Programs: Parkinson's partners: parkinson's partners is a program which services both people with pd and their families, by partnering with professional services, health care providers, and therapists for services they may need in their care. Ncf works to educate both people with pd and their loved ones so they can have a more informed dialogue with their physicians. Ncf also educates our professional care providers about parkinson's disease treatments. Parkinson's families often experience social isolation due to physical and other limitations, therefore ncf provides opporturnities for pd families to meet, and enjoy company all a part of monthly programs in sarasota, nort port and venice.
distinguished speakers: parkinson's patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals are eager for education and information on the latest research, movement therapy, speech therapy and other supportive services. Topics may include the latest in exercise, music therapy, various other therapies and nutrition among topics.
annual parkinson's symposium: this is one of the nation's largest patient, caregiver and health professional summits on parkinson's disease, drawing 500-plus attendees to sarasota memorial's institute for advanced medicine annually. Renowned physicians with specialties in parkinson's speak on the latest research and development. The symposium provides ceu's for healthcare professionals and information for patients. Topics may include the latest in stem cell research, deep brain stimulation and pharmaceutical developments among other topics.
