I came to NEV broken and disheartened by my years living on the street and in city shelters. When NEV welcomed me into their home i slept soundly for the first time in years, knowing i was surrounded by people who knew what Veterans need. Through NEV i reunited with my family and had the peace and quiet i needed to finish my Bachelor's degree. I am greatful that the veterans specific staff knew exactly how to help me exactly.

Mission: New era provides housing for formerly homeless veterans of the united states military as well as ongoing help in finding employment and help in applying for benefits to which they may be entitled, as well as a range of other social services.
Programs: New era provides and operates a scattered site housing program under contract with the nys office of mental health. The program provides permanent housing in 20 apartments through rental assistance. Case management services are also provided.
