New Concept Dance Company, Inc.

They are a small nonprofit, and it would be nice to see them grow. I am a supporter because my daughter was about to quit dance because of bad experiences on teams until she met Miss Laren and then her spark came back. My wife and I are still grateful. This nonprofit definately makes competitive dance more affordable for hard working people who don't get breaks, but it's also worth more than what we were paying at another comp studio because Miss Laren is older and knows how to act mature, she's a great role model for my daughter, and shes a smart lady. We never got double billed, there's no mistakes with costumes, and everyone is clear up front. Parents who want their daughters happy should go here.

My husband and I are donors! As soon as I found out Miss. Laren was involved with this program, we became donors. We've known her for a long time and she knows what she's doing and we like that she went to college and held professional positions outside of dance. She was a role model for our daughter who is in college now but Miss. Laren was her dance teacher a long time ago, and we still talk about her and the difference she made. She puts her students first and works miracles with them. They always looked great on stage, felt confident and cared for, and you can see the growth. She's also a nice person, but won't let a dance mom run the show. That's hard to find.
My daughter didn't compete in dance, but she competed in cheer and is on her college cheer squad. Miss. Laren is the one who got her there. If you're a mom then you know there's nothing better than seeing your child happy! We are forever grateful we met Miss. Laren years ago!

I'm active and love to move, but I have injuries left over from boxing and martial arts in my 20s, then a car accident when I was 30. Now at 51, I still love being active, but overuse and old injuries creep back all the time, making it challenging to feel good about moving and get motivated to join or go to the gym (or some days, even take a walk outside).

New Concept Dance Company supports EVERYONE who wants to learn about, continue learning about, start, or keep going with dance-- or being active in general. The Director is so supportive of all learners, with particular attention to those of us who have had injuries in the past (and she is clearly knowledgeable about rehab work and staying strong in spite of injuries-- she takes the time to explain different moves that keeps me on the beat without me feeling like I'm in need of adjustments for everything).

I've tried other places, and none of them catered to an adult population like NCD does-- and DEFINITELY do not support those of us who remain fit and active but because of injuries may need modifications. NCD makes sure everyone has a chance to love dance. It's a special place.

Thanks for making dance affordable during a time when prices are so inflated. We were thrilled to find this opportunity.

My friends and I had a hard time finding adult dance classes that weren't a heels class or hip hop moves without any conditioning or warm up. We all have dance backgrounds and wanted to get back to it without killing ourselves. We heard about New Concept Dance through a friend of ours and they don't advertise their drop in classes for adults because their classes are full because so many come back.

The lady who runs this nonprofit is crazy smart, humble, and friendly, and she gets back to everyone super quick. She's doing everything right and I'm happy to support them!

My daughter is dual enrolled in college while she finishes high school, and is also very involved with musical theatre and performing. We travel to NYC each summer where she takes classes in musical theatre and dance, and she participates in as many local shows as her academics will allow. I mention this so that anyone who reads this is aware of who I am talking about in this review. My daughter is a hard worker, she is serious about her talents, and she is academically competitive.

It's been difficult for us to find dance classes in this area that will give her a chance to be home before 8pm during the week so she isn't up until midnight doing homework, and will also provide outstanding technical and artistic training. It seems like once a girl hits her teen years, the only dance classes she can take are the ones where the class is more like a rehearsal for an upcoming competition, or she can take a "heels class", or "sassy jazz", which is not what my husband or I want for our daughter. Our daughter needs regular classes, with a warm up, and an adult at the front of the class who is actual teaching.

I wasn't sure about New Concept Dance because they consider themselves an after-school program, but it's nothing like what you would think an after-school program would be. The classes are adequately challenging, and my daughter has never felt so cared for as an individual. She says she is learning the exact skills she needs, and she is happy every time she leaves class. She also loves ballet now, which is something I never thought I'd see.

Give this dance school a chance. The woman who runs it is so humble and unassuming, and is clearly very intelligent and really knows what she is doing. It's also evident that she really cares about these students.

Five Stars!!! So glad we found this studio. My daughter takes multiple classes and loves all of them. We received a partial scholarship last season, and my daughter would not have been able to experience all the benefits of dance if it weren't for this place. And PS, my husband and I both work! It's just hard to find anything affordable, we know dance is expensive, but sometimes we wonder what we were paying for at other studios. We are really thankful this place is here!

New Concept Dance Company is the best studio in the area. We have been to multiple studios in the area and none come close. Teachers are educated and professional. The facility is spotless and classes are extremely organized. They spend time with students individually. One integral part of teaching dance is using the correct dance technique and New Concept Dance Company does this. So happy we found this studio.

New Concept Dance Company is an amazing organization where children of all ages have opportunities to experience the joy of dance. Donations go directly towards providing scholarships to support students needing discounts on tuition, costumes, private lessons, and much more. I love how any donation, large or small, can make such a difference in the lives of these dedicated students. We have been to other studios in the area and are excited we found a studio that cares so much about the needs of students. They spend time with all the students and provide the tools for success. We are really happy here, and my daughter is relearning a lot that she missed at her last studio. It's like they stopped teacher here there when she got older and didn't want to be on team. New Concept is giving her a chance to compete again, but she can still be part of other activities she loves, and this will help her qualify for scholarships. I know this place is really new, but everyone should give them a chance. They are doing a great job. We wish this was an option years ago.

I am a very happy parent of a very happy student at New Concept Dance Company. The instruction she receives is high quality from high quality teachers. My daughter is enjoying dance and being challenged to keep growing in a safe and healthy way. This is not a typical school where competition teams dominate the attention of staff. Teachers here train the students with injury prevention in mind! The choreography and costumes are modest and appropriate! The focus here is high quality instruction and inspiring a life long love of dance, not learning how to get attention via skin and flash. NCDC is responsible with their finances. They do not over charge for costumes, there are no registration fees, there are possible scholarships and even perks to earn. I highly recommend local dancers check out what NCDC has to offer!

We are very happy with how this dance studio is run and we are also happy with how much our kids are learning. They want to dance because they love it. My older child competes and I don't have to worry about the choreography being inappropriate but sold to me like it's the only way she can get high scores. And my teen came from a studio she competed at, and the experience made her want to quit. I am happy that she has a place where she can just enjoy dance again without being pressured to compete and she's also allowed to take the classes with the competition kids even if she isn't competing. She feels welcome there and inspired. I know she will compete again now that we found this studio.

New Concept Dance Company is responsible with their money, and they are also transparent. They make all kids and teens feel welcome to take classes whether they are interested in competing or just want to get better at dance. This is a top-notch dance studio.

I donate to this dance company because I understand what excellent and professional instruction they provide. They are also very generous in making sure that middle income families receive a financial break so their students can participate. This company does all the right things.
