Programs: Spectrum health gerber memorial (shgm) is a 49-bed community hospital that offers a complete range of medical and surgical services. Shgm has provided over 115,000 op ancillary visits as well as over 6,000 adult acute and over 700 newborn patient days to the residents of newaygo county and surrounding areas. The emergency department operates as a level iii trauma center open 24 hours a day where quality care is provided to patients of all ages who require emergency services. physician practices/rural health clinics: several physician offices provided over 35,000 office visits. Spectrum health gerber memorial operates three family practice offices in hesperia and grant as well as internal medicine and pediatrics in fremont. An obstetrical clinic is also located in fremont.
home health care, the gerber home care department of the hospital, provided over 19,000 skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, and home health aide visits and is the fourth-largest provider of home health care in west michigan.
