Mission: The new mexico heart institute foundation is dedicated to supporting education and research to enhance heart health for all new mexicans.
Programs: The organization provides various services to support cardiovascular services and education that includes the following activities. The organization maintains a website to enable cardiovascular patients and their physicians to access extensive information on cardiovascular conditions and treatments. Checklists are provided to physicians that enable them to customize reading for each patient prior to the patient accessing the site. Additionally, various courses are offered for cme credit for a minimal administrative fee and are attended by family practice physicians, emergency room physicians, physicians assistants, certified nurse practitioners and registered nurses. Project heart start is another program that is designed to teach the public cpr. The goal is to provide basic skills to respond quickly and appropriately to a sudden cardiac arrest.
