We help students complete their homework for the week and practice their math and reading skills. I feel the children greatly benefit from the casual and social environment. Our volunteers are patient and look forward to spending time each week with the students.
