Mission: Our mission is to enhance volunteerism and service through our AmeriCorps programs and our volunteer initiative throughout the State of Nevada.
Results: Nevada Volunteers awarded 5 AmeriCorps Program Grants supporting national service activities for 204 AmeriCorps members statewide. Nevada Volunteers managed more than $1,624,986.00 of federal AmeriCorps dollars. Nevada AmeriCorps Members provided 197,237 hours of service in the core areas of education, human needs, environment and public safety. At $20.85 per hour (the value of a volunteer hour set by Bureau of Labor Statistics), Nevada’s AmeriCorps Members’ hours of service is worth $4,112,391.45. Services were provided in: Clark County Lincoln County Douglas County Nye County Elko County Washoe County Humboldt County White Pine County Lander County AmeriCorps Members recruited and managed 7,427 volunteers throughout the state. These volunteers donated more than 53,496 hours of community service valued at $1,115,391.60. And, this is only our AmeriCorps programs! These statistics do not include other Nevada citizens that give their time, talent, and treasure to volunteering in our communities.
