Mission: New Yorkers for Parks is the leading independent citywide organization fighting for greener, cleaner and safer parks in all five boroughs of New York City. NY4P is dedicated to ensuring that all New Yorkers enjoy ready access to excellent neighborhood parks. We provide the tools that help communities build better parks for better neighborhoods.

Groundbreaking assessment tools such as the Report Card on Parks, the only independent survey of park conditions in the five boroughs, and the Open Space Index, a tool to help neighborhoods plan locally for how they would like their park system to grow.

City Council District Profiles analyze resources in each council district, providing ammunition for advocates to campaign for park improvements.

Neighborhood Parks Services assists local parks groups in research, advocacy, planning, beautification and design.

The Daffodil Project, NY4P’s annual beautification effort, mobilizes thousands of volunteers to plant daffodils as a living memorial to 9/11.

Research and publications discuss priority issues related to parks development, management and sustainability.

Advocacy at the city and state level expands, preserves and protects parks and open space throughout the city.

Parks Advocacy Day, convenes hundreds of park advocates to meet with City Council representatives and advocate for a citywide parks agenda.

Coalition building mobilizes park advocates, environmental organizations and recreation groups to act as a unified voice in support of New York City’s parks.
