Needymeds.org is a game-changer for anyone struggling to afford healthcare. Their website is super easy to use and in addition to helping patients, like myself, find financial resources for medications and treatment, it also offers much needed educational resources. As someone with multiple chronic conditions, I appreciate that NeedyMeds is condition agnostic. I highly recommend signing up for one of their webinars as a great starting point!
I need help learning what to do with my newly filled sharps container. Since my husband and I live in a rural area I reached out to these kind people. They have been so gracious to us.
Thank you so much!
They are so helpful with or without insurance. I am a family doctor and many of my uninsured/underinsured patients would not be able to get their life saving medications without the help of NeedyMeds. 6 Stars!!
I am a registered nurse and just spoke with Dana Walker. She helped me and provided several resources for three of my patients that need assistance with both their diagnosis related problems and medications ordered to treat their symptoms that they cannot afford. Dana was very professional and helpful. Sympathetic to my patients needs. During our call she never make me feel rushed and she answered every question that I asked. She has wonderful customer service skills. I am grateful that she is the person that answered the phone when I called for help. I wish more people were like her. Suzanne Keller, RN BSN
NeedyMeds is a fantastic organization and very deserving of support. Information is readily available regarding where each of us stand with the federal low income guidelines. I have used NeedyMeds information to assist me with applications for Patient Assistance programs successfully twice. I recently had difficulty finding a place to turn in my used insulin syringes in a sharps container. I asked blindly online and Leah from NeedyMeds promptly responded. Leah listed two places to request free sharps containers and who to ask for mailing labels to ship the filled containers without cost to an organization that disposes of them safely. Go to needymeds.org to find a wealth of information about many, many health care and life issues. There is help available in abundance!

I would like to acknowledge the knowledge, kindness and compassion of Dana who answered my customer service call seeking information about grant opportunities. She never lost patience no matter how many questions I asked during a very anxious time. When most times, patients get tossed from person to person, department to department with no resolution, someone like Dana is the rare exception.
I am M.Maheswari from Hosur(Tamil Nadu), India.
However, on March 28, 2024, I was blessed with the birth of preterm twin
boys. The hospital doctor has recommended that the babies be kept in the
NICU (Ventillator) for at least six weeks or longer due to their preterm
delivery. Unfortunately, the interventions required for their care come at
an approximate cost of 40–45 lakhs.
As I am currently in a difficult financial situation and I am looking for
assistance with these expenses, I come to you with a humble request for
support. I understand that this may be an unusual request, but I am hopeful
that you will understand the urgent nature of my situation and the special
circumstances surrounding it.
I kindly request that you consider offering some financial assistance with
these medical expenses. Even a small contribution would make a huge
difference in helping me ensure that my babies receive the care they need
to thrive and stay healthy. I would be deeply grateful for any support you
can offer.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my request. I really appreciate
your time and attention.
Sincerely,
Maheswari

Dana at NeedyMeds.org was so helpful. I suffer from a multitude of cognitive problems where I get nervous. Dana helped ease my anxiety and was very willing to see what programs are available to me.
We found a couple of things I might qualify for. I am truly greatful!
Provided fast and efficient information on how to dispose of Hazardous Sharps Containers in Georgia.
I would like to send my sincerest thanks to Ms. Leah, for providing info on how to dispose of Hazardous Sharps Containers and general recycling in Greenville GA. Via the State Guidelines for home generated needle disposal. Contact Safe Needle Disposal, a project of NeedyMeds.
I am sharing a link to this Facebook page in various Greenville Meriwether County GA Newsletters and Community Chat sites!
Needy Meds has been a long-time partner to the SHINE Medicare counseling program in MA. As counselors in the community, we often meet people who cannot afford their medications, learn that a new medication is not on their current plan's formulary, or it cannot be in generic form so will be too expensive. To help them find an affordable alternative, discount program or card, we turn to Needy Meds, and they are always professional and eager to help out the consumer at no cost to them.
As a service coordinator for an elderly HUD property, NeedyMeds is a great resource to help my residents find a resource to help pay for medications. The website is user friendly making it easy to navigate .
The webinars are very informative covering a variety of topics that are helpful.
NeedyMeds did a great presentation for local healthcare workers to learn more about NeedyMeds and all it has to offer.
Helpful resource to locate savings, and organizations that provide financial assistance for medications that exceed the affordability of most people's budget.
I have been working with NeedyMeds for over a decade and the website has become our go-to. They offer a comprehensive database of information for our staff members to help the public access medications and care. Our work would be much more labor intensive without the resources that NeedyMeds makes available to the public. Thank you for the work you do!
I work at a hospital system and am thankful to have a organization like NeedyMeds to help patients get medications that can be so expensive.
Thank you NeedyMeds
I had a great experience with Needymeds. My brother was just diagnosed with MS and he had no insurance. I referred him to you, and he was able to pay for his $700+ medication paying only $14.00
I found NeedyMeds is true to their mission …working to help patients receive affordable health care through patient discount cards and access to patient assistance programs.
I found Dr. Sagall and his team very easy to work with & they are true advocates for patients.
This is the only site that was able to give me information on disposal of needles and sharps.
They even "went the extra mile" by getting extra knowledge about my location.!
They should publish this information to the public!
My mother was recently diagnosed with leukemia. Thanks to NeedyMeds extensive list of resources I have been able to find assistance for her for things like, transportation to and from appointments, discounts for needed vitamins, financial assistance, etc.
To say the least NeedyMeds has given my mom and rest of the family hope and a peace of mind through this tough situation. There is help out there!!! Thank you NeedyMeds!
I met with a representative of Needy Meds and it was an awesome experience. They were very informative and as a Case Manager of Persevere, I know we can count on them to help us out with our participants if and when we need them. Carla in the end sent a whole recap of what transpired on our call so I could send it to the correct person. I would recommend Neddy Meds to anyone that need help with anything to do with healthcare.
I have been receiving Diagnosis Assistance Programs updates weekly. They have helped me find programs that have benefitted me and my friends to whom I have passed the info. I have info on medical devices, programs for people with sight problems and cancer. NeedyMeds.org is a terrific source of information.
We have been partnered with NeedyMeds for years now, and have found this organization to be so powerful and impactful! Their offerings are so generous, at no-cost to partners, and I've utilized their resource banks over and over again. To know I can direct clients to NeedyMeds for discounts on prescriptions they otherwise can't afford, AND offer them a Giving Kitchen branded drug card, is satisfying and reassuring. NeedyMeds newsletters offer such valuable information, and I often use their resource banks for guidance on where to direct research for partnership development in areas of physical health. Even after years of being their partner, I still find new ways they assist us and anyone that accesses their website. Tuesday of this week, I realized I could search for financial assistance programs based on diagnoses! What!
Their resources are extensive and maintained; their webinars are relevant and informative, and their Director of Education Initiatives, Carla, is a godsend. I lean on this organization often for my own use, and feel confident sending information from NeedyMeds to clients across the country.
NeedyMeds is all you can possibly want from a great nonprofit organization. They do everything in their power to truly help patients. They are giving, caring, collaborative in all of their endeavors. I sincerely appreciate everything NeedyMeds does to help patients. Keep up the good work!
I had been trying to find out how I could properly dispose of my filled Sharps containers. I asked my Doctor - she wasn't sure. I asked my insurance company (as they provide the Sharps Container and Meds) they didn't know. I asked my pharmacist - wasn't sure, but they didn't take them back. Fire Station - still a nope, not them.
I finally found SafeNeedles (NeedyMeds) through the FDA website. They were extremely quick to provide me detailed information for how to properly dispose of the containers in my State! I can't say how much I appreciate their assistance.
The Helpline Representative gave me 3 numbers to help offset the cost of a prescription my son who is struggling with bipolar desperately needed. Thank you for being there with resources.
As a Medicare counselor, I am well aware of how often, even with a Part D prescription drug plan, medication deductibles and co-pays can make accessing needed medications out of reach for some people. Needymeds is a wonderful, alternative for patients to access their needed medications in a more affordable way.
This is the most amazing organization! You can search their website by diagnosis or medication and find all kinds of help, financial assistance, prescription assistance programs, even scholarships and transportation. The help that they provide is amazing.
NeedyMeds is an incredible tool available to all patients who need help and assistance with their prescription medication and OTC meds. With Needymeds Drug Discount Card, you can save up to 80% off the cash price of your prescriptions, OTC medications and pet prescriptions purchases. NeedyMeds doesnt only offer drug discount cards, but you can also Stay up-to-date on clinical trials, treatment options and research findings about your medical condition with Medivizor. Get information relevant to your diagnosis delivered right to your inbox. Awesome health services.
This is a wonderful resource for patients and healthcare providers alike. Not only does it provide information from a cost savings perspective but its educational and provides assistance in all areas (transportation, clinic access and scholarships). Easy to navigate and a great initiative!
Needymeds not only provides patients struggling to pay for their medications with options but also provides them with information about services available to them at lower costs.
I personally have not used Needy Meds. I imagine that it would work like any other discount card for medications and equipment. It will only pay for a portion of the costs (UP TO a certain number). That does not mean you will receive the max discount available. This is a very important piece of information to understand. The knowledge of other available programs to help with copays and medical/dental/vision needs is quite interesting.
As someone who works with patients as a pharmacy intern, I see firsthand the challenge some patients face when it comes to affording their medications. NeedyMeds offers a brilliant way for patients to save money and afford the prescriptions they need.
As a pharmacy student who just got introduced to NeedyMeds, I find it to be an excellent tool to further enhance patients' care. NeedyMeds provides outstanding resources aim at completing health management of patients' diseases, in order to achieve great results. The website is very user friendly and effective. NeedyMeds fills the missing gap in delivering health care to patients --the continuous and patient centered care. NeedyMeds is also a great tool to add to any physician's practice to enhance their patient care and achieve improved therapy adherence.
NeedyMeds provides an extremely helpful resource for saving our patients money - something everyone can benefit from!
One of the best services that needy meds' offers is access to most pharmaceutical companies pharmacy assistance programs. These programs give people free medication if they meet eligibility guidelines. The income requirements are quite generous.
As a pharmacy student, I have encountered many people who need help with their prescription medications, especially patients who do not have health insurance or whose medications are not covered under their plan. Thanks to the RXVIP concierge, I use NeedyMeds as a backbone resource for delivering care, compassion, and empathy for our patients. I make sure that we put our patients first and provide the best care they need. Thanks to NeedyMeds, I can provide education and help patients with their healthcare.
NeedyMeds is an amazing nonprofit that aims to help patients get medicine and medical care that are necessary and tailored to that patient. It is a seem-less process that aims to improve patient care.
As an educator of students in the pharmacy profession, we use NeedyMeds as a backbone resource for our delivery of care, compassion and empathy for our patients. The extensive resource library and the ongoing support is outstanding and sets the bar for other affiliate partners we have to reach. The people we work with are all accessible and available to be there whenever we need them. NeedyMeds helps us establish our culture of always putting the patient first.
My experience with NeedyMeds has always been above the bar when it comes to their commitment to the patients we serve. Carla has been our angle and Richard is always there to bring our vision to reality. For seven years they have been there for me and our team so we look forward to the next decade at least
of care, compassion and empathy thorough this great partnership
Kind of hard to find what I am looking for . I was searching for COVID 19 premium assistance for Cobra insurance
Our daughter's been trying to locate a local location to safely dispose of her sharps containers that don't change a fee, but had no luck. Pharmacies and other common sense locations don't accept them. I did more research and reached out via email and Leah promptly provided the information we needed...for us, it's as easy as duct taping lids closed, properly marking the containers "do not recycle" and placing them in our trash recepticals for pickup. Couldn't have been easier! Thank you, Leah...it will be great to get all of the containers out of our home!!!
I am a Patient Advocate and Navigator. The Needy Meds organization provides and service of GREAT value to my clients! I always make sure that they are very aware of and comfortable using the Needy Meds Website.....as it offers a wealth of information to them. So many times I have had clients and even personal friends say they had no idea all of these services were available.
Also, the Webinars that Needy Meds offers are always of the highest quality and so much information can be gained from them!
Thanks, to Needy Meds for all of the information that they offer us!
I am Rabble Health's Chief of Staff, and NeedyMeds has been a fantastic partner to work with. I first reached out to Dr. Sagall in either late 2020 or early 2021 to see if they would want to work with a digital health start-up. From the beginning, they have welcomed us as a partner with open arms, and the NeedyMeds team has been wonderful to work with. Dr. Sagall, Ms. Hoffman and everybody else has been very kind and helpful. It is because of NeedyMeds that we have the myRabble NeedyMeds Drug Discount Card. NeedyMeds is a great organization working to improve the lives of patients everywhere.
NeedyMeds provides an excellent resource for individuals, employers, brokers, and consultants seeking information on how to identify and utilize services to access care in the most cost-effective manner. There are significant healthcare cost-savings opportunities in the market for medications and other services and NeedyMeds consolidates that information into a single, easy-to-use site.
Needy Meds is an outstanding example of the generous and dedicated non-profits who are dedicated to serving the needs of those persons living with cancer.
Needy Meds understands the complexities of accessing critical medications at reasonable costs and has streamlined the process to apply for needed meds.
Further, Needy Meds has presented much needed and excellent webinars to educate the cancer community about issues of great importance. The seminars serve to strengthen the medical as well as emotional needs of the cancer patients and deepen the healing process.
Needymeds creates much needed resources for patients to access critical information to help them receive financial assurance advocate for themselves, and understand avenues of access.
I can't say enough positive things about NeedyMeds.
Their willingness to help anyone that calls and constantly searching for new programs is great! I wish that more people were aware of NeedyMeds and their services because they are truthful and helpful, not two things a lot of organizations have anymore.
We have been working with NeedyMeds for awhile now and have received excellent, up to date information from them to help our clients with medication access. We continously use their abundance of resources and sign up for their webinars. Thank you for always being helpful.
I work with uninsured, low income people who need medications for many different kinds of medical issues. Needy meds is always a valuable tool in finding assistance for them.
I am always looking for webinars that will help me assist my patients with accessing their medications. I find the webinars that NeedyMeds offers are always informative and useful in my work.
I am very thankful for all that Needy Meds does to assist the consumer and educate the others who assist people in need!
Pam Taylor, Pharmacy Coordinator
With the chaos just trying to survive in today's insane, seemingly "Cut-throat" society we all try to co-exist. I wish I had the impactful words to express how refreshing it was to come accross NeedyMeds and the plethora of different options they are able TO OFFER THE PUBLIC at either a deep discount or FOR FREE!!! Myself I needed help with my teeth, through a near fatal motorcycle accident a few years ago, I lost 7 plus 1 chipped. So basically I walk around looking like a hockey player, hehehe. My self confidence has been abused for many years and I know that is one of my 1st steps to me overcoming this socially crippling hurdle. NeedyMeds THE 1st Stop, my 1st SOURCE to fix what is ailing me physically with what is ailing you but as well as emotionally and can assist with Counselling to help talk through any issues you need assistance with. THIS GROUP IS A GODSEND!!!!
This charity deserves far more than 5 stars. NeedyMeds provides such a COMPREHENSIVE guide for finding ways to make prescription medications more affordable. They also go BEYOND this to provide resources for finding help covering medical transportation expenses, medical equipment expenses, and even low-cost/sliding scale clinics!!
This is a total GOLDMINE!
In need of keppra, 1000 MG tablets. Can't afford the almost $500 a month price.

This is the most amazing nonprofit. They help people find the drugs they need at the best possible price, using so many wonderful resources. They also provide searches by medical condition for resources and grants. In addition, they have webinars on various health and medical topics. They also have an amazing alternative to Gofundme where they make sure the contributions go to the medical bills and even negotiate down the medical bills. The customer service is so helpful and professional. The wonderful work done by this organization is enough to restore faith in humanity!
I am a Medicare counselor and assist beneficiaries in finding the best Part D, prescription coverage plan that works with their pharmacy, However, sometimes, even with the most affordable plan, the co-pays can be quite high. So I assist them in reviewing the patient assistant programs available through needymeds.org. These programs have been invaluable to many folks whose budgets would be strained to the max without them or they simply would not be able to take their much needed prescriptions!
NeedyMeds has helped hundred of my consumers to get free prescription assistance or reduced prescription prices using the NeedyMeds discount card.
Previous Stories
NeedyMeds is helping our Elderly and People with disabilities to get more affortable prescriptions. Needymeds has helped many of my client thought the website to find assistance with manufactures. our clients are also using their discount card to get more economical prices on prescriptions.
My pharmacist told me my new drug prescription would cost $132 for a one month supply. When I showed my NeedyMeds drug discount card, they looked it up right away and determined the medicine would only cost $60, a monthly savings of $72! It was quick and easy with the NeedyMeds card.
NeedyMeds is a great help to me. Now ,i know how to dispose my used lancets the right way.
Thank you so much Leah for answering my question right away.
Forever grateful,

My husband is a diabetic and trying to navigate his prescription costs was frustrating. I was able to use Needymeds to find programs to help greatly reduce the amount that we pay for the same prescriptions now. without the information found on the Needymeds website I would have never known about the programs that are available to consumers.
I was without insurance, and facing a high cost for my medication. The NeedyMeds drug discount card saved me 70% of the cost at my local pharmacy. Thank you!
I was in a situation where getting my continuous glucose monitor was proving to be extremely difficult and expensive. Needymeds helped me and made the whole process quick and easy. I've been getting my CGM for months now, delivered to my door, no issues. They made a huge difference.
SafeNeedlesDisposal.org led me to this AWESOME website about safe needle disposal. It connected me with various resources for me to investigate and learn more about safe needle disposal in my area since moving from Cambridge to Arlington. I learned that my new city has a safe needle disposal program.
I even found out that my pharmaceutical company provided FREE sharps containers. I ordered them and they arrived in the mail. Been a wonderful experience with NeedyMeds and their sister programs. Keep up the great work!

Our members have turned to NeedyMeds over & over again, as they are a trusted & valuable resource for finding help with medication needs. They are able to help many of our members who otherwise would not have a resource. Just last week, I had a member report that they had found a program through NeedyMeds & could not be happier with the compassion & help. Keep up the great work!

I have had the opportunity to work with Carla as a volunteer, and she is a great leader by keeping me informed with everything NeedyMeds is doing to support the community.
Whenever I run low on materials, with a simple email to Carla, I will have materials again.
I look forward to more opportunities to raise awareness of what NeedyMeds is doing in the community.
Flyers of two events where I told people about NeedyMeds!
It has been a pleasure working with NeedyMeds. The staff are professional, very knowledgeable and helpful.
The Epilepsy Association serves an average of 600 uninsured/economically disadvantaged patients a month and having a resource like NeedyMeds to find medications, services, etc. for them and for my staff is invaluable!
Great people - Great Program.

The workers are extremely rude and talk down to you like you are stupid. I'm disabled from brain cancer treatment and two different workers I spoke with on the phone were practically yelling at me. Some serious management problems going on here.
NeedyMeds, is a wonderful national nonprofit that provides a comprehensive and reliable source of information on assistance programs available for people having difficulties paying for their medications or healthcare expenses. What makes NeedyMeds unique is that they maintain the largest database for these types of programs and provide their services free and anonymously. The NeedyMeds staff and leadership are compassionate about the work they do and help patients who often have inadequate health insurance coverage or are struggling because the cost burden is overwhelming for the medicines they and their families need. Every week, NeedyMeds helps thousands of patients and their caregivers find these programs and even help them through the enrollment process. They achieve this through their helpline 800-503-6897 and their website www.NeedyMeds.org.
As Director of Special Projects for the BeMedWise Program at NeedyMeds (BeMedWise.org), we are helping consumers be more informed about their healthcare by promoting the safe use of medicines through trusted communication for better health.
As a medical home health social worker I am frequently tasked with finding solutions to help our patients afford their medication. In a state without Medicaid expansion and with more and more social programs being de-funded, it is a true blessing to have Needy Meds as a resource. Without the coordinated efforts of this agency many of my patients would have to forego taking their medications and risk of re-hospitalization and continued decline in their health.
I was introduced to NeedyMeds shortly after it was organized. As then the Executive Director of a national nonprofit working to stimulate and promote safe and appropriate use of medication, the ability to refer patients, healthcare providers and caregivers to NeedyMeds for support and assistance with accessing necessary medications helped fill a tremendous void. NeedyMeds' approach to fulfilling its mission is one of high-quality expertise, professionalism and compassion. Their staff is well-trained and prepared to provide services related to accessing high-cost / high-need medicines, as well as providing educational resources through the BeMedWise Program @ NeedyMeds to better equip and enable patients and caregivers to safely use / administer, store and dispose of unused medicines.
NeedyMeds also maintains a database of free- and low-cost medical clinics, also a tremendous resource to help consumers in need of access to medical care.
The commitment of NeedyMeds is reflected in the fact that its founder and president is a physician, who has spent his medical career working on behalf of all patients to ensure access to otherwise unattainable medications.
NeedyMeds is a wonderful organization! I've worked with patients who do not have insurance and cannot afford their medication. When a pharmacy uses a patient's NeedyMeds card, it can help that patient get the medication they need. NeedyMeds makes it easy for patients to access discounts on their prescriptions at their local pharmacy. In addition to their free discount cards, the NeedyMeds website has information on many other patient assistance programs and health topics. NeedyMeds has a long history of helping people and it's clear that's their goal!
I have worked with Dr. Rich Sagall and NeedyMeds for more than 10 years. His genuine concern for the patients he and his organization serves is evident in all their interactions. NeedyMeds provides resources to patients in need of medical services and pharmacy prescription discounts. NeedyMeds has a heart for the uninsured and under insured population and truly makes a difference in people's lives. It is a pleasure to partner with this organization.
NeedyMeds is a high-quality, critically needed resource for people who can’t afford their prescription meds. It provides access to patient assistance programs that provide free or low-cost drugs for illnesses like diabetes, asthma, cancer, high blood pressure, and depression.
Information about program eligibility and benefits is available online and over the phone anywhere in the US. NeedyMeds assistance and information is always free and anonymous – no registration, no red tape.
I had been renting a nebulizer through Medicare, to deal with my asthma. I decided that I would like to own one, rather than continue to rent one. When I contacted NeedyMeds to see if I could use their discount card to purchase a nebulizer, I learned that nebulizers were not something that the company supported. Within a week of my inquiry, NeedyMeds changed its policy, and I was able to purchase my own nebulizer with the NeedyMeds discount. Thank you, NeedyMeds, for being so responsive!
NeedyMeds is my go-to organization for assisting my clients with affordable medication access. I find this is a great resource for finding the many programs available to help with the high cost of many medications for those in need. NeedyMeds has provided comfort and easy access to medications for those who could not purchase particular medications because of the high out-of-pocket costs of these medications. I would highly recommend NeedyMeds based on my outcome with assisting my community members.

I have been using NeedyMeds since it first came out. I work in outpatient mental health in an area that was hit hard by the recession. I had been aware of some of the programs available before, however, this site has made it so much easier to navigate.
I recommend this site to everyone I know, clients, friends, family. Your site has helped save hundreds of thousands of dollars for so many people.
Personal story: An online friend of mine emailed me and asked me if I would possibly be able to help her. Her mother had been diagnosed with lung cancer, and the medication to help her prolong her life with quality was almost $20,000 a month. She had part of the name of the pharmaceutical company, and with the help of NeedyMeds, I was able to give her the contact information. Her mom was able to enjoy another year of life, holidays, etc.
Thank you so much.

Dear Roxanne, Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your friend's story. It means a lot to us that NeedyMeds was able to help in such a difficult situation. And we appreciate how you have shared NeedyMeds with others. If you have any suggestions as to how we can improve our website or the information on it, please do let us know. Best wishes, Laurie-Marie Pisciotta Outreach & Education Coordinator laurie@needymeds.org
NeedyMeds is a fantastic resource for helping people get the medicine and medical care they need. Not only does NeedyMeds offer an extensive list of medications that are offered at free or lower cost for those in need, but there are also copay cards and savings that are not income based. How many of us had had a medical or dental issue and not had insurance? NeedyMeds offers a comprehensive list of clinics that can help you. Just put your zip code in and it will show you local facilities. My son needed one when he was in college. It was extremely helpful. NeedyMeds provides a tremendous service to the community! Unfortunately, so many see the name “NeedyMeds” and think that this is all income based. Definitely worth checking out your medications and see if you a copay card will help you! Instead of paying $50, I paid $5!
First found out about needymeds when a prescription my rhuematologist wrote for me had a price tag on it that was more than half my monthly income. My pharmacist suggested I look there to see if I could find a coupon. I found a patient assistance program and within a week I was receiving the script in my mailbox at no cost to me. Later when I needed to go on biologic for my rheumatoid arthritis, I was prescribed Enbrel. The cost was about $500. a week, and well beyond what i could afford. Again needymeds helped me find a way to get the medicine I needed. This time with a co-pay card that paid what my insurance did not. Then the Enbrel stopped working and I switched to Humira which would have been 10x as costly. Again needymeds helped me find a way to afford it. I have also used their savings card which is free to print out on numerous other prescriptions, and even some over the counter things and stuff like canes that insurance doesn't cover. They have also helped me with finding low cost / sliding scale dental care in my area. Whenever a friend or loved one has a medical need I send them to needymeds. Being sick is hard enough without having to worry over your budget to get your prescriptions. If there were 100 stars available I would award them 110!
Concern, Commitment, Compassion and Care
NeedyMeds has been serving the community for over a decade, and this organization begins anew everyday knowing the support it provides to communities is needed and their work is good.
As a board member, I enjoy the times when I visit the office to meet the staff and volunteers. One volunteer, gave me the sweetest answer when asked, ‘What does NeedyMeds mean to you?’. The volunteer answered, ‘We serve a large number of people who need help. There are many other agencies out there, but the services we offer are different and needed by many patients. We do what we do with the resources we have very well.’
As a provider of multiple resources, NeedyMeds has the vision to continue to meet participants where they are on their medical journey by expanding and adding programs and services.
I am happy to represent an organization that is Making a Difference!
I needed a medication because my insurance didn't cover it, and I got the telephone number for the patient assistant program. The paper work that they sent me was overwhelming. I got the number for CHASE from the Senior Center. I called and set up an appointment with Mara. She helped me get through the application and organize all the papers I needed. She was kind , patient , very respectful and successful in doing my difficult application.I was so grateful to be connected with this program. I don't like asking for help but Mara made it easy.
I joined the NeedyMeds Board because I saw it as an amazing resource to enable people to get crucial medications that they could not otherwise afford. At the time I joined the Board, I worked with many advocates who helped low and moderate income people who could not afford crucial medications because of the cost. NeedyMeds was often the first and best place advocates went to find help for their clients.
As a Board member, I continue to be impressed by the extremely dedicated staff and leaders of this small, efficient non-profit and by the help and educational materials they provide to people across the country.
NeedyMeds is one of the most effective, trusted and far-reaching patient assistance programs in the country. It offers information and sometimes resources that affects a person's health, well-being and bottom line. Great job, NeedyMeds!
NeedyMeds is an organization that has a heart to serve those that are often neglected and left behind. The information and assistance that his organization provides to the public changes people's lives. I can think of no other company that shares this volume of meaningful health information tailored to meet the needs of disenfranchised populations of people.
As a healthcare provider this is a wonderful resource for patients to save money and be able to afford healthcare costs. I have worked in pharmacies in the past and always got questions regarding discount programs. I never knew of a program, but now I do thanks to needy meds. It is great because it offers rebates, allows people to qualify for free medication, and helps with copays.Additionally needy meds has many useful resources such as programs and free clinics. A feature that I particularly like is that you can use the discount card to purchase pet medications,, as a dog owner I appreciate that. Working in pharmacy I will recommend this program to as many people as possible. This is a wonderful example of how we as country can help lower health care costs.
I am advocate for people with disabilities and the elderly. Needymeds is a valuable resource to help many to get free medications and other health care assistance as well discount cards.
great information for patient assistance programs to offer our patients.
Thank You keep up the good work...
Needy Meds has been an enormous help in the communities. The informative platform has been widely appreciated and recognized. I will continue to be an advocate for NeedyMeds
Dana and Team are very helpful and thorough in navigating and assisting with my medical/financial needs.
Thank you again!
I have volunteered with NeedyMeds for seven years. I have seen it grow from a small organization with three employees, housed in a small basement office, to a successful, nationally recognized organization with 30 employees. It has been recognized three times as one of the best non profits to work at for it's size. The employees are dedicated, enthused, and empowered. It provides an ever-increasing list of ways for people to save on their health care costs, and provides information not available anywhere else. All the information is free. It's a great place to work at or volunteer, and saves millions of dollars for people needing health care.
NeedyMeds is an excellent nonprofit -- it is THE place to turn when patients and providers have questions about patient assistance and available resources. Their database is broad and kept current, and their customer-service is terrific. They truly care about the patients they serve.
As a NeedyMeds Ambassador, I've used my knowledge about medication savings to empower people to get the medications they need. Knowing that people are not suffering because of high medication costs, no insurance/low insurance makes me feel great about being a volunteer for NeedyMeds! I always feel welcome when talking to the people who work at NeedyMeds and I know that I am getting the most up to date information when I look at their website: needymeds.org. Anyone, no matter who they are, can get that discount card which provides up to 80% off of the regular prices. People who I've told about NeedyMeds are amazed when they walk out of the pharmacy with their medications at low costs. NeedyMeds is truly a great nonprofit organization!
As a volunteer for Needymeds I have only the highest respect and admiration for their wonderful work.
Just yesterday I received a call from the one of the best hospitals in the country looking for assistance with a very expensive Medicine for one of their uninsured patients. I found a resource within minutes on Needymeds which will hopefully assist them.
Keep up your amazing work!
I've worked with NeedyMeds (as a partner) for a number of years -- and throughout the years have been pleased with the wealth of information available on their website for families in need of information on how to lower their medical costs. There are many cases where their are really very few options available to people struggling to afford their healthcare -- when those situations occur, NeedyMeds offers solutions.
As a dialysis nurse, I routinely refer my patients to this resource! It is amazing and I really appreciate the customer service number to call. Many of my patients are elderly and are not computer savvy, so the ability to call and actually speak to a human being is so valuable! What a great non for profit with a genuine heart to help those who need their help! Thank you Needy Meds!
I am so thankful for Needy Meds and their informative website. They have assisted me in helping numerous patients of mine obtain their medication. It has great programs that are willing to help almost immediately. Their webinars are also great opportunities to obtain follow ups on insurance or medical conditions. I am always learning something new via Needy Meds! I would most definitely recommend Needy Meds for medication assistance!
I am a social work navigator with a not for profit home health agency. I have used Needy Meds as a resource for my indigent and uninsured patients hundreds of times in the past ten years. It is an excellent source of information and is the one ray of hope for so many people who could not otherwise afford their medications. I am so grateful Dr. Rich Sagall's vision and dedication in bringing this much needed service to so many people.

As a nonprofit home health social work navigator, I have daily experience with patients who have faced a medical crisis and are unable to afford medications. Their illness has caused the loss of their employment and health insurance. Without an income they are unable to afford alternative health insurance. North Carolina chose not to expand the Medicaid program and this continues to leave patients without a means to obtain life sustaining medications. With Needy Meds patients are able to access prescription assistance programs, coupons and discounts which actually save their lives. I am so grateful for this avenue to assist a largely ignored demographic.
I have used Needy Meds for the last ten years to assist our patients who can't afford their medications. We have gotten, in some years, over $300, 000 in medications for our patients who could not afford them. Without this one "go to" website, I would not be able to do what I have done all these years and our patients would not have been able to stabilize and/or cure their medical conditions.
In June 2016 I suddenly found myself without health insurance for the first time in over 10 years. Thank goodness I learned about the NeedyMeds drug discount card shortly thereafter-- I've been receiving significant discounts on all five (5) of my monthly prescriptions ever since. I honestly don't know what I'd do without it. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the convenient drug pricing calculator-- it's easy to use, & in my experience has been about 99% accurate. THANKS AGAIN! :)
Bless Ms. Pepler for her very fast reply! While I noted that there are no Maryland resources, there were a number of National listings that may provide the help that my friend will need. Thanks for forwarding this instructional and informative narrative to me.
As a social worker in a community based mental health/indigent care clinic, I have used the services/support of NeedyMeds more than I can count. However, there are 2 specific occasions that stand out...
1). A dying woman with Bladder Cancer could not get health insurance because she and her husband had assets (an old motorhome). The couple decided to separate because without healthcare this woman would surely die. She was living in a TENT in someone's back yard (no room in the Inn and her cancer treatment required distance from others who might become pregnant) in the middle of a Michigan winter so as to be close to the hospital which agreed to provide cancer treatment. NeedyMeds aided this woman in getting her anti nausea medications. She was soooo grateful. This woman lived in a TENT in the middle of a freezing Michigan winter with cancer AND she was grateful! It was humbling.
2). In 2012 a young father of 4 was diagnosed with Stage 4, inoperable, brain cancer. He was given 2 months to live. He was started on oral chemo. They had no money to afford the medication. NeedyMeds provided the chemo at ZERO cost to the patient. I can tell you, it is 4.5 years later and this man is STILL alive. Without that chemo he would have surely died and his children would have grown up fatherless.
I am a huge fan of NeedyMeds and I promote all that they do and stand for all over my own fb page and with everyone I meet. The services they provide are truly exemplary!!!!
I work in a Government Granted Medical Clinic as a Patient Advocate. I have used NeedyMeds for 6 years now to help our uninsured patients get there meds through the savings programs, but never really used anything else on their sight. I had order the Discount Drug Savings Cards over a year ago but never used them until just recently. WOW what a savings these cards give!! I had a patient save almost a $100 on an antibiotic and ended up paying just $10. Then today my patient saved over $650 on her prescription and will only pay $33.66. I ordered more savings cards and will handing these out to our uninsured patient more often to help with all their scripts. Thank you NeedyMeds for making my job so much easier!!
Our Foundation provides financial assistance for serious medical expenses and NeedyMeds is a huge help to us. Their Drug Discount Card has saved our clients hundreds of dollars. We regularly pass along information about NeedyMeds and refer our clients to them for additional resources. This is a fabulous resource to have available to supplement the financial support we provide. NeedyMeds helps our clients better manage their health care expenses going forward.

Recently I helped a couple of people find help with their generic drugs through NeedyMeds. It went really well and they were both very happy with the results. I also called with a question and the person answering the phone was professional and helpful.
I use NeedyMeds daily as a clinical social worker working with seniors all over the country. Because of NeedyMeds I have been able to help numerous seniors afford their medications and get the assistance they need. Without NeedyMeds I'm positive they would not have had access to the critical medications they need but are unable to afford. NeedyMeds makes my job easier and more fulfilling and I am thankful I have a resource like this to utilize on a daily basis.
Needy Meds is the best! I work with many Medicare Members who are not able to afford their medications. Many take over 10 pills a day. It is just a pleasure to be able to offer many of them information that will ease their worries especially if they are on a fixed income. Needy Meds is a life saver, everyone should know about this site!
As one of Jehovah Witnesses, we are taught to care about our neighbors. It is so refreshing to see non-profit organizations render support and aid to those in need. When Jesus Christ walked the earth, he cured the sick, supplied food, comforted the depresed. He instructed all by means of the bible to imitate his example. Your agency is trying to do that. There are so many persons in similiar need today. So I want to thank you for providing help to me to get my medication free or discounted. When we can help people materially, spiritually, and emotionally, we are imitating the finest example who ever walked the earth, Jesus Christ. This is not about fanaticism, no this is about how we all can go through life helping others in the best way possible. Thank you for helping me in a time of true need.
I'm a pharmacist and a patient. The medication I needed to take was not on my insurance formulary. I tried the generic & other brands. Nothing else worked. The cash price was close to $600/month. Needymeds brought the cost down 20%. The website also allowed me to find the pharmacy with the lowest price. The drug was still expensive but I appreciate any discount I could get. Thank you NeedyMeds!
My NeedyMeds discount card saves me at least 50% on my prescriptions. My pharmacist actually told me about the card. Be certain to show the card to the pharmacist with each new prescription to be certain it is used.
Reviews were great. When I went to use my needy Meds card for restasis my cost would have been only $300.00 wow. Prescription Novalog was only $525.00. With this help I could become homeless.
Thanks,
Kathleen DeBolt

We are sorry to hear the card was not helpful for you. Medication prices can vary from day to day and pharmacy to pharmacy - Our card can save up to 80% but unfortunately for some drugs and pharmacies the savings are less. NeedyMeds also lists Patient Assistance Programs (PAP’s) that provide free or low-cost prescription medicine to low-income people who are uninsured or under-insured and meet the guidelines. Most medicines are provided by the pharmaceutical companies who manufacture the medicine. You can look your medicines up on needymeds.org or call our toll free help line M-F from 9-5 eastern time at 1-800-503-6897. Both Restatis and Novolog have programs that are currently accepting patients. You can find them listed here - http://www.needymeds.org/brand-drug
Thank you this is what we all need, meds are really expensive, this is great for everyone,Thank Yu again !!!!!!
I was made aware of Needymeds when I started at a family practice. I found this to be one of my best ways to help my patients with their medication needs as well a lower priced MRI's. Not only was I able to help my patients but family and friends also. I always made sure to have your cards to hand out to the patients. I even used the card myself when I was without insurance which I was very thankful for. I find myself writing down this web site all the time for people when I am out in the community. Please keep up the good work and thanks a million, you make my job so much better. Tilda Preble, LPN Fostoria Ohio
I'm patient advocate with American Kidney Fund, National Kidney Foundation, American Association of kidney Patients I helped many people get services through this Needy Meds platform and the enormous wealth of information has help me to be a advocate to members of my congregations as a advocate with the Congregational Health Network in Memphis, TN through Church Health Center here in Memphis what a great resource for people.
With the challenges all of us have in the changing landscape of health care industry, it is refreshing to find an organization with one single purpose…..helping patients.
As a network of RXVIP Concierge Pharmacists, we recognize the incredible resources that NeedyMeds provides us as professionals who are advocates in patient care.
We have researched many other "savings solutions" but without question, the powerful cost savings suite of services from NeedyMeds are unmatched.
Every interaction with support people within NeedyMeds has resulted in meaningful interventions with our patients who we work with, right in the physicians offices.
Our RXVIP pharmacists working with physicians have been able to seamlessly integrate the NeedyMeds platform into our collaborative practice. With their help, we can provide the resources to our patients to deliver measurable results and better patient outcomes.
We look forward to expanding our reach in chronic care management with the help of NeedyMeds who assist patients afford their medications.
My name is Jennifer and I am a medical records manager in a small very rural clinic, with a side (but key) role in helping some of our patients obtain medications that they cannot afford or that their insurance won't cover. We are so rural that many of our patients don't even have internet access. Over the last 7 years I have assisted countless patients obtain their meds, such as Lyrica, Seroquel, Effexor and Cymbalta, among others. Thanks to NeedyMeds.com, the happiest part of my job is when they come back and say Thank You So Much! I say, Thank You So Much to NeedyMeds, you have Never let me down!
They are very quick to answer emails I didn't have to wait long. They answered my questions and gave me further information of things that I needed. I was surprised and happy. =)
My name is Deanna Collins and I have Bipolar Disorder and ADHD. It took over 5 years of the psychiatrist trying different medications to get me on the correct medication. I was able to work and be a productive member of society for many years following my current medication regimen. Unfortunately I fractured two vertebrae and ruptured a disc in my back which made me disabled from my career. I lost my health coverage and could no longer afford my abilify which was very very expensive. Thank God for caring people like you because I was able to obtain my abilify through the patient assistance foundation. Needy meds has helped me by serving as my primary drug insurance card so that I qualify to get my abilify for only 5.00 per month!
It is the worst feeling in the world to have a career that you love with all your heart and soul but can no longer fill that position due to physical restraints and then to have to worry that you might have problems with your bipolar due to the inability to afford your medicine that you so desperately need is very scary.
So I Thank God for all of the people responsible for making this possible! I am so very grateful and that career that I love so much I'm going to find a way to reenter my career field using my heart and mind!
God Bless,
Deanna Collins
As a social worker I have provided my clients with the needymeds resource for many years throughout several demographics. I recently became unemployed and without insurance for the first time in my life. Unfortunately this is the time of year that I usually get sick due to allergies. I never knew just how much this resource helped until I used it myself. Thank you so much for making medications affordable.
I help a lot of seniors with insurance, and so many can't afford their prescriptions, or they don't have coverage at all. It makes me sad that people pay their whole life into Medicare, then retire, and some are still paying 50-70% of their income for insurance. Just to not be able to afford their copays. Needymeds has helped a lot of people!
Needymeds is great. I have used their website over the last several years and saved a lot of money. Which is a great help./
Thank You
I have volunteered for years to help those needing help with medication because at one time I needed the help and found very little. Thankfully this organization has made it so much easier to find those forms of help needed. I find it to be up to date, thorough and a great wealth of info in one place. Thank you needymeds for all you do!!
I work as a case manager and home health RN and Needy Meds has been a lifesaver for my clients that need it. This is an awesome resource that has been unbelievably useful for many of my clients. I am so glad I became aware of this resource and am able to help others by using it. I am extremely impressed and a frequent user of this resource for my clients in need.
My name is Carol Clark and I am a SHIP (SHINE) Volunteer Counselor in the state of Florida. Needymeds has been a lifesaver to several hundred clients in the years I have been counseling. Thank GOD for this non-profit organization with a heart! I have found assistance for myself also, which has made my life much easier. Many clients would have gone without medication if it wasn't for Needymeds.
I am a Medical Assistant and Patient Advocate for a Community Clinic and use NeedyMeds on a daily bases. It is my go to tool to help our patients that do not have health insurance get the much needed medications at no cost. Everything I need is all right there on their website, from the apps for all the different medications that are available through the pharmaceutical companies & discount coupons. I'm also able to help our patients find a Clinic in any area of the United States if they move. I can't tell you how handy that feature is. Keep up the great work!!

After a series of major life changes, I had some severe financial troubles. There were times when it was all I could do to keep the electricity on. Much-needed health care took a back seat to more mundane but immediate needs, and my health suffered as a result.
Needymeds has played a huge role in helping me get the care I need. I've found Patient Assistant Programs for several prescription medications, often allowing me to get those medications for free. I've also found doctors and clinics, and they've all been excellent.
The site is well organized and easy to use, and emails are answered quickly.
I tell everyone I know: Needymeds is a life saver.
As one who has benefited greatly, I am thrilled to write this review in support of the NeedyMeds organization!
Like many who lost jobs during the "Great Recession," I also lost healthcare coverage; unfortunately, in the 21st century, in these great United States of America, this is what happens. I paid for coverage through COBRA for as long as I could, then for an individual insurance plan until that too became unaffordable.
I am thankful that the Affordable Care Act became law; at least some of the problems of access to healthcare have been ameliorated. Through this law, I now receive Medicaid benefits whereas prior to its passage, I did not qualify. It was during this time that NeedyMeds was a godsend, enabling me to at least afford my prescription medications.
There are hundreds of thousands of people like me, middle age, and through no fault of our own, among the long-term unemployed. Prior to the passage of the ACA, there was nothing available to assist with the exorbitant cost of prescription medications, except for an organization like NeedyMeds. This is why, as I add to my education in preparation for a new job, career, or self-employment, I made a modest donation to the organization, even though I remain unemployed, and why, when I am better able, I will gladly donate more.

Needymeds is a Godsend! Without the significant discounts that I receive on my medications thanks to this organization, I am not sure what I would do.
Although I am working now and thoroughly enjoy my job, it is part time, temporary, and does not provide benefits of any sort. I would really like to ask members of Congress what people like me are supposed to do when we lose healthcare benefits (including prescription drug coverage) along with the loss of a job.
Being middle aged, finding another job is difficult, COBRA is not financially sustainable and ends after 18 months, even if one can afford it to begin with; most Boomers are too young for Medicare, and don't qualify for Medicaid.
I have shared the Needymeds information with others, and when I am able, I will support this organization to the best of my ability!

Thank you for your review! We are glad that NeedyMeds has been able to help you. We have all sorts of cost-saving resources on our website. As a caregiver myself, I understand how difficult in can be for seniors to get the quality medications they need at a price they can afford.
Not only does NeedyMeds provide fantastic information in this regard, but they also go into the patient safety aspects of prescription drugs to ensure that the visitors to their website get the medications they need SAFELY as well and avoid the knockoffs and scams that plaque this industry.
I would like to recommend Dr Sagall for creating such an amazing resource.
NeedyMeds is a great organization that help not only individuals but others that are dedicated to help those in need as well. I am a volunteer with a group of other vounteers that work to help those in our community needing prescription assistance. We utilize the NeedyMeds program in order to better serve our clients in need. We have helped thousands in our area using the information that is provided on the NeedyMeds site. We have also had many out of state to call our office looking for help and we always encourage them to use the NeedyMeds site as well. Thank you NEEDYMEDS for providing this so that we too may help those in need.
I have been a SHIP volunteer counselor for the last 10 years, during which time needymeds.org has been a GOD send to many clients. It is so heartwarming to find this type of service in a world that can be so cold. There are many, many people in my area that have been given enormous assistance through needymeds.org and all of us are very grateful.
Have a GOD blessed day,
Carol Clark/Palatka, Fl.
I work in a program of donated medical services for the uninsured. Medical services are donated; meds are not. I use NeedyMeds every time I talk to a patient about medications. It's accurate, comprehensive one-stop shopping for people with no prescription coverage and, in some cases, even those who do have limited coverage. They have done an excellent job of pulling together every conceivable resouce and it's all there for you. Easy to use. Kudos!

Dear Judy, Thank you for the compliment. We are happy to hear that you find our website useful in your work. We hope to help as many people as possible. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do to make the website better. Best wishes, The NeedyMeds Team
Learning I was HIV positive in junior high was terrifying....so many questions...so many expensive medications.
Growing up the realization strikes your heart ...you may not be able to afford medication.
NeedyMeds saved my life literally ....not only by helping with hiv medication costs...but other medications as well. Not to mention the level of compassion and massive amount of information they offer for free.
Saints. Angels. Friends.

Thank you for sharing your story. We are so glad that we could be of help to you. In addition to the NeedyMeds website, another resource that may be of interest to you is ADAP's new online Directory: http://adap.directory. I spoke at their conference in 2014 and gave a presentation about programs that help HIV/AIDS patients. You can watch the talk here: http://adapadvocacyassociation.org/events_08_2014_presentations.html Please let us know if there's anything else we can do. Best wishes, The NeedyMeds Team
As a nurse and patient advocate, Needy Meds has been a great resource for patients and individuals without healthcare access or medication access to get the care and medications that they need. Their is valuable information for resources beyond medications; there is disease state management information, support group information in addition to low cost no cost clinic availability. The access to all of the patient assistance programs is easy to navigate and a great timesaver for those in need.
I have recommended this site to many of my peers, patients, family and friends. Thank you for the great work you do!

Thank you for your review! We are happy that we have been able to help your patients, and we are grateful to you for sharing NeedyMeds with others. Thank you for your suggestion relating to CEU, and please let us know if you have any suggestions as to how we can improve the website. After leaving my job due to illness and going on Disability i signed on w/a Medicare prescription plan. The first year everything was pretty much covered.I was put on a med that does wonders for me and it was a $20 co pay, which was doable. When the new formulary came out it jumped to $93 a MONTH.No way I could pay that.I had to leave it at the pharmacy. The thought of going off the med had me searching options.Needymeds came to my rescue.I now can get that med at a reasonable price.I'm very happy.Today the new formulary arrived.I've not looked at it yet.sigh...
I found Needymeds several years ago and since then I have helped many people and family wiht resources available when they had no help related to their diagnosis to obtain assistance that they otherwise would have gone with out and suffered due to not having that help. I continue to work with disabled voluntarily besides seeking to continue to work in this field as so many people struggle daily in their lives. This is a fantastic program and has continued to grow with more desperately needed resources.
I have multiple health issues - some genetic, some due to accidents, abuse & others unknown, therefore requiring many doctors & medications, in order to function & have a semblance of a life. Requiring over a dozen medications a month, that retails over $3K a month OR with MediCare Part D premium of $108.00, plus $$450+ co-pays monthly on a SSDI - Disability income of $1,200, makes my health care nearly impossible to get, on top of paying rent, utilities, food & transport. Never mind having a social life or affording extra comforts! Oh, it also makes for many interesting Ramen meals, or live like me and eat one meal a day or every other day!
With the MediCare/MediCal system & the medical care becoming less affordable, and more of a luxury for those with money, it leaves the remaining 99% of us not being able to get Quality / Affordable health care! So, programs like NeedyMeds are a blessing! Medications are NOT cheap!
Thank goodness there are people who care enough to fund this non-profit program.
I just recently found all the impressive content that NeedyMeds web site offers. I live with a chronic disease and I know how difficult the healthcare system can be to navigate. The NeedyMeds web site offers valuable information and the format is user friendly. As soon as I reviewed the NeedyMed website immediately posted their beneficial information on my HypoGal Blog. A big Thank You to NeedyMed Organization.
