Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The animals in their care are very well taken care of. And they offer good community resources as well. This was one of the first organizations I volunteered with when moving to Las Vegas and their passion for the community and the furry citizens of Las Vegas is unrivaled.
My husband and I love volunteering here. We’ve been volunteering just under a year. We love Merridith and the community here, and always feel good spending time the animals and helping keep the shelter running smoothly. Every task we do, dishes, food pantry, bonding with the animals, etc. is rewarding and we feel appreciated by the staff here. We hope to enhance our involvement by doing outings with dogs, dog walking and more events when our work schedules allow. The animals are so sweet and deserve love and care and while it’s hard seeing some of their hardships we know they are in great hands here until we find them forever homes.
I was a volunteer and foster for the NSPCA for years. I loved walking all of the dogs and had three foster failures over the years. Great organization.
As a volunteer for a little over a year, it has been nothing short of amazing. Everything about the NSPCA is what you’re looking for when choosing a shelter to adopt or foster an animal and to give your time as a volunteer. After retiring from the military, I needed to find something to better utilize my free time and volunteering at the NSPCA has been the answer. You can feel that the atmosphere is positive and welcoming when you walk in. You see that all the animals are cared for and their living spaces are very well maintained. The shelter does a great job in placing animals in the right homes. The personnel at the shelter are pleasant to work with and make you feel that you are a part of the team. The beauty of the shelter is that it has no requirements regarding how much time one needs to put in as a volunteer thus fostering a great environment for volunteers. The team of volunteers are great to work with. Being a servant to the animals is its own reward. I really enjoy volunteering my time at the shelter, and it is very therapeutical for me. It has even led me to adopt two wonderful dogs that have been a gift from heaven. Can’t say enough about the NSPCA.
My grandson and I have been volunteering at the Nevada SPCA for almost 2 years. It’s been such a rewarding experience, working with people who are so committed to helping animals. They have wonderful programs, like giving pet food to people in need. The shelter is always clean, always happy. Please help these people continue their good work!

I have found my home away from home at the Nevada SPCA. I started volunteering in September 2022 and look forward to every week! The staff truly care about each and every animal. I just recently lost my cat and didn’t hesitate to welcome a new family member into my life from here! This is a great place to fill the soul whether you come to volunteer, foster or adopt!
I have been volunteering at Nevada SPCA for almost two years now! My reason for wanting to join was because I wanted to give back all of the love that my sweet boy gave me when I adopted him at this shelter years ago. I quickly fell in love with the inviting atmosphere, kind staff, and their passion for all of the animals. It is a shelter that truly cares and you can see it in the way everything is handled. So amazing.
I’ve been volunteering as a dog walker at Nevada SPCA for over a year now, and I can’t say enough good things about this incredible facility. After losing my dog in 2023, this has been a meaningful way to heal and give back. The staff and volunteers genuinely care for the animals, and it shows in how happy and well cared for they are. The facility is always spotless, and they go above and beyond to create a safe, loving environment for every animal. It’s an honor to be part of their mission!
I have been volunteering and fostering with shelters around the country for more than 2 decades, but no shelter tops my experience with Nevada SPCA. They have multiple ways people can volunteer, and they are so appreciative of everything you do for them, no matter how small. They have very good training and a highly dedicated core set of volunteers that are kind and bonded by their love of the shelter animals. All of their policies are in the best interest of the animals, and their communication, resources, and vet care can’t be beat. They also value foster and volunteer feedback and work together with all groups to create a better shelter experience for all. They also make time and effort to appreciate the fosters and volunteers, which encourages everyone to do more.
We volunteer here as often as possible. Their events are fantastic for the guests and volunteers and animals. Helping these fur babies find homes is the main priority. I’m happy to say most of the animals find their forever family. We adopted our two year old french bulldog mix from the NSPCA two years ago. The love and joy she brings us is beyond measure.
Since moving to Vegas 5 years ago, the NV SPCA has impressed me massively. I have worked in numerous other shelters and SPCAs, and the NV SPCA has been, by far, the best. The facility is incredible and kept pristine by the wonderful staff and volunteers. Since starting to volunteer as a technician with them, it has been nothing short of incredible. They have made me, as well as my sister, feel like family. We look forward to volunteer events like little puppies waiting for their owner! The staff is a group special like no other; warm, welcoming, dedicated, FUN and kind, among so many other wonderful things. I am endlessly thankful to have the relationship I do with this SPCA and will continue to do everything I can to contribute.
LOVE YOU ALL!
I have been volunteering with animals for over 35 years and I am so impressed with the NSPCA. First and foremost the animals are beautifully taken care of. The living spaces ( hate the term cages ) are always clean and water, toys and food are always there. I have been volunteering with them for about a year and have never had an issue with how the animals were taken care of. They do a great job. The staff and volunteers all work together really well. The newer building was very well thought out, and you can tell everyone involved is involved because they love animals. I feel honored to be a part of the whole, love you all.
I have been volunteering for a little over 2 years now. The people who work for this organization are amazing. You can tell how much they all love the animals and want the best for each and every one of them. The events they put on to raise money for the shelter are fantastic. I just can’t say enough about this organization and the people that work there.
We have adopted 2 dogs from Nevada SPCA. For each one, we fostered them first, so we were able to see how they got along with our cats & with each other! The shelter is clean & bright & has such a positive vibe. The staff genuinely care about the animals & finding not just homes for them, but the right homes. I also volunteer, & love it. They are so appreciative & it's easy to work around my schedule. I'd give them more than 5 stars if I could! -Connie
I have been a volunteer for this organization for 6 years and love it so much that I go there at least 6 days a week to walk dogs. The director and staff truly care about the animals and work together as a cohesive team to get them adopted. There is an on site veterinary team for any health problems and of course, all animals are spayed or neutered before they go up for adoption. The organization is actively involved in the community to spread the word about their animals needing homes. The new building which opened a few years ago is designed to give the animals the best care possible until they get their forever homes. And, the shelter’s lifesaving rate was 99.3% in 2022!
Amazing work by the most caring people. The Caring staff and hardworking making sure all animals are well taken care of.
While in the community my family had to say hi and of course pet the sweetest Pitt. We spoke to your volunteer Rachelle who was so helpful and it brought me to tears knowing we have such amazing organization in the Vegas Valley. We plan on donating and encourage others to as well. Thank you for all you do! The Miller Family
It’s one of my happy places in Vegas. Always great to see awesome people doing their best to make sure all local pets in need and their pawrents (food pantry! Medical assistance! Vaccination and microchip clinic!) are taken care of. I recommend NSPCA both as an adopter and volunteer.
I have been a volunteer with the Nevada SPCA for many years, and I have seen it undergo tremendous changes to benefit the animals and humans alike. My husband and I love coming to walk the dogs. The staff is helpful and kind, and the animals are so well taken care of while they wait for their new forever homes. We are proud to be part of this nonprofit. They are making a wonderful difference in our community.
Nevada SPCA is where I found my kitten “cousin it” now named Fiona. The staff was friendly and helpful and the adoption process very smooth. The facility is very clean and well maintained. I would definitely adopt again from the Nevada SPCA.
NSPCA is hands down the most caring animal shelter that I’ve been to. Staff and volunteers truly care about the well-being of all animals that come through the door and it is comforting to see the love. Above all, the facility is very clean and welcoming. I highly recommend NSPCA to anyone looking for a fur baby.
When I first moved to Las Vegas twelve years ago, I knew I wanted to adopt a cat to complete my family. The first place I thought of was the NSPCA. I knew them by reputation only at that point. Long story short, I did adopt my 7 year old girl from the NSPCA. She had been abandoned (her owner moved from her apartment, leaving her behind). Had it not been for the NSPCA taking her in, she'd have ended up on the streets and probably dead. That didn't happen thanks to this fantastic organization. Instead, my husband and I adopted her, spoiled her like crazy and she lived out the rest of her life in complete comfort. Now I volunteer for them. On a regular basis I see how deeply they care about their animals and how hard they work. However over worked they are, I have never seen any staff or volunteers in a poor mood or any negativity. It's a joy filled place considering the mission they have - saving unwanted, neglected and forgotten animals. I recommend them to anyone who will listen. This city would be a worse place for the forgotten animals but for them.
The Nevada SPCA is amazing! They not only care for every single animal's unique needs, but also every single volunteer and person who walks through the front door. As a volunteer I feel included in the SPCA family in every way possible. We are given so many different learning opportunities throughout the year to help expand our knowledge about the animals we work with and are encouraged to build friendships and support other volunteers. They also really care about each animal going to the best house and work hard to ensure they all are going to the right families.
This is a really great place to adopt a pet. You can tell when you first walk in that the staff and volunteers truly care about the animals here. The shelter is very nice and clean and filled with positive energy. The animals are well taken cared for while they are waiting for their home. I encourage anyone looking to adopt or foster to visit Nevada SPCA, you will not be disappointed.
This is the best shelter in Nevada with the kindest most caring people working there. They truly love and care for the animals.
I will always be grateful to Nevada SPCA for letting me adopt Gizmo. I adopted him from there. He is the dog of my heart and light of my life.
I thank Nevada SPCA for all that they do. Gizmo has inspired me to volunteer there and it is the most rewarding experience of my life.
The Nevada SPCA is a fantastic organization that is dedicated to helping pets in need. Their staff is caring and compassionate, and they go above and beyond to ensure that the animals in their care are well-treated and loved. I highly recommend the Nevada SPCA to anyone looking to adopt a pet or donate to a worthy cause.
The team at Nevada SPCA is so wonderful! They are extremely passionate about helping vulnerable pets in the valley, and are also passionate about helping them to find the perfect loving home. Their building is also very clean and the pets look very loved and taken care of. A great place to support and look for your next furry family member!
Nevada SPCA is a wonderful shelter that truly strives to improve the lives of companion animals in Las Vegas. From taking in thousands of animals to the food pantry to helping underserved communities keep their pets Nevada spca exemplifies an A+ shelter. In 2012 I rescued a special needs Chihuahua from them, 11 years later she’s thriving and we’re so thankful every day we rescued her. I’m extremely proud to be on the board and be a small part of their successes.
Had such a great experience with my family at the Nevada SPCA!!! The counselors helped us pick out the perfect addition to our pack!!
A Great non profit organization. Loving caring staff, wonderful Volunteers, a Shelter who rescues from other Shelters a all around fantastic place!
I’ve been volunteering for the NSPCA for a few years now, at first it was a great way to get our and play with puppies that needed socialization but then it grew into a passion for saving the animals that desperately needed it. This animal sanctuary goes above and beyond to ensure no animal is left behind. No matter how old or broken they do their best to get them a forever home and it truly is inspiring!
The staff is so friendly and professional. Their love and care for the animals is absolutely heartwarming! What an amazing group of people and facility!
I got 4 cats from here, I love this place!! I even got my cats tattooed on me they are my 4 legged kids!!!
I adopted my German Shepard from Nevada NSPCA about 8 years ago! I love the staff! Best experience! So glad they are able to help all the animals!
My experience with the Nevada SPCA has been amazing! I am currently fostering to adopt and I cannot believe how caring and involved they have been during this process. When we took home our new pup, Ben, they gave us all the supplies we would need for our first few months of feeding and training. The amount of love and time the employees and volunteers put into caring for these animals is inspiring. What they are doing is a blessing to our community and I am so honored to say I adopted my Ben from the Nevada SPCA!
The Nevada SPCA really cares about the animals that come thru their doors - they treat them like family and want to do what ever they can to find loving forever homes. I foster an 11 year old English bulldog from them and I am so thankful that they are committed to being a no-kill animal shelter!
