I really hope that someone will see this. I have been a client of TNCWV ever since they took over my lease when i lived in South Daytona. I was raised in an abusive family and was kicked to the curb when I was 18 years old. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at an early age and developed a serious drug habit to deal with the abuse and hypocrisy of my own so-called family. I spent 25 years on the streets of Daytona chasing drugs and foolishness in and out of jail with no one to turn to and no where to go. I bounced around from place to place working many jobs mostly lawn/motel maint and eventually ended up living in the woods to get away from people. They can be so cruel sometimes. At about 40 years old after my last time in jail i was blessed to get into the Housing First program run by Serenity House. I was in residential treatment for 3 1/2 years. They Were so supportive and helped me file for my disability which i didnt even know I could get. I waited 1 1/2 years to get into permanent supportive housing and really started to make progress and could finally breathe easy. That is until Serenity House was reformed into Haven recovery which then became Windward and associates. They stole most of the donor money and we were all left hanging. Thats where TNCWV came in and took over the leases of about half of us. The rest were dumped on Salvation Army. Thats where things took a very bad turn. It turned into a slum lord crack house. THE hookup spot for anyone in South Daytona to get drugs. I complained and complained and told them it was causing me to relapse as well but all my words fell on deaf ears. They bill themselves as the place with a heart but in my experience they are anything but. They only showed up to collect rent and make a showing but were only concerned with collecting their paychecks. I started to get really depressed and started getting louder and louder and what did I get from The Place with a heart. A notice that my lease would not be renewed. With no work record for years and a criminal history no landlord would talk to me and even if they did I couldnt afford the rents and food and have any kinda life at all. Finally they relented after I threatened legal action. I begged them to move me into a decent apartment and do repairs like they are supposed to and once again they promised it would be ok. Guess what. Now Im stuck in Deland in the biggest slumlord drug infested apartment in the city. Even the cops who were on the property today to deal with one of their crackhead residents told me they have nothing but problems with this place. Ive only been here a few months and had to file with The Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Division to get repairs done after being lied to for nearly four months saying they couldn't get anyone to respond. Guess what? After they recieved a copy of my filing all of a sudden everything got fixed within 7 days. But for four months they swore to my face they couldnt do it. There were constant drugs deals, drug dealers, crack whores and street people in and out of here like cockroaches everyday and night until i coulndt take it anymore and ONCE AGAIN threatened legal action. A caseworker showed up the next morning and some other neighbors who arent in the program verified just how bad the drug traffic is here in what is supposed to be safe supportive housing for mentally ill homeless drug addicts. The place with a heart is nothing of the sort. They just dump off their problems for someone else to deal with and then fill their website with all the "good deeds". Its bullshit plain and simple. I know cause im stuck living here and dont know what to do. Now I am public enemy number one here cause I spoke up once again . They use us to make easy money plain and simple. There is no program. There are no drug tests or accountability. It seems they picked this place to dump us because it is mostly a non-english speaking apartment building where anything goes and no-one questions anything. I dont know what to do who to trust or where to go for help. Obviously I cant count on the place with a heart cause they dont have one. No one cares. We are a means to and end period. One last thing. If anyone is considering donating to them please consider us. We never see anything good come our way. They have even tried to illegally evict me just ten days after i moved in all because i couldnt understand the manager one morning and argued with him about having plants and a chair in front of my apartment. Everyone else did but I was the outsider. They told him i was a trouble maker from the beginning. All i want is a peaceful place to live with people of my own culture i can understand so i can make friends and move forward in life after fighting with these back-stabbing liars for years. Can anyone help me PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just in case anyone cares heres an email to reach me.
