Results: Since 2014, NHSKC has trained 902 households in Home Buyer Education and helped 292 buy their first home. Since 2014, the minor home repair program completed 113 projects for $771,213, helping low to moderate-income home owners remain in their homes and avoid code violations. The Financial Wellness Initiative involves encouraging our home owners to develop estate plans to transition the family wealth to the next generation.

Programs: Housing development and management: nhs has traditionally engaged in community revitalization by building new homes and acquiring and rehabilitating existing homes in kansas city core urban neighborhoods. Utilizing partnerships with local governments and other non-profit agencies, nhs has participated in the home program, cdbg program, nsp and other federally and privately funded activities to help reduce the number of vacant lots and abandoned properties in these areas. However, nhs now offers services throughout the entire metro area, on both sides of the state line.
