We were very happy to be a recipient in 2016 of a grant from NC GreenPower to install a solar array at our school and to partner with them both in further fundraising for this solar array and in its installation. They do good work and were a pleasure to work with all along the way!

I've been involved with NCGreenPower since the planning and formation. It is a great concept to use private donations to enable and support renewable energy projects. Current programs to install solar at schools and partner with education modules is an excellent use of those donations. The results are outstanding and are helping students become comfortable with technology and power generation that is becoming more and more prevalent and also represents potential careers.

NC GreenPower is an amazing organization led by staff that truly cares about their mission of supporting renewable energy. There are many ways this is done, but the project of installing solar projects in schools throughout NC sets the standard. Kids are excited beyond belief to have an active solar array on their campus that they can interact with and learn about sustainable energy options. I have seen firsthand that it can galvanize a community to help these efforts and also educate them about solar power. It is an honor to be affiliated with such a genuine group of people who pour their heart and soul into their jobs and mission!

I have volunteered on the Board of NC Green Power for more than 13 years now and I can't say enough about the great staff and the excellent programs. NC GreenPower has been a big part of the change in solar generation in North Carolina, especially in the important role of education citizens about solar and other types of alternative power generation, and in helping citizens install solar on homes. There was almost no solar power generation in the state when the group began, but NC was ranked second in the nation in 2017! I'm proud to have been a part of this organization.

I have limited free time but chose NC GreenPower as the group I volunteer to help because they do great things! Not only do they support local green power projects but they're helping our schools educated our kids better. And all of this is local - they help improve our state's environment and education which matters a lot to me. I've met some of the staff and they're really passionate about making a positive impact - who couldn't appreciate that? They're a really good organization and people should volunteer or donate - even a few bucks helps!

NC GreenPower is an awesome organization! Their Solar Schools program is especially impressive, allowing students across the state to learn about solar energy firsthand. Their community education and outreach is second to none. If there's an environmental or renewable energy focused event, chances are you'll find NCGP there - with sustainably sourced swag! Their knowledgeable staff is great at answering questions and educating the public on renewable energy. Keep up the good work, NC GreenPower!!

NC GreenPower has been a tremendous benefit to area schools! With the state's school districts already having a pretty slim budget - all things considered; it's great the NCGP is not only helping them to save money, but are setting a grand example for everyone; including local government, utilities, residents, students, administrators, etc., etc.! Keep up the fantastic work NCGP!

Good Afternoon,

I have followed NC Green Power since 2003 and enjoyed reviewing their website to become more informative on renewable energy. I volunteered for the NC Green Power event at NCSU McKinnon Center location and totally enjoyed answering questions and giving demos on renewable energy to several high school’s students. This organization has made a huge impact in North Carolina for alternative energy sources.

Sincerely,

Verean Chineke

This is a great nonprofit. I truly believe the best way to approach any oncoming shift in the way society has always functioned is through education. And, as we watch our energy mix move to increase a larger number of renewable energy resources in it, education is the best way to make our society comfortable with what this change will mean to them. Not to mention that the science of the sun never ceases to fascinate. After all, our world literally revolves around it:)

I love volunteering for NC GreenPower. It's fun to watch people learn about the great programs they offer to schools around the state and get excited to start a solar program at their local school. Maybe it's because the sun always makes people happy, but getting to educate people about solar power projects - and other renewable energy initiatives that NC GreenPower supports in NC - is one of the most rewarding ways I get to spend my extra time.

Volunteering at NC Greenpower has been a very rewarding experience for me. Julia and Katie have been extremely supportive, with every event handled seamlessly. NCGP’s key messages are clear and consistent, and resonate very well with the audience, especially youth. I would highly recommend this nonprofit to others seeking an impactful volunteer experience geared to cultivating a solid and enduring sustainability ethic, particularly in young people.

As a board member, I am proud to play a part in helping drive the mission of NC GreenPower, especially it's focus on renewable energy in schools. As a mother of two, I know the importance of teaching our children about our options for a sustainable future and NC GreenPower provides a hands-on way for children (and their parents) to learn more about the benefits of renewable energy. The staff, volunteers and board are passionately committed to finding innovative solutions that will reduce our carbon footprint and promote a more sustainable future.

I've interacted with NC GreenPower in a variety of ways over the years and have always been impressed with their mission and passion. After being a long term donor, I was pleased to be asked to join the board several years ago and had an opportunity to learn more about their operations and impact. Last week it all came together for me as I was able to attend a ribbon cutting of a new solar installation at a local school that NC GreenPower funded. As an educator myself, it was wonderful to see how NC GreenPower's model ties together environmental stewardship with applied learning opportunities.

I've volunteered for NC Greenpower a few times now, and it's always been a good experience. They provide volunteers with a clear guide on what is required from them and a good opportunity to interact with the public at the events they attend. From my time as a volunteer I've gotten the chance to speak to business owners, community figures, and interesting folk in general about their projects and the advancement of green energy in North Carolina. I have always felt good about the time spent volunteering for them, and it was productive for both myself and the organization.

If you are looking for a useful and clear way to spend volunteer hours and gain experience in public speaking and green tech, then this is an ideal opportunity for you.

I recently attended a ribbon cutting for NC GreenPower's Solar Schools program. It was exciting to see the enthusiasm and support for this program and NC GreenPower as a whole. The NC GreenPower employees are passionate and dedicated. They are truly making a positive and sustainable impact across North Carolina.

I've been a donor since NC GreenPower started in 2003 because I believe in who they are and what they do. These are dedicated, passionate professionals who just want to do good for all that they serve - our NC environment, economy and now K-12 schools with their new Solar Schools initiative. They are a 501(c)(3) so my donation is tax-deductible and they are overseen by the NC Utilities Commission so they are really transparent. I would definitely tell people to support this group because they care and are doing right with my donations.

NC GreenPower is an amazing organization that I have been affiliated with for over four years. The staff and volunteers are dedicated to renewable energy and also focus on Solar Schools projects across NC that allow students to learn firsthand about solar power with their own array of solar panels on their campus. Cannot express enough how great NC GreenPower is!
