Angela Docherty introduced me to New Ways about 7 years ago, and I have been a supporter of their low-overhead, maximum-impact approach ever since. While I have been a donor for many years, I recently volunteered to help the US arm of New Ways, and serve on the Board. The focus on water, nutrition, agriculture, and education serves to improve the quality of life in the communities we work with.
I have followed the work that New Ways does for over 10 years and their commitment to self-sufficiency in the communities they work in is commendable. As a supporter, I am amazed by their impact and the meaningful difference that they are making.
I have met two members of the Missionary of Saint Paul the Apostle while attending training on community participation in Addis Ababa in 2014. Since then I volunteered, connect them with volunteers, and visited their mission in Muketurri, Ethiopia in 2014 and their mission in one of the poor neighborhoods in Mexico City in 2018. These Missionaries are doing great work in the areas of poverty alleviation, education, health, food security, and kids with special needs in the remote of remote areas with the most marginalized people in the country. They are doing just incredible work.
I’ve known the group since 1994 when I first visited them in Kenya. Since then, I’ve visited their missions several times and always been touched by their love for the population they serve. Not only spiritually (providing masses and spiritual guidance) but also in very practical ways such as in agriculture, health and education. I am aiming to bring my own children to witness the work they do, which I am sure will inspire their lives, as it has mine.
This is a very small charity run by volunteers and aims to help those in great need in Ethiopia, Malawi and Turkana, Northern Kenya. So your donations go a long ways to change lives. We seek to empower local people to take care of the families. education is key to the future. Please help us if you can. Many thanks
