NEER North is the Best! I’ve volunteered there for over 10 years and plan to be there at least another 10. It’s a place where miracles happen. Mary Martin is diligent in her efforts to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome horses and gives her all to save as many horses as she has room for in West Newbury. We see horses that no one would think were adoptable, but who end up healthy and safe in their forever homes.
Whether it’s a horse, a donkey, a mule, or even a sheep, they are fortunate if they find themselves at NEER North. They will be well-cared for, given the necessary training, and doted on by volunteers until they find their new home.

My daughter is a volunteer and lover of NEER North and its mission to save equines at risk. It is a beautiful facility and their equines are well cared for and given a chance at a new life in a good adoptive home. Bravo NEER North

NEER is by far one of the best rescues I have ever been a part of. I have been a member of NEER since the beginning. Their knowledge of horses, their needs, and various riding disciplines is unbelievable. Their skill in matching human and horse is invaluable. They help local equines and keep them from entering a vicious system. I simply cannot say enough about how successful NEER is!

New England equine rescue north does an amazing amount of work not only with their rescue horses but within the community as well to help people maintain their farms and their horses at home through a feed fund on very limited resources. All of the horses that enter the rescue are extremely well cared for and loved and the volunteers are some of the most dedicated that I have seen

Absolutely the best decision I have ever made was showing up at NEER and filling out a volunteer application! Love the people, the animals, and the mission! Mary is one of the most hard working and amazing women I have ever had the privilege of working with! Her love for these animals and her passion to rescue and rehome them is remarkable! She is the one who makes this all possible! Thank you, Mary!

There are not enough great words to describe the good that NEER North does for equines in need. I have known Mary for over 30 years, and when the time was right for me to own a horse again, there was no doubt I would go to NEER! The horses are so well cared for by the dedicated volunteers who work so hard to ensure the animals and new owners are the best match possible. My first horse 32 years ago was a rescue from Mary as is my new partner who just came home this past weekend! Thank you, NEER North for all you do!

NEER North is the only Mass rescue that focuses on helping local horses and owners. While other places are turning away NEER North is taking in and finding wonderful homes for these horses, ponies and donkeys. Not only do they take them in but work to make them healthy, sound and evaluated before placement to insure a good match. If the rescue is full and an owner is in need they will help with the feed fund they have set up and will network with the hope of finding a home. The calls for help come in daily and they help as many as possible but the need is overwhelming.

I have been a volunteer at NEER for 6 years now. The love and care for these horses is amazing. No matter what condition they come in, they leave with healthy and happy. My favorite part about NEER is how they stick by their horses. It does not matter how long the horse has been adopted for, they will take them back if we need too.

I started volunteering at NEER in March. I love it! These equines really are cared for well and I watched then go off to new, loving homes. I just googled a rescue near me and I feel so fortunate to have landed at NEER. PS I never knew donkeys were so cuddly!

What an amazing, wonderful, loving family of volunteers and equines. I'm in my happy place when with them...best decision I've made in a long time. I'm inspired by Mary Martin with her unrelenting drive to do right by these majestic animals and all the folks at NEER who devote time out of their busy lives for this worthy cause. Your much needed donation will help nurture these abandoned, mistreated and forgotten equines so that they can find their forever home!

I have been volunteering with NEER North for a little over a year now and completed my independent senior project working with the horses there. NEER takes beautiful care of their equines and Mary makes sure every horse & owner combo is a great match! The volunteers are friendly, helpful, and really care about the facility, animals, and other volunteers. Though I am in college now, I make sure to stop by during every break and will continue to volunteer over my summer breaks!
