Mission: NYCRM provided more than 167,000 meals in 2007; 32,000 nights of shelter; 20,000 articles of warm clothing; 800 medical and social work appointments, while at the same time the hope and love of God was shared with those needing encouragement and compassion.
Not many hungry and homeless people come to New York City Rescue Mission seeking to change their lives, but many do! Most come simply seeking a hot meal, a warm shower, and a safe bed. Providing a meal to someone that is hungry and hurting can open the door to discuss their other needs.
New York City Rescue Mission, formerly McAuley Water Street Mission, is America's First Rescue Mission. Founded in 1872 on the Lower East Side. The purpose of the Rescue Mission has remained for 135 years - To provide spiritual hope, food, clothing, and shelter to hungry and homeless people at our doors.

Your mission refused to help me because he didn’t seem to understand or care that I had mental issues because I was being abused on my husband who later than I ended up being abused by my husband‘s friend you guys told me in the pouring rain and the freezing cold when I had soaking wet shoes and socks, she wouldn’t give me shoes or socks. You are a horrible mission. I can’t believe you actually became extension which is the place. Everyone came and is known for for drugs, which is not lays with fentanyl so you go ahead and continue to tell your great stories about how you got people off the streets, but don’t forget to also tell the story about how I got all my ribs shattered at your stupid NYC phone booth right outside of the mission line And no one did a thing for it . A good company and the owner lives in park place . You have provided several meals and close to the homeless and we are thankful but you only provided us one bed night at a time so it didn’t help us get any kind of anything to help us get off the street even if we truly did need your help. You were the first mission ever came to New York because you were supposed to help me. You are definitely a profit society. And probably in bed with a lot of bad people considering I’ve put several reviews up on changed.org about how you mistreated the homeless in 2015. Here I am the same person in 2024. I don’t go away and I didn’t forget. I truly hope that since the bowery partnered with you guys, you guys didn’t become as big of a cesspool as they were which we all know everyone lines up outside the bowery day and night for their drugs and at J Roosevelt park across the street. If you don’t want secrets about New York City expose, you should probably treat the homeless better.
