Mission: Neighbors along the line helps individuals meet their basic needs and also provides opportunities for development and increased independence.
Programs: Our organization provides food, medical care, & educational services and a variety of other human needs and self-development assistance to qualified individuals residing in a 5. 5 square mile area of tulsa, as well as residents of sand springs. In 2016 we partnered with the osu center for health sciences allowed us to increase our clinic times to serve more patients. In our medical clinic we provided free medical and dental care to 695 patients as well as assistance with over 1,700 prescriptions. We provided lab tests, immunizations, flu shots, free dental care for 150 patients, hearing and vision screenings and other related services. In our food pantry, we distributed food to 6,100 people. This provided enough food to make nutritious meals. That is a 12% increase in the number of people we served over 2015 and a 85% increase since 2008. In our literacy program, over 140 students enrolled in our ged program, and over 650 people received tutoring assistance and used the literacy lab. Internet access and job search assistance was available to area residents in our lab, as well as books through our lending library and other services. Our community activities program continues to offer assistance programs such as utility assistance, holiday assistance, wic, legal aid and 12 step programs, as well as enrichment programs such as senior bingo, life skills classes, a children's summer reading program, after school programs and other community events to promote unity. We partner with a variety of other agencies to make as many services as possible available from our location.
