Mission: New heights - adventures for teens, inc. Is a private, not-for-profit, afterschool and summer adventures program for young people ages 10 to 18. The mission of new heights is to unleash the individual and collective potential of today's youth by offering experiental learning opportunities through: exploration of their culture, community, and natural environment; expression of their unique talents, ideas, and creativity; and engagement in science, technology, arts, and outdoor learning. New heights serves over 1000 young people from over 20 towns located primarily in and around the new hampshire-maine seacoast area.
Programs: New heights school year opportunities through the after-school program offer steam (science, technology, engineering, arts and math), outdoor adventure and team building programs for youth ages 10 through 18. Programs are offered after school, during school breaks and within the classroom during the school day and include first lego league robotics, destination imagination, rock climbing and hiking. There were approximately 672 participants in the various programs conducted from july 2016 to june 2017.
new heights summer program provides intentional workshops throughout the summer months that encourage exploration and learning in steam (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) and outdoor adventure. Participants learn to code, build robots, design video games and participate in a variety of other steam related opportunities within the workshops. In addition, youth that participate in the outdoor adventure programs experience the adirondacks of new york, the white mountains of new hampshire, as well as a variety of day long adventures including rock climbing, surfing, hiking and kayaking. There were approximately 354 participants in the various summer programs conducted from july 2016 through june 2017.
