i found a duckling about a month ago and i’ve been caring for her since. at first i left it alone for sometime until it started getting dark and cold outside so i brought her in. my mom doesn’t want her here anymore because of the smell and i don’t have anywhere to take her. i don’t have enough money to buy her a house and pool and have her outside.she’s also alone. is there anyone in the dfw area that could possibly take her in? i know this isn’t what this is for but they want to release her into the wild and i know we’re not supposed to but they aren’t going to listen to me.
We rescued a baby owl from being killed by crows. He was on the ground near trees. He was very young and could not fly. We contacted Natures Edge and Mario said bring they would be happy to help.
We found that our owl was a baby Eastern Screech Owl and it would be one month or so before he would be able to fly. We felt good knowing we helped the owl and he would be in better hands with Mario and Brandi.
Thank you both for your endless time you give to all the wildlife!
I live in Weatherford, Texas. We are experiencing thunderstorms, high winds, and tornado warnings. This morning I was taking my trash to the dumpster and saw a very small bird in a puddle of water. The bird was soaking wet and near drowning, so, I pick the bird up, took him into my apartment, dried him off and placed the bird in a warm, dry, covered box, and immediately went to my computer to find out how to care for a baby bird and hopefully identify the kind of bird I was dealing with. I read on the website about feeding a baby bird and also discovered the bird is a Cardinal. I have called around to various rehabilitation associations and left my contact information for them to contact me. I have heard nothing from anyone. Does anyone know if a baby Cardinal would be accepted into this rehab program? Kindest Regards, Suzanne Richards
After seeing this rescue at numerous events, and learning more about the couple who started it, and what they do, over the years, i have come to have a great respect for this organization. I dont know of any rescue more caring and dedicated to helping reptiles and wildlife than this rescue. They are dedicated to helping a group of animals that many people fail to even think about. Their work is critical to these animals. I see how much time, energy, and money they put into caring for the animals that come into the rescue and I am blown away. They spend many days of their time volunteering at public events to raise awareness and educate the public about the lesser known, often misunderstood, animals that need help too. I can't recommend this organization enough!
Mario and Brandi have Spent countless hours rescuing and rehabbing all types of Wildlife. They do awesome work.
These folks are very considerate when it comes to critters. It's nice to know there are those looking out for animals that can't help themselves.
NEWR is one of the most amazing groups you can find. They have taken in quiet a few animals I found injured or neglected. There is a relief once they have these animals because of there knowledge and kindness. Its nice to see a group care about the ones without a voice.
These guys do any excellent job of informing people about wildlife in the area. Also, I'm extremely grateful for everything they do for injured wildlife and animals that have not been taken care of. It's wonderful how well they document these happenings and show what really goes on.

Thank you so much!
My daughter found an injured mourning dove outside of her school yesterday (Oct 23rd) morning and immediately called me to see if she could bring it home and "nurse it back to health." I told her if the bird was still alive after school we would figure something out. Cue Nature's Edge. I sent them a message explaining the situation; they told me to bring the bird up after work and they would gladly take her in. When we arrived they assessed Tabii (my daughter named her) and immediately took her inside to start on antibiotics and fluids. Tabii suffered from a broken wing, broken leg and an infected eye. We're hoping that she makes it, but am just happy to know that there's an organization in our area that is willing and able to give this sweet bird a chance at recovery.

We are so happy to have found such a great home for one of our bearded dragons!
Very knowledgeable, Brandi and Mario are leaders in their field and head up the best in non-profit conservational and animal rehab in North Texas. They serve the community in helping to educate reptile owners as well as rescue and rehome, giving sanctuary to animals unable to be rehabilitated into the wild. Their whole team does a tremendous job coordinating their effort and incorporate volunteers from the community.

Thank you so much for the kind words!
In May we had a nestling hawk fall from it's nest and Natures Edge sent someone out to pick up the baby and took him back to their rescue and rehabbed him and got him back out where he belonged. I was home by myself with my 3 little girls and we were supposed to get storms later that night and I know we have coyotes and huge owls that would have killed the hawk if he wasn't helped. The nest was over 50 feet in the air so there was no putting him back in the nest. Nature's Edge asked me to cover the baby with a trash can so nothing would mess with him until they were able to come out. Someone came within a hour and picked up the hawk and took him to the rescue center. They said he was small and being under nourished so we were so thankful they were able to come get him and get him healthy again. I was able to email and check to see how the hawk was progressing and it made my girls so happy that with Natures Edge we were able to save the baby hawk.

Thank you for taking the time to help save this beautiful hawk!
I reached out via FaceBook pm for advice on a newly discovered racoon family in my back yard. Brandi was quick to respond, providing just the instruction I needed to become a caring, compassionate hands-off landlord for the duration of the family’s stay!

Thank you for reaching out to us to help with these beautiful critters. Raccoons are such smart little boogers!
These folks are fully permitted at both the Federal and State level, and spend their time and energies rehabbing all sorts of native reptiles, bats, birds of prey and mammals. They do an outstanding job, and fulfill a role that would likely otherwise go empty.

Thank you!
Mario and Brandi did a presentation for my 4H group. It was fascinating and educational. The kids and adults learned a lot, especially about our local snakes. I highly recommend having them present to your group.
Brandi and her team work tirelessly to be site all the animals have exactly what they need to not only survive but to thrive. I know how much work it can be, yet she stops at nothing. I would like to see this wildlife rehab grow & prosper do more animals can be helped. Please consider donating whether it's money or your time volunteering. They need help building new habitats, picking up animals, supplies, cleaning, posting on fb, and lots of other things. I'm sure you can find something of interest.
