lending and profit based program - the lending and profit based program provides funds to start-up and existing businesses. Ndc has a two million dollar revolving loan fund. Loans are granted to businesses that meet certain geographical, income, and ethnic requirements. A portion of available funds is used for islamically acceptable financing. During 2014, ndc approved 63 loans - 20 small business loans ($50k or larger) and 43 microloans (less than $50k) totaling $2,825,201 in primary and other target neighborhoods.
technical assistance program - encourage growth of new and existing businesses in the community. In 2014, ndc provided over 6,000 hours of technical assistance to 328 businesses in high-need target neighborhoods.
micro - entrepreneur training program offers weekly training sessions which guide participants in how to own and operate their own business. By the end of the training session, the participant will have developed a business plan and have had individual sessions with a professional training consultant. Ndc works with neighborhood partners to enhance their capacity to create and conduct economic development initiatives within their own communities. During 2014, ndc and its neighborhood partners offered 21 entrepreneur training classes to 257 enrolled aspiring entrepreneurs from various ethnic groups and neighborhoods. Ndc offered 48 workshops in tow locations in saint paul to over 278 individuals/businesses.
