Mission: Formed in the late 80's, the New England Brass Band is entirely volunteer run and has a mission to bring the world of British Brass music to our community. Under the leadership of our director, BSO bass trombonist, Doug Yeo, we are dedicated to improving our musicianship and expanding our audience. In 1999, we completed our first professionally recorded CD of this genre music, called "Christmas Joy", recorded in Boston's Symphony Hall. In 2001 we completed our second recording, "Honour & Glory" (also recorded at Symphony Hall), containing previously unrecorded classic works for British Brass. In 2001, we placed third at the North American Brass Band Festival in Washington, DC and in 2003 we placed second at the NABBA competition in Little Rock, AR. In April 2004 we won 1st place in the Challenge Division of the NABBA festival held in Charleston, West Virginia. In June 2004 we will complete our third CD recorded at Symphony Hall - a collection of sacred/spiritual music to be titled "Light of the World". We annually perform 7 - 8 concerts to bring the tradition of British Brass to the general public. We seek performance opportunities in the New England area and would consider fee waiver for worthy causes.
