The Ness County Bank Building is a long standing historic icon located in western Kansas. It has been a community project directed by hard work, financial donations, and involvement of hundreds. It is used as a community building, a historical monument, and a photographic delight for those traveling through Ness City. It is also home to a quaint shop, The Prairie Mercantile… showcasing Kansas gifts and more. It is maintained and operated by a volunteer Board whose non-profit finances are through grants and private donations. A sight to see! Stop by for a tour when visiting Ness City…you’ll be glad you took the time. Oh, they say it is haunted - you can sign-up for a scary haunting as well! (See their Facebook page for upcoming events.)
This beautiful historic bank building is an awesome tribute to our past pioneers. It is maintained solely with private funds and the small community should be very proud of this accomplishment!!!
