Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Animals, Environment, Natural Resources Conservation & Protection, Wildlife Preservation & Protection
Mission: Founded in 1986, the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin, Inc. (NRF) has continued to build on our state's strong tradition of caring for our corner of the earth. The NRF is not affiliated with a larger national organization. All contributions to the NRF stay in our state to protect and enhance Wisconsin's natural resources. The NRF believes that protecting our planet begins with individual action at the local level, and makes securing financial support for grassroots conservation efforts a top priority. The NRF enjoys a unique relationship with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), providing financial support to prominent field biologists and scientists working on programs that benefit our state's natural resources.
Results: In 2011 we raised over $600,000 to pass through to significant conservation and research by our Department of Natural Resources. We distributed over $23,000 to 28 local conservation projects across Wisconsin.
