through its philanthropic activities, in fiscal year 2017 nhf transferred funds raised in the aggregate amount of $4,754,354 to nh to support its capital expenditures and operations, which in turn benefits the southern rhode island community. In fiscal year 2017, $4,099,110 was transferred to nh from "beyond the building-the campaign for newport hospital", a $15,000,000 campaign to raise charitable dollars furthering the expansion and transformation of nh's emergency department and its renovation of the intensive care unit. Other notable operating activities of nh that nhf supported include: (1) the partial hospital program ($299,200); (2) nursing excellence ($108,850); and (3) charity care ($94,430).
