The founder of this organization is a hateful, unprofessional, and vitriolic human being. This organization demands far too much from its volunteers, especially considering that many of their volunteers are law school students. When I didn't answer an email within 24 hours because my power was out, the founder of this organization emailed me to lecture me on how I was wasting her time and holding up her work. When I respectfully emailed back that I no longer wanted to volunteer with the organization because it asked too much of me, she sent me back the most disgusting, hate-filled email I have ever received in my life. She told me I was a terrible person, and that God would "treat me accordingly." Aside from the founder's hateful and unprofessional attitude, the organization itself is completely disorganized and doesn't actually get anything done for prisoners. They just send out a lot of paperwork, and then the prisoners request something you can't give them, like a private detective or a pro bono lawyer. This is an awful organization.

New Vision Organization, Inc volunteers are committed, hard working advocates for the incarcerated men and women, whom, when remorseful over the crime committed, deserve another chance at freedom. I think our government is too harsh on many prisoners who are just trying to serve their time without incident and New Vision Organization does extensive research to find resources for these individuals, who are in for life, long-term or those who will be released back into society and need some help getting their lives back on track. I know of prisoners who depended on the help of NVO and that organization came through for them.

I thank God everyday for the volunteers and NVO for their support. When I was due to be released my family had disowned me and I was looking to return to my Gang. Thanks to the support of my Volunteer caseworker who worked day and night to find me a place to live and a job. I am now a manager of a retail store and have been clean and out of trouble for 3 years... Thank You So Much!!!
