Do not waste your time here there are few that say good things about this place and they are not sober but have beencorrupted by status and cash the program as a whole has become nothing but a suboxon clinic it's hard to take them serious when after a meeting you see Nancy buying beer at the store and the next day sending a person back to prison for being g drunk they don't care a person only the money . NANCY IS ONLY THERE TO COLLECT FOR ALLEN . This place is a joke
I'm having an issue with this " sober living " facility as well as the disrespect and lies from I believe the director of the Spfld office. Who can I speak with about this from a different location? Possibly a owner or a board that governs the Spfld location. I'm also needing to speak with others that may have had a similar incident. I may be able to help, I may be able to point you in the right direction.
This program just keeps getting worse. How can they put 12 people in a house then add someone to the couch?
I can't say this enough... this program literally saved my life. I came into this program from jail, but before that I was a 6 year herion/fentynal addict that was overdosing every other week, coming into the program I had absolutely no intention on staying, I was gonna do what I always did, which was get high & go on the run, however when I got to the program that all changed. For starters, I had the most amazing house manager ever. Her name was Ashley Vaghn. She made me feel like I was at home & that was a huge deal because I hadn't felt that in such a very long time. Nancy & Jack both are amazing mentors as well, they will always do what's best for you even if you don't see it at the time. They work with you no matter what, as long as you are honest with them and willing to help yourself, they will help you. It's now a year a later & I graduate tomorrow, I am moving into my own place & I couldn't be happier. I literally could not of done it without this program. You'll come in with nothing, but leave with everything.... including the life long family that you never had. ♡
New Beginnings was a blessing to me , I came here from prison and it gave me skills to be successful and learn life skills that I need to be on my own , It gave me a stepping stone to be on my own after years of being in and out of prison and in and out of addiction , it also allowed me to save money and I'm now graduating and moving into my own place and have all the things I need to be successful , I truly believe if I would not came here from prison I would be back because I would not have had the structure I needed and the accountability I needed as I was released and gave me a better understanding of life and how to live , I definantly recommend this program to anyone who is willing to do what it takes to have a better life and learn life skills and responsibility.
I am a 20+ year addict. The situation that I was in was a very very unique situation. I was beyond broken. The kind of broken you don't come back from. Not only did Miss Nancy Hall reach out and help me she done it with risk to her self. Miss Hall and the staff at NBS not only saved my life but also my soul. NBS is a great organization but I have to say it would be nowhere if it wasn't for that amazing woman Miss Hall. No one and I mean no one cared and even less liked me but this woman stuck her hand out and pulled me out of the evil muck I was in and helped me. I owe her EVERYTHING. There are many contributors to my success but every single bit of it started with Miss Hall and the caring heart God Almighty gave her. You saved my soul ma'am. I am forever In your debit. God bless you. God bless NBS
Staff don't help and there's alot oof animosity in the houses towards other group members. staff don't change houses when this happens. I prefer going somewhere else.
This program is the biggest crock of crap. Nancy is so full of it. She don't care a single bit about people in the program. Your unnoticed until your a week behind on rent. Then she wants cash. Never even met the lady 1 time. She will answer the phone in order to get you in and receive your money after that she refuses to deal with you or speak to you. It takes your family calling 10 times to get a single thing done. There house mangers are a freaking joke. They dont pay rent. They don't have to do chores you basically clean up after them and support them. She made up her own program CFO she picks who has had their nose up her butt to put them in it to scam more $$. Alan is absent 99% of the time. They have SRCC meetings and they don't want you to work those nights because they get paid for you being there. You will get treated like crap of you do work those nights. They will harass you asking you to do a million things while you at work. I've reported them to several places. This place is a big scam. They use money to benefit them at that's it. Ask how many people has actually met Nancy or Alan or did a REAL class with them. Not a Netfelix video. Report them. Make them explain how they treat addicts worse and worse when they supposed to be helping them building themselves up. 8 out of 10 will agree. If your thinking of a program DOC DOES BETTER THEN THIS Joke Scam

I am embarrassed for you! A peer who is worth being a peer should know better. I will be passing your comments on to the MCB as this is one of the most unprofessional things you could have done. You misrepresented all the facts, didn't bother to come and have any issues you might have had resolved or explained. Yes we expect people to pay their bills. You should of all people should know better. I am sad that you are out there helping people. A CERTIFIED PEER SPECIALIST who is worthy of helping others should never be this misinformed. We have always said work, treatment and counseling take precedence over our meetings. Not sure where you got your misinformation, but you are so off. No I do not teach classes and as for my whereabouts, our program is State Wide, I travel all around the State. If you were professional enough to set an appt or call me I could have explained all of this as a rational human being, not to get called out on a public forum where you can just write fiction!
Well I just want to warn anyone who will listen not to go there!!!! ALL Nancy and Alon care about is MONEY! We got out of prison and went there my sister paid the $330 for me to go there and let me tell you it is a JOKE! They lied to my sister and told her that they would help me find a job and help me get to said job but that was just another one of their many many lies they tell to get your money. My wife and I were in different houses and we eventually got a grant through the state to pay our weekly fees and we moved out in July of 2019 and in September of 2019 the woman who was in charge of our grants called us and asked us how things in the houses were going and we told her that we had left two months before and she was surprised, they had still been collecting grant money on us even though we had left the program two months prior. This place is a scam, they do not care about your sobriety or freedom, all they care about is the money! We weren't kicked out. We left on our own because we realized that they cared about was the money! Please don't send your fragile loved ones there, you will be setting them up for failure, new beginnings sanctuary is a scam and a joke and I promise that they don't care about your loved one! They kicked my friend out because she had a boyfriend outside of the program and she overdosed and died a couple weeks later at 19yrs old!!!! Notice how every bad comment Alon gets on here and says that they are just mad because they were kicked out, not true, we weren't kicked out we left on our own! Why are there so many disgruntled former clients Alon? Because when they start figuring out what is going they get kicked out into the streets! They give you 1hr to get your stuff out when you leave! Nancy is not a good person! Oh yeah they are against gay people, my wife and I left because they were trying to separate us because we were gay! They are anti LGBTQ! Don't send anyone you love there unless you want them to be treated like garbage

I am sorry you had a bad experience. I believe people who truly want recovery will honor their commitments, and try to learn to live like normal members of the community. That includes, getting a Job, paying bills, following rules, and getting along with housemates. It is obvious that you don't get that. We are happy to help anyone get a job. It may not be the job you wanted, or liked, but we can get people work. Also we require you to pay your bills, if that means we are about the money, then yes we are. We are about responsibiliyt and accountability. Things that a lot of people who come into the program are not willing to accept or change, but as you can see by other reviews, the ones that come in and are willing to do what it takes make it and have very successfull lives. I can provide anyone with success stories if you would like. Including many who are part of the LGBTQ community. I am not sure what your issue was with the house but we wish you the best!
If you want to learn how to live life on life's terms become responsible and accountable this is the place to do it. Use new beginnings as a stepping stone back to living life on life's terms. A safe environment to grow a safe environment to learn how to be comfortable being normal again.
I have been here for a couple months now and I’m actually finding myself and I love having the friends it’s helped me create. Lifelong friends and someone is always here to help you through whatever it is you may be going through. I can’t wait to continue my journey.
New beginnings is a great program. So far my recovery journey has been a challenge like all other things in life but here at New beginnings I'm finding peer support with some really amazing people. I've not been in the program for long so I can't comment on the staff. I am hopeful for great things and for great changes on the horizon. To all those reaching out or maybe thinking about recovery what I can tell you is this at the beginning of each Dawn it's a new day. Hang in there I am.
The new beginnings program is exactly what the title states, a new beginning. An addict like myself who struggles with addiction needs a safe comfortable living environment. This program not only provides a safe place but also the structure to help people like me. I've been welcomed with open arms and kindness and I'm proud and thankful to be apart of this'll program and thankful for the opportunity to get my life back and to be a father again. Thanks New Beginnings.
Sincerely, Travis Wyrick
This program really embraces what I belive in. It supports a Christian faith while using peer support to create a steady walk on the road to recovery. All of the founders have a heart for those struggling with an addiction. They personally involve themselves with each and everyone involved in the new beginnings program. As this is my second time in the program we know that they believe in Gods grace and multiple chance. I would like to encourage any one who's affected by addiction or has a loved one who suffers to join our community. Needs are great for donations, mentors and our doors are always open for anyone who would like help with finding the courage to change! Thank you new beginings for all the blessings, love and support.
Great place to be in if you really want to get clean and I have been there for 6 months and I have been working hard and this place has help me alot
The homes are kept clean and bug-free and well run. They often have activities, and you can make some awesome friends. The staff of NBC are terrific most of the time. If you are struggling and need that little bit of extra help, hit them up. The cost is a bit high but very doable as they will work with you as long as you deal with them in good faith. You won't be sorry.
When looking into treatments and looking into different recovery houses I stumbled across New Beginnings. And boy was it a New Beginning! It was a life saver and a Godsend! I will be forever greatful and thankful for this wonderul program, for Nancy, Alon and all the great people I have met alongthe way! My children got thier Mommy, my parents got thier daughter and I really got another good chance at life! I would whole heartedly one hundred and ten percent recommend this program to anyone striving for sobriety.
New Beginnings Sanctuary changed my life!! This is the first sober living program I had ever been in and the only place to help change my life and help me to have the life I have today. Before new Beginnings Sanctuary I was an addict who lost my children, in and out of prison for many years. When I came to New Beginnings Sanctuary I got my first job and learned how to be responsible. I finally had love and a support system who stayed by my side and to this day is STILL by my side. Having rules and structure the program had helped prepare me to be the women I am today. The program is ran a certain way to help you be and stay successful . It’s all up to you if you use the tools they teach you to be successful. I stayed with New Beginnings Sanctuary for 17 months. I graduated and stayed until I was ready to leave . The program does not tolerate drug use and I was so thankful for that because that kept me safe. I didn’t have to worry about being around someone and being triggered. I will forever recommend New Beginnings Sanctuary to people who want to change there lives. New Beginnings Sanctuary is the reason why I am where I am at today!! And why I was able to live a life in recovery!! I for the first time in my life at 34 have my own place ! A vehicle! A family!! And my little baby!!! If you want change and want to learn a new way of life this is the program I recommend!! I love you New Beginnings !! I love you Nancy !! Thank you so much for still being in mine and my family’s life today I know if i ever need anything I can forever reach out and these people will be there for me
The housing director of New Beginnings Sanctuary picked me up from the Greyhound Bus Station 21 months ago; straight out of prison.
She then took me to my new home and introduced me to my house manager & I've called NBS home ever since that day.
I'd like to take a minute to help clear-up some of the confusion from other reviews.
New Beginnings Sanctuary is a faith based program that firmly believes that there are multiple paths to recovery. They support Jesus Christ. They support 12 steps, they support MAT; etc. As a client of NBS, you are required to attend a minimum of three recovery meetings per week and one religious service. New Beginnings WANTS to see people recover, whether they believe in Jesus or not... but you'd better believe that God is in these homes.
One of the most beautiful things about NBS is their compassion and grace. There are RULES that every client must follow. NUMBER ONE being that there is a zero tolerance for substance use of any kind. I, myself, have had to have that hard conversation with the founders of NBS and start all over. FIVE days away from my 12 month graduation date I had to begin again. I had to go to orientation again. I had to start over with my curfew and restrictions.
RECOVERY WILL NEVER BE PERFECT. IT WILL NEVER BE IDENTICAL TO YOUR NEIGHBOR'S! What NBS does for us who suffer with a substance use disorder is provide a safe and stable environment for us to grow and mature in our recovery.
Notice the term, "mature." Clients will reside in a home with up to ten other recovering addicts. It will not always be easy... and as you can read from some others; when a dismissal or disagreement occurs, people can get sour and yes, sometimes that happens within the homes. NBS does it's best to ensure that these situations are dealt with quickly and appropriately to ensure the safety and comfort of those who are choosing to work a healthy program.
What can you expect within a healthy program? Rules. Education. STRUCTURE. And an expectancy to pay a program fee of $110 a week.
Having a financial responsibility that took precedence over any addiction or extracurricular activity I enjoyed, that was FAR less expensive that any rental agreement I could find in a, "normal housing," situation; was a blessing.
I needed to LEARN how to pay bills. How to be responsible for myself. How to budget LIVING COSTS out of my paychecks and respect the environment in which I was paying to live.
New Beginnings Sanctuary gave my children their mother back.
Saved my big brother's, baby sister's life.
Created a Certified Peer Specialist that shares her story with others who struggle with substance use.
NBS is a program, not a game; not an adventure. It has rules to keep people focused and safe. I can't think of a statement that's not an excuse for poor behavior that a person could truthfully use to disqualify NBS from doing anything but exceeding expectations.
The next drink I had was for sure going to be last! But I had decided that I would try sober living again for the last time. I had been in others before but, they seemed to be more driven by the place and not how to build recovery in the outside of those walls. At New Beginning Sanctuary they taught me how to build a foundation of recovery. Meaning not solely relying on the program itself. I was able to make connections in the recovery community, find a stable job, while having the accountability to stay sober. The other things they have taught me are how to be a leader, how to set a routine for myself, how that if I have goal I can reach it. I have 2 years and 10 month sober. My husband and I have a wonderful relationship, my family and I have relationship, and I am able to work in the Recovery Community helping others find there own path to Recovery. This program is still very much a part of my Life and without it I would not be where I am. Thank you!!
I agree with the young lady above this is totally a big joke our daughter was in the hospital under life-threatening situation didn't know if she was going to make it or not and they basically told us unless our fees were paid up we couldn't stay the night but if as soon as our fees were paid they was okay with it also their hypocritical my wife to be is was kicked out for having relationships outside with myself we've been together for a long time although her house manager is sleeping with another house manager which is forbidden her assistant house manager sleeping with another client which is forbidden and then also Nancy the head person has having a relations with a local drug dealer named Randy they make the rules up as they go basically it's all about money and they could care less about anybody I'm not saying that everybody's like that but in general it's all about money so if you need a place to get out of jail or something that's the place to go if you're trying to fix yourself it's not

Disgruntled client that claims we are about money but in reality could not honor commitment he made and couldn’t handle accountability. Client was dissmissed
I was a client of New Beginnings and let me tell you from first hand experience they are NOT what they claim to be. Allow me to explain.
First you have to pay $110 a week to be part of the program. They own approximately 25 regular residental homes in 3 different cities with the majority of them being in Springfield, MO. Now, 10-12 people live in each house paying $110 per week making that $440 per month per client. Now, if you take the $440 that each client pays multiply that by let's say 10 (I'm low balling the number of clients per house) simple math will tell you that each house makes $4400. Now, take that product and multiply that by the the number of months in a year, since it is a year long program, you get $52,800. Multiply that by the 25 houses that New Beginnings owns and you get a grand total of $1,320,000. I will be generous and say that 60% of that money covers all of their expenses and you get a remaining balance of $792,000. Yet they claim that they are not about the money and they have passed themselves off as a non-profit organization. Additionally, they are always looking for handouts while the founder is investing the profits for his own personal gain. So tell me, with the aforementioned in mind, how is it possible that New Beginnings Sanctuary can make the claim that they are not about the money?
Next let's move onto the policies that you agree to follow when you sign up. With his being a rehab organization, they will conduct random drug testing. Obviously one of the main policies is that if your UA comes back positive for narcotics you will be dismissed from the program. That is policy number 1. But, the management staff does not enforce that policy on everybody. Before I personally decided to leave New Beginnings, I saw six people test positive for narcotics and get dismissed like they were supposed to. Yet they let 4 of those people return. Where is the equality? Moreover, there were others that were dismissed for the same violation and were not allowed to return. Again where is the equality? Now, we signed documentation stating that we would abide by each outlined policy and agreed to the repercussions if we fail to do so. Management then also signed agreeing that they would enforce them. Therefore, by having both signatures it became a legally binding contract. So what's the point of us having to follow they rules if they are not being enforced as a whole on each and every client? Not to mention that the CEO allows the management supervisory staff to make up policies as they see fit to the situation. Therefore you have to take their verbal abuse or risk getting kicked out if you show an inkling of disagreement. The staff knows that they have you over a barrel and they use that to their advantage to verbally push you around. Can anyone tell me how New Beginnings can make the claim that they are there to help you when they verbally push you around, insult you and just plain bully you?
Now, lets move onto their claim of being a faith based organization. They do not care if you believe or not, they force you to attend religious services. How they are able to portray themselves to be faith based rehab organization when they lie, deceive, threaten, verbally push you around and treat those who do not bow down to them like scum?
As I stated earlier I walked out because they were not doing anything to help me with my recovery. I also made the decision to leave due to New Beginnings' extreme hypocrisy. Now, you can make the decision to join this hypocritical organization or take all of the aforementioned to heart from someone who was permanently scarred by their lack of treatment.

Client disgruntled after being dismissed!

I am sorry we were not a good fit for you. We hope your next program can provide all the things you require and that you find your recovery! Please feel free to reach out to us if you ever need to come back so we can talk about some of the issues you had and what we can do to help. Thanks.
