New City Kids is a great nonprofit organization that is full of inspiration and teen leaders. The organization hires teenagers to teach the youth of Jersey City which causes the atmosphere to be energetic and full of love. I am an alumni of the program and always volunteer to make sure that I am still impacting the youth. This place has change lives and transformed families. I highly recommend people volunteer if you have a passion for helping the youth of the city!

New City Kids is a great nonprofit located in the McGinley Square neighborhood. They hire local high school students to serve as tutors, music teachers and mentors to the 1st - 8th graders in their after school programs. The high schoolers have programming of their own including a 1:1 college mentor that walks them through every step of the college process, tutoring, professional visits where they learn about new careers and optional bible study groups. It's a great organization that is making a big impact in the lives of Jersey City youth.

This is an organization that provides afterschool programs for underserved, minority, and poor populations in Jersey City, NJ. I volunteered as a homework helper/tutor for both the elementary and high school students. The students are very open and friendly, and really appreciate the assistance that is given. The experience is extremely rewarding!
