Mission: State of california licensed 24 hour supervised board/care of minor female ca court dependents/wards.
Programs: From january through august 2009 new directions, under licensing by the state of california, provided group homes for a maximum, at any given time, of 14 girls up to age 18, who were under the control of a california court. Problems addressed are substance abuse, teenage pregnancy, low self-esteem, delinquency, homelessness and peer relationships. In august 2009 the organization made the decision to cease all group home operations and proceeded to explore other possible operational activities that would be in keeping with its mission to provide assistance to children and young adults. In 2010, while continuing to try to identify a new operational purpose, the organization decided to rent its operating assets (the group homes and furnishings) to samaria sober living, a charitable organization providing a sober-living environment for adults.
