I have volunteered in the Children and Parents pre-school program (“Adelante Juntos”) for years at this agency that helps immigrants become confident, productive members of their community. The support given at Neighbors Link goes above and beyond my expectations. Family dinner night, Christmas shopping market, legal advice, emergency crisis support, ESOL classes, technology classes, job training, and an overall welcoming, happy environment are just some of the things found here. All of the personnel I have interacted with are kind, caring, smart, and extremely welcoming.
It is terrific to see former clients working here to help others and offer a genuine understanding of issues in their community.

Excellent locally-based agency that helps immigrants become productive members of the community. They care for all ages from newborn to the elders. Job training, ESL, parent child together classes, legal services to help people become citizens, they cover it all! Also a very welcoming place to volunteer.

I have volunteered most of my life with a variety organizations. My short tenure with Neighbors Link has been fulfilling and fun.getting to know the children, their moms and an occasional dad is so uplifting. When a child walks into a room with their arms outstretched and a smile on their face your heart melts. When the mom entrusts you with her precious little one and goes off to her English class, you know all this is worth while. You know this mom has come to America for a better life for herself and her family. Neighbors Link strives to help these families attain this goal and this dream.
This was my dream when I immigrated to the USA with my family.

Neighbor's Link has an awesome parenting program, Adelante Juntos, which includes both parents and children. The parents and kids start class off together and then quickly divide into separate rooms. The parents day may range anywhere from a speaker to a hot topic discussion to a Zumba class! Meanwhile in the classroom the children enjoy playtime, circle-time, singing, various activities and snack. For the last half hour of the session everyone is together again and the children partake in activities along with their parents. During the course of the year there are many special activity days, examples include: - (see pictures) - birthday parties, swimming days, bridal showers and cultural days. Not only is it wonderful to see everyone making friends, but watching the children's growth and development throughout the year is just tremendous. Way to go Neighbor's Link! Keep up the good work!! So proud to be a part of this incredible organization.

I have been volunteering with Neighbors Link for roughly a year, and am grateful for every second of that time. Neighbors Link is a coalition of dynamic, compassionate, motivated, highly-effective people who are wholeheartedly dedicated to their collective mission. As impressive as the Neighbors Link staff is, Neighbors Link's clients are even more inspiring. Every single one of them has endured significant hardship, and with the current administration and rising tide of white nationalism, the challenges and risks they face have only grown more severe. In the face of an omnipresent and unpredictable threat, they devote their free time to bettering themselves so they can make a better life for their families. It is a true honor to play my extremely minor role in helping them do so.

I have been volunteering at Neighbors Link for almost a year and am amazed at how much this wonderful group does for the community by helping immigrants assimilate into it. The very well organized Worker Center facilitates community members hiring workers to perform skilled and unskilled tasks. I've hired workers and been very pleased. This organization also provides legal services and ESL classes. I volunteer in a Parenting Center program, caring for children ages 1-5 while their parents (mostly moms) participate in classes on a variety of topics, such health, parenting, legal rights, how to use the community library, etc. All of these classes help the parents become better citizens of their community and country. While volunteering I've learned that all the families here have the same goals that we have- to work hard to provide for their families, to better themselves, and to give their children opportunities through a good education. I look forward to volunteering here for many years!

I began teaching ESL to Neighbors Link clients and found that this is an amazing organization serving wonderful new immigrants. NL is run by amazing staff and making a huge difference in the lives of those they serve and the community at large. I am now on the executive board of the Friends of Neighbors Link. My live has been so enriched by everyone involved with this truly wonderful organization.

The mission of Neighbors Link is “to strengthen our community by actively enhancing the healthy integration of recent immigrants.” We all know what a challenge this is as tensions surrounding the presence of immigrants continue to simmer in many of our communities. Neighbors Link has become a national model for successfully addressing the realities of immigration in peaceful and positive ways.
