Mission: We support organizations and programs that create economic opportunities for new mexico's women and girls.
Programs: We provide mentoring and financial support to women's cooperatives around the state. In 2014 we gave $1,000 micro grants to five cooperatives and one $982 micro grant to another cooperative to support their work with local women in the production of products which they brought to market. We host annual sales venues called rag rug & art marketplaces in las cruces and santa fe where women come together not only to sell their products but to learn from peer-to-peer mentoring. This investment in women fosters confidence, self esteem and promotes financial stability. All proceeds from our marketplaces go directly to the artisans. Nmwf volunteers also provide mentoring where needed in business skills, marketing, product development, how to display crafts and sales techniques.
