Programs: Child care and social development - youth child care was provided for 301 children, from six weeks to twelve years old, from july 2016-june 2017, serving primarily low-income families. Neighborhood house has a free preschool for all programs for children who are at risk, which helps them meet their social, emotional, and academic milestones, allowing them to be more successful in school. For children in the before/after school program and summer camp, the program offers homework help, exercise, social manners, respect, citizenship, nutrition counseling, art and music appreciation, as well as recreational activities. Neighborhood house association also operates a program at illini bluffs school in glasford, illinois. This program provides a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for children five to twelve years of age.
meals on wheels home delivered meals neighborhood house association delivered 109,217 meals to homebound seniors over 60 in the city of peoria from july 2016-june 2017. There is no financial criterion for this program. Seniors qualify for meals because they can no longer shop or cook for themselves due to illness, disability, or frailty. This program also provides meals to people under the age of 60 whose disabilities make grocery shopping and cooking difficult. The program is funded by central illinois agency on aging, heart of illinois united way, illinois department of human services, and the federal emergency management administration. The program also depends on donations and community reimbursements. Weekday noon, evening, and weekend meals are delivered through this program.

rural peoria congregate and home delivered meals neighborhood house association contracted with central illinois agency on aging as meal provider for the rural peoria county meals program. 34,342 meals were served from july 2016 - june 2017. Community outreach neighborhood house association provided a variety of programs from july 2016 - june 2017. Neighborhood house provided 690 food boxes through the food pantry and 63 boxes of diapers and formula. Neighborhood house holiday programs served 570 children with our toy shop, 185 children through angel tree and 1,700 seniors in the santa for seniors program. Neighborhood house provided 17,073 evening meals to children onsite and at dream center. Neighborhood house provided 2,112 meals in the summer to children at neighborhood house, common place and sunnyland. Neighborhood house also provided over 400 children at neighborhood house and 5 other non-profits with snack packs during the year. 13 churches provided 3,500 hot meals on sundays to those in need at neighborhood house. Critter meals on wheels neighborhood house association served 134 critters with critters meals on wheels from july 2016 - june 2017. This program is funded by grants and local support. Workforce development and financial literacy-adult from march 2017- june 2017, neighborhood house provided employment services and financial counseling to 40 individuals. Ten people were placed in jobs, of which 8 of them successfully remained employed over 30 days. Of the 40 individuals seen, 5 clients increased their credit scores, 10 increased net income, and 3 increased net worth.
