I was fortunate enough to have participated in NVEEE's summer internship program in 2023 and experienced the Peace Ambassador Leadership Summit at both FIU and GU as a program facilitator. I truly learned so much from how the leaders of this organization conducted themselves, they truly lead by example and inspired me to wholeheartedly do the same. I especially valued the opportunity to work with the founder, Jowharah Sanders, as I learned that it's not often you have the opportunity to work so closely with the executive director as an intern. Jowharah puts her heart and soul into everything that she does for NVEEE. When you're working with her, you know that you are actively working to make a difference. As a student from New York, I was extremely nervous about traveling to work in Miami, Florida. Jowharah and her team welcomed me with open arms, even picking me up from the airport and bringing me to dinner. I can not thank this nonprofit enough not only for the impact they make on students they work with but on how much they teach every person who works on their team. I will always be a supporter of NVEEE, as I know from personal experience that this is an organization where every resource you put in will go towards actively transforming the lives of the students who have the opportunity to work with them.
The time I’ve spent with NVEEE serves to be a fun and wonderful experience, the counselors and directors are all real people that you can interact with and feel welcomed by. And the work done at NVEEE I can see the real effect it can have on helping people.
A great organization to contribute to your local community and have fun while doing it. I developed great friendships during only one year of being a member. Whether you’re a freshman or a senior in high school, it’s a great way to boost your resume for college and scholarship recommendations.
My name is Aya Sleilaty and I was a delegate at the PALS in Georgetown during the summer of 2023. It was an amazing experience. One I don’t believe many people can find anywhere. I was surprised after the summit at the amount of things I had learned. I learned new information relating everything from how to apply to colleges to ways I can improve my mental health. It is one of the most inclusive and unique opportunities I got to experience and I recommend everyone to at least try and go to one of the summits once. Lastly, I was able to create so many new friendships during a short amount of time, proving how easily it was to open up to the delegates and counselors and build a small family!!!
I’m Melanie and I’ve been apart of PALP for a couple of months now and I’ve been loving it. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the program. Everyone makes you feel apart of the team, no one is left behind. They include each and every individual, give attention to everyone, and are always offering a helping hand and solution if needed. Something that’s always been important to me is patience, and let me tell you, they are VERY patient people. If you don’t understand something, have questions, or suggestions, they are more than ready to listen and really hear you. I’ve met a lot of great friends and can’t wait to make more memories. PALP’s message is for us to make an impact on our community and by being apart of their team, we are given the opportunity to do just that.
As a Returning Junior Counselor, PALS has helped me learn many different lessons over the past year. I’ve learned the importance of working in a team and the basics of how to form a strong bond with my colleagues. It was one of the best things i’ve done, as it’s helped me prepare myself for the future. It’s also helped me network with others, which helps with the whole process of teamwork. It has been one of the best experiences I’ve had in recent memory and want others to share the experience as I have.
My time spent at NVEEE was absolutely amazing I met people who have impacted my life still to this day it genuinely changed the person i was because I made these memories with such a diverse group of people that every moment was a learning experience I greatly recommend anyone who can go does because you wont regret it
I participated in PALS over the summer and it helped me get out of my comfort zone while also allowing me to meet new people. We went through so many different workshops that were fun and beneficial. It was one of my favourite experiences and I can’t wait to do it again.
I joined this program last year and it has made a BIG impact on my life. I have never really been an outgoing person but this program has brought me out of my shell. They shared so much helpful information with college, public speaking, what to do in certain situations. It has just been so helpful. I truly loved my experience there and i will be going this year
My name is Amelia Proweller, a current sophomore at Kenyon College. This past summer, for ten weeks, I had the privilege of interning for NVEEE within their Mental Health and Wellness Committee.
As a committee, we primarily researched and produced creative content including posters with mindfulness meditations, breathing exercises, and hotline numbers, that are accessible to over 1,400 followers on the instagram page. The committee’s emphasis on collaboration and illustration encouraged me to connect with wonderful and driven peers and mentors, and develop skills within marketing and social media.
Within the committee, I researched and creatively published mental health resources for students and their parents. I worked alongside the creative services to spearhead a social media campaign, “Mental Healing from Home” for which posts detailed resources and support for students and their families coping with eating disorders, trouble sleeping, and provided mental health statistics and helpline providers. Another significant project I completed was a High School Survival Guide, a compilation of advice and strategies for student success, which was a collaboration between my friend Jazmine and I. It will be used for future workshops and PALS events. I’ve also created junior counselor training presentations and mental-health and wellness posters geared towards PALS participants, which can be reused.
From my experiences, I have developed communication and interpersonal skills that fostered within me professionalism and confidence that will be most helpful in navigating professional spaces within the non-profit and law fields in the future. Also, I gained insight into the operations of a non-profit organization, and the importance of collaboration and communication in creating transformative change for communities across the nation. It was a privilege to be involved with NVEEE, whose passion for social change, and community outreach is inspiring, transforming lives across the furthest corners of the country.
I am currently an intern in the Program Development and Youth Activities Department with National Voices for Equality, Education, and Enlightenment (NVEEE). I am a junior at the University of Miami studying Chemistry and International Studies with aspirations to pursue a career in Global Health Inequities and Healthcare Reform. Much of my work with NVEEE focuses on developing training and logistical planning for our Summer leadership programs. This past year, I had the opportunity to serve as the assistant Program Director at one of the organization's conferences.
Being a part of NVEEE has taught me how to effectively lead teams, be confident in my networking skills, and properly advocate for myself in academic, personal, and workplace environments. Understanding how to effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and those in a customer-service setting is another skill that I believe that this organization has been pivotal in teaching me. As a result of my involvement with NVEEE, I feel confident in every interview and public speaking circumstance I find myself in. Having received such thorough training in these areas of expertise combined with a comprehensive development of cultural competency and emotional intelligence has made me confident to step into roles of mentorship and leadership within my university in the capacities of service, research, and social action.
Having participated in programs with this organization for nearly 5 years, my current internship with NVEEE has been critical in shaping my perspectives on social justice and youth engagement in the scope of medicine, as well as developing my personal accountability and organizational skills. Without being involved in this organization, I wouldn’t have realized my passions for diversity in science, nor would I have developed the ability to effectively advocate for said passions. The experiences I have had and skills I have attained with NVEEE will live with me for the rest of my life.
As someone who is usually introverted around others, I was shocked to see how the friendliness and open-mindedness of those at PALS truly allowed me to step out of my comfort zone. I will never regret attending the program; not only has it improved my social skills so much both directly and indirectly, but it also taught me so many lessons about the world around me and life in general through the many workshops and activities it has to offer. It was the first time I shared a dorm with someone, and it was definitely a good experience to have before I start college. The staff and counselors are so nice and never hesitate to answer any questions you may have, and are more than willing to have conversations and give advice to the PALS delegates. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would recommend anyone who is available this summer to seize this wonderful opportunity and attend.
Since middle school, I’ve always been living in a cycle of going to school and staying at home, repeat. But when I entered high school I realized that something had to change. I was living in a community that I knew nothing about and have been staying in circles that are familiar to me. I’m lucky enough to have found this organization in the summer before freshman year. Since I joined NVEEE (National Voices for Equality, Education, and Enlightenment), I have met so many new people that have learned about so many different stories. I’ve learned so much from my mentors and get to work alongside the Executive Director Jowharah Sanders. This allows to get advice and guidance from a experienced activist. Through the Peace Ambassador Leadership Program I am able to collaborate with teens my age from all over Florida and the country. I’ve cultivated my leadership skills through reenactments and workshops. My favorite part of the program is the service projects. When I joined I wanted to learn about my community and create change and the PALP program gave me the resources to do just that. I also value the summer program they offer that allows students to stay at college campuses and engage in a multitude of activities. I will never forget the memories and lessons I’ve learned through this non-profit.
For the past several months, I have had the pleasure of being an intern for NVEEE and my time spent here has been nothing short of an amazing experience. One of its pleasures is the satisfaction of knowing that all of the time I have spent volunteering with them has contributed to the values that this program stands for. I have met a multitude of unique yet like-minded individuals all of whom are a perfect fit for the positive environment that NVEEE has created. NVEEE creates a space for development and growth and through its hands-on experience, has taught me skills that are sure to help me in my professional future. If I were to recommend an internship opportunity to anyone I would 100% point them in the direction of NVEEE.
I served as an intern at the National Voices for Equality, Education, and Enlightenment (NVEEE) in the Summer of 2023. I am currently a Senior at Yale, studying Political Science and Education. My internship with NVEEE allowed me to further my research on law, public policy, and democratic citizenship in America. At NVEEE’s PALS conference in Orlando, I facilitated seminars on education and mental health and wellness. My internship at NVEEE has been momentous and intellectually enriching; this experience has also allowed me to build long lasting relationships with Florida youth and community leaders. I am very grateful to the directors and team members at NVEEE for providing me with the opportunity to engage with and learn from its diverse and thoughtful program participants, student counselors, and administration. Thank you!
I joined PALS in the summer of 2023 with a couple of my friends because i thought it would be a fun activity. Never did I think this program would change me the way it did. Being a part of PALS and now NVEEE has taught me so much about college applications, scholarship opportunities, leaderships roles, and my value as a member of my community. After the week long stay at FIU for PALS, i had a different outlook on life. For the first time in a long time, i was able to step back and look at those around me with a clear mind. My relationships and friendships with those around me are much healthier and i feel like a more active member of my community. I signed up to work with NVEEE after my stay at PALS, and i don’t think i could’ve done anything better. I’m now leading my group, collecting donations around south florida to keep those affected by homelessness warm, fed, and feeling loved.
I first attended an NVEEE program last summer and it was a watershed moment in my life. I learned so much about myself, others, and how to improve. I've made great, long-lasting friendships and developed myself personally, academically, and professionally. Participating in the Peace Ambassador Leadership Program this year has also been incredibly transformative in the same respects, and being able to gain the mentorship, experience, and assistance in helping my community has been an experience unlike any other.
When I went to PALS in 2022 I felt isolated and lonely, especially coming up after covid. Going to PALS was one of the most life-changing experiences for me. I felt as if I had found a place where I could unapologetically be myself. The staff made sure that I never felt lonely and constantly pushed me to come out of my comfort zone. The environment created was one of safety and one of a loving community. I got to meet so many people I would not have met otherwise network with people from across the globe and made friends that have stuck with me through thick and thin. Friendships that have changed my life.
After participating in PALS for multiple years I went from someone who would shake, feel nausea, and cry when I would have to present something or talk to new people to being the person to go up to the anxious people getting other people out of their shell.
The pals program in NVEEE has been a place where you can find people to relate to, a place that values differences, and a place that seeks change. Being in this program has connected me to a community that strives for advancement and diversity within youth and young adults.
Through NVEEE and specifically the Peace Ambassador Leadership Summit, I’ve met such amazing like-minded peers who are so driven and passionate about our community. By completing the summit and joining the program, I’ve learned valuable skills such as public speaking, organization, and team-work! I wish I could’ve found out about this program earlier and I would definitely recommend it to my younger peers!
Without a doubt NVEEE is a great organization that I have been able to be a part with. When I attended their Peace Ambassador Leadership Summit (PALS) this year it was one the best experiences I’ve ever had. It enabled me not only to get service hours but get out of my shell, become a better leader, and be the person who I am today.
I have met such amazing people doing such amazing service projects for the community. I truly feel like I have found a family of peers and mentors that I can look up to and confide in. I love NVEEE!!
I went to PALS in 2022 and it was one of the best experiences in my life. I was able to open up and connect with other kids like myself and so learned valuable information about the college application process and mental wellness values. I feel more in tune with myself as an individual and as a leader. I’m now in PALP as a peace ambassador leader and I’m so glad to be part of such a wonderful organization.
I’ve been with NVEEE since 2021 and it has truly made a difference. I loved being a counselor and I loved making a connection with everyone who I’ve encountered. Pals and palp has provided me with many friendships and has tremendously helped me break out my shell. I owe it all to NVEEE
Being a part of NVEEE’s leadership training program (PALP) has truly allowed me to grow as a person and leader, as well as learn so many invaluable lessons. From learning how to be a better public speaker to gaining clarity on career paths, being a part of this organization and program has allowed me to develop skills that I have and will continue to use in my everyday life. Being surrounded by others who share my same passions and interests was also an amazing experience! I was able to learn so much from those around me such as to embrace who you are and to advocate for yourself. I am so thankful to NVEEE for having the opportunity to participate in PALP.
NVEEE changed my life for the better. I participated in their leadership summit in 2019 and was recruited as a volunteer then. I have been a part of their leadership training program (PALP) ever since, where I was mentored in public speaking skills in a diverse and welcoming environment. Vulnerability and trust are encouraged and celebrated, creating not just a productive learning environment but a veritable family among the volunteers. I owe my confidence in both casual social situations and professional work environments to NVEEE.
This was one of the best experiences in my life and I don’t think I will ever forget it. The counselors and staff were so welcoming and it was nice to make a couple of new friends as well!
NVEEE creates a very welcoming and accepting atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly and understanding of each other. The counselors are very friendly and work very hard to provide a memorable, engaging experience to all of its participants. This program has helped me come out of my shell a bit and make plenty of friends!
The most amazing experience I’ve been apart of. When I feel lost I feel like I have a family that I can rely on anytime no matter what.

NVEEE created the most accepting space I’ve ever been in. The experiences I’ve shared and friends I’ve made through NVEEE have changed my life for the better. The counselors work tirelessly to create a place for kids to share, bond, and heal with others around their age. - Mariana R.
nveee has helped me come out my shell and take action regarding situations that I’m passionate about.
Jowharah Sanders and all members of NVEEE have helped me grow over the past few years. I've had help in improving my leadership, interpersonal, and social skills and I will forever be grateful for the opportunities I get with NVEEE, as well as all the relationships I've been able to form and build. It has been a privilege to be a part of the organization!
One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. This organization gets you to open up and become friends with people so easily. The staff are so welcoming to everyone. I have learned and taken so much from attending this organization.
My experience with Nvee has been life changing , I was shy and scared about going but it changed something in me , it helped me understand myself get close to others and getting to experience many more opportunities, nvee is helping me find myself and be a up stander and I really do love this nonprofit cause they change so many lives of kids and impact many in great ways
I will always thank NVEEE for helping me become the person I am today. All the leadership skills and compassion that I have today is because of this organization. Nothing compares to working with so many young adults trying to make a difference in the world.
NVEEE has definitely impacted my life for the better. I've created some of my greatest and most amazing bonds and friendships through this program, and through our PALP Leadership training I have grown into a more confident person. NVEEE holds a leadership summit over the summer at FIU and it was such a beneficial experience for me. I learned how to be a better person, a better leader and a better contributor to the world. Thank you, NVEEE for all that you've done for me and my fellow youth.
NVEEE has been the most influential aspect of my life ever since I joined, it’s helped me so much with every aspect of myself including my people skills, leadership and so much more. The world needs an NVEEE.
NVEEE is such an incredible program! And the experience I got was unlike any other I’ve ever had. The message NVEEE is promoting is beautiful. The workshops were very moving as I learned a lot about topics I would never be exposed to at home nor at school. NVEEE has opened me up a lot as well. I feel at home, and everybody involved with NVEEE is like my family. During their weeklong summit, even though I didn’t talk to everyone, I felt like I could’ve trusted them all and that is the kind of environment NVEEE creates for everybody.
NVEEE is such a wonderful organization and should be widely recognized. I attended PALS 2018 and it was an amazing experience that showed me how to be an upstander and valuable life skills.
Before NVEE I was a person that didn’t really understand the harms of bullying to the fullest extent they help me understand just how dangerous it can be and how great it would be for others to take a stand against it. Jowharah Sanders and all other memories of NVEE have made me feel at home and loved and help me grow to help others thank you!!!!
This organization is one of the best I've had the pleasure to volunteer for. The head of NVEEE, Jowharah Sanders, is genuinely committed to improving the lives of young people across Florida and does so in unconventional ways. Utilizing peer-to-peer presentations and events is one of the biggest reasons why NVEEE is so good at what they do. NVEEE is an amazing organization that has touched the lives of so many and will continue to strive for success as long as it can.
My experience with NVEEE has been life changing. Being surrounded by such positive people, participating in fun activities and still learning about antibullying, suicide prevention, and leadership skills, it was an amazing week that I will never forget. I'm very excited to take what I've learned and bring it to my community and friends. I'm so thankful that this organization is available to me and others.
NVEEE has been an amazing experience for me. I’ve always wanted to help people hands-on, and NVEEE opens that outlet for me. I have learned about the struggles of other people, which has motivated me to help those who are not as priviledged as I am. It has created a postive impact in me and has helped me help myself and others.

Even though I've only known NVEEE for a few months, the organization gave a sharp turn to my life. I have known people who have really needed help for a long time, and I've always liked to help, and NVEEE has provided me tools to help those who are being bullied or are still affected by bullying despite not being object of bullying anymore. I also met amazing people whom I can count on whenever I need help. Through the people and the life lessons, NVEEE is definitely a life changing experience.
After attending NVEEE and their summer program, PALS, I am truly amazed at the work that NVEEE has continued to do in our community. The environment in the program truly is one of acceptance and it is beautiful to see the growth of not only myself but also every other individual impacted by the organization! Truly an amazing and inspiring organization!
NVEEE is a wonderful organization that brings together a diverse group of young people together for many great causes . I had a wonderful experience with this organization and I reccomend going to any of NVEEE's event.
NVEE is an absolutely amazing organization that has truly opened my eyes to the things the world has to offer. My time with this organization has taught me so many things that I have applied to so many situations I have came across or could come across at any point in time. NVEE is truly doing amazing work for the community that should not go unoticed.
I've been involved with this organization since 2013 and have nothing but beautiful memories from it. I have learned so much about helping the community and this organization has given me the tools to reach my goals in life to help those around me. Being a Peace Ambassador has been nothing short of life changing. I recommend this non profit organization to anyone who is looking for a life changing experience in growth!
I went to NVEEE's PALS program this past summer and it completely changed me. I ended the program as a more self-confident, well spoken individual. This organization is truly something the world needs, and I'm making sure all my friends get involved in the near future.
this organization creates wonders for the youth of this era. under PALS, NVEEE has created a safe space for young people such as myself. we feel accepted and comfortable with ourselves enough to express our personalities in whichever way we please, and it is amazing. i'm lucky to have been invited to attend PALS because it is the only place i've ever been able to feel like myself and i hope others can experience the same things i have.
NVEEE has had such a huge impact on me from the moment I started. It has strengthened me as a leader, encouraged me to deeply understand the concepts of bullying and, how to prevent it . This organization gives me the chance to actually go out and make a positive difference in the world. I'm so grateful to have found and to be involved with NVEEE!❤️
Getting to be a part of NVEEE has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Every part of the NVEEE team carries such an inspiration with them and they have had such a positive impact on everyone that has ever came across the program and it shows in every smile they have created along the way! They create such an accepting and open environment for everybody and if you walk away from the program with anything- it's that no one is ever alone and there are so many people that are there for you through everything you may go through. NVEEE is a 100% bully free zone and, once again, they have had such an impact on my life and is easily one of the most amazing experiences and organizations anyone can ever be a part of.
This is my 3rd year knowing about NVEEE and I can truly say that each passing year NVEEE makes my life even better than it already was. Everyone that is a part of NVEEE helped me move on from my past, and also helped with some of my other personal issues. This is an amazing organization that deserves way more credit than what it is given.

I've been going to NVEEE's summer summit for 2 years now and can honestly tell you it had changed my life. Literally within 3 days, you and all the other students will feel as if you are family and you feel as if you can trust them with anything. You leave the summit feeling like a new and improved you, you learn things about others and about yourself! I have never been so moved and passionate about a non-profit organization till I started with NVEEE. Would recommend to all teens, and to all families who want to be more involved/ open minded with today's society.
I started with NVEEE about four years ago and it completely changed my life. It helped me over come bullying and prevent it even though I live so far away. I don't know what I would do with out the family it has become and it has certainly helped me reach and fulfill my passion of helping others. It creates a chain reaction. I've always wanted to help others, and NVEEE has taught me how to do that and help my self no matter how far away or what kind of person. I am apart of almost every program NVEEE has to offer and I wouldn't change it for the world.
NVEEE allows students to have their voices by heard and become who they want to be in the world. Being an intern with Jowharah was a once in a lifetime experience that I'll never forget.
I started my internship with NVEEE about two months ago and I can honestly say that I've done and learned so much in such a short amount of time while also being impacted by the organization's mission. NVEEE is constantly hard at work making sure that they're doing everything in their power to support kids and teens that may be dealing with bulling or suicidal thoughts by offering a safe space. As the days go on I learn more about the kids that are involved with NVEEE and its so moving and humbling to see how strong and inspiring they are at such a young age. I love that I've had the opportunity to be a part of an organization that always puts their cause at the forefront of all their decision making and I can't wait to see what else is in store.
I am currently an Public Relation intern with this organization, and it's been a great experience. We spend a lot of time developing ideas and platforms in which individuals would feel interested or moved to help those being bullied or considering suicide. As an intern, you get to hear the stories and struggles of some of the kids NVEEE works with, and it draws you to do anything you can to help. This is a worthwhile organization that holds as priority to help kids feel important, acknowledged, and encouraged to be who they are without fearing the outside world.
NVEEE's PALS has done nothing but bring a smile to my face since the first time I went. It's taught me so much not just about others, but about myself. This summit was definitely an eye opening experience for me.
I went to PALS on a whim, but what I found there truly changed my life and perspective on the world. NVEEE as an organization is an open minded safe space where I felt free to present myself honestly, which is something I can't say about the school system or even my own family. Through NVEEE I have learnt to see the world through the perspective of others and met different types of people and learn from them. Overall NVEEE is phenomenal and the work they do really helps to change the community for the better.
NVEEE is incredible. The people I have met and the lessons I have learned have deeply impacted me and I am truly grateful to be a part of this organization.
NVEEE changed the way I look at people. NVEEE is by far the best organization I have joined, I didn't know what to expect when I went to PALS 2015, I thought it was going to be a regular camp with just activities to keep us busy, but it was so much more, PALS 2015 allowed me to open up to people & make friends for life, I felt so connected to everyone and myself. PALS 2015 is super fun & my favorite part was being able to be independent. I am super excited to go to PALS 2016, NVEEE is such a great organization, I am very grateful I got to be part of this amazing experience.
A wonderful non-profit! The founder is absolutely incredible and the youth I have met are Extraordinary. This non-profit has helped me to cohesively adapt to school surroundings, regardless of aggressors.
When I first joined NVEEE, I didn't know what I was going to expect. I thought it would be like a regular learning session with little lessons here and there. I was wrong. It has been an incredible experience. NVEEE makes you grow into a learner and a leader. The people that I have met and the memories that I have made, have touched my life for the better. When you come to NVEEE, you become a well-rounded and better person. Come to NVEEE, and you will agree.
As a parent of 3 small kids, NVEEE has provided a strong foundation and ongoing support for my children's daily struggles with bullying. In NVEEE, they have a resource to turn to, not only to deal with bullying, but also to stand up to it, and to teach their peers.
Hey,my name is Brandon walker and i am a jr.staffer for Pals. My experiences is what changed my life. It taught me to never judge someone because you never know what anyone goes through. My experience was an amazing get away from all of my personal life problemw that i was dealing with.i recommend this to all of my friends because this experience will change your life and make you realize that people do care about you and they wana help. Everyone is cool and genuine. This experience also made me feel that i am never alone, i have family.
I would love to sit here and talk about logistics and stats in excess about how effective NVEEE is for these teens (and adults) but that can be easily googled and it would probably sound like a boring sales pitch. NVEEE is much more than that. NVEEE is a safe haven, a soapbox and an education opportunity for teens. Whether they are experiencing bullying or feel like they are superior to others, NVEEE reaches out to all teens and provides perspective much needed in today's societies filled with "norms." NVEEE shows teens that "norms" are a human creation and simultaneously a tool of oppression and abuse at times. NVEEE encourages everyone to treat one another with love and respect because we are all having the human experience despite sex, race, gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic status and interests. NVEEE encourages creativity, compassion and expression. I am so proud of every person who works so hard to keep NVEEE afloat for the many students who NEED it. NVEEE is a home away from home.
I have had the honor of being a member of the Jr. staff team at PALS 2014 and 2015. This organisation has created such a beautiful conference for young people where no matter how different we all are we can always find a way to come together. We teach leadership skills and help many to grow into the amazing people that they were born to be. I've never worked with an organisation that gives so much heart and soul into everything they do and it's an honor to say that I work with NVEEE spreading this kind of love and joy.
nveee is a great program that me realize that I'm not the only one here alone that goes through the same thing like being adopt and have to put in foster care and moving from home and home. but not only help me realize that I'm not the only but help set others free from what there going. my story was never share until I want to Pals 2015 its a great break for your emotionally and mentally, and physically. we reach out through schools, community's, and homes, so please join us next year for one of the greatest breakthroughs ever at FIU this upcoming summer.
My name is Camry and I just want to recognize NVEEE and let everyone know that it is by far the best non profit for bullying awareness around. It has changed my life and I have seen it do wonders in others lives right before my eyes. The amazing founder Jowharah Sanders saw a need for change and formed this outstanding team and organization to help her accomplish it. PALS our annual summer conference is something that I think every teen should attend, the experiences I have there and the people I have met are so precious to me and I know will last forever.
My name is Liz. I started volunteering with NVEEE in High School, because I felt I could connect to the message (being severely bullied in elementary and high school). Little did I know that my experiences with them would change my life.
As a Sr Staffer and Conference Coordinator at the last two PALS, our summer summit focusing on bullying presentation, I have not only gone through a personal transformation but have seen how much this organization helps and gives tools to those whom really need them.
I have shared personal stories, heard incredible triumphs, learned, grown, made friends, cried, laughed, and most of all, learned to be a leader. I don't know what I would have done or would do without NVEEE. The organization, and its founder, Jowharah Sanders, have truly helped me heal and changed my world view. Without it, I don't think I would have had the courage or strength to start my own non-profit organization: Her Voice. NVEEE and its message are essential to the future and to the WORLD.
Most teenagers I know think that they’re the only ones going through or have been through difficult times and that no one else their age could possibly understand. I always talk about NVEEE and whenever I mention what it is to someone for the first time and I explain that it's a bullying and suicide prevention organization people stare at me for a second because they just can not believe the words I just said. Speaking about suicide in a normal conversation is very odd to most people but it's so important, bullying and suicide awareness is so important. When you’re in your own thoughts you don’t get to hear the experiences of others and you tend to feel so alone. Sometimes, such negative thoughts like suicide become a person's dirty little secret. From the very beginning of PALS a conversation starts that so many people are too scared to talk about, even with themselves. Being surrounded by others who are sharing their stories about bullying, thoughts of suicide, or their journey in general, is completely life changing – and it may seem odd but it’s also encouraging. To young adults, these moments are precious and indescribable. The significant effect PALS has had on me can not be put into words. I am going into my third year being a staff member at the conference and now I’m the Co- Vice President of the Youth Advisory Council. I’m eternally thankful to the Be a STAR program because now I know we have even more allies working on our behalf, even when we think we are the most alone. Now I know that the future is unpredictable and whether it's a lot of good or bad or both, you have no idea. Life can throw you some terrible situations but I know that one day it’ll be better and it isn't permanent. The only thing that's permanent is the choice to end it all. That's a choice you can’t learn from. Other choices you can learn from and evolve from and change but if you commit suicide, you can't learn from that or go back from that. That was one of the biggest reasons why people need to keep going and why I will keep fighting, more people need to know.
NVEEE has changed my life. I first learned about the organization in 2013, at a leadership conference. I immediately felt a connection because I myself have been bullied in the past. The knowledge that I gained through the workshop led by the Executive Director, Jowharah Sanders, impacted me deeply. I finally felt empowered to be one of the upstanders that the world needed. In the summer of 2014 as well as 2015, I was a Jr. Staffer at the Peace Ambassador Leadership Summit. This summit not only provides youth with the knowledge they need to know about bullying and suicide prevention, but it also provides them with peer mediation training, a chance to show off their talents during the talent show and prom, and it also engages them in activities that allows for them to learn more about who they are. Now, in comparison to 2013 when I first learned about NVEEE, I am now the President of the Youth Advisory Council as well as a Senior Staff Specialist for PALS. I wouldn't be half the leader I am today if it wasn't for individuals like Jowharah, Grisel, Yakira, Dayliset and Ephraim who were willing to nurture me along the way. If you are looking to discover who you are as a person, help others in need or even meet other students who share the same interests as you while having fun, give NVEEE a try, you won't regret it.
I have watched this non-profit give children a voice and a renewed spirit that is spreading like wildfire. This is a voice needed for the youth to be able to stand up for themselves and others.
My name is Gabriella Garza and I have been affiliated with NVEEE and PALS for almost three years now. I strongly suggest for people of any age to volunteer with NVEEE. Even as a volunteer you grasp so much information mentally and emotionally that will help you. You become open minded when you're around NVEEE. You get to meet people of different races, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc. You learn to accept others, including yourself for all that you were born to be. I have learned how to handle bullying, how to be an upstander, how to treat others, how to be happy in my own skin. I owe a lot of my self confidence and self love to NVEEE and the people I have met at PALS. I recommend that students at least attend PALS once in their life and they themselves will experience the beautiful and positive aura that surrounds NVEEE and PALS.
My name is Damar Townsend. I heard about NVEEE through a friend of mine Chason Lang ,who has shared many of his experiences from working with this organization.Listening to his stories i feel as if i was connected to this organization. Growing up i have always seen bullying in schools and no one has ever stood up to address it. I'm happy to finally see their is a group of people dedicated to helping prevent bullying so thank you to all the people involved with NVEEE.
I have been working with NVEEE for over a year now as one of the college student leaders. I'm currently one of the Co-Presidents of the Youth Advisory Council and i can honestly say this organization has impacted me deeply. Walking into the organizations i expected to strictly be dealing with bullying and learning about the different types of bullying ,however this organization is so much more then that, through this organization i have developed long lasting friendships, i have learned techniques to support someone being bullied, i have learned the importance of being a up-stander and this organization has helped to improve my leadership skills. Although i have never been bullied i do have the first hand experience standing up for someone that was being bullied so i do believe bullying is an issue that is very important, thankfully we have all the amazing people working with NVEEE that work tirelessly to make a difference in not only the community but the individuals. I'm looking forward to continuing working with this organization in all the future endeavors and i would encourage others to get involved by joining the Youth Advisory Council, becoming a donor, peace ambassador, or volunteering for different events .
NVEEE has helped me tremendously! Since finding the organization after being bullied myself, I have been able to meet so many new people and help others who are in the same situation I was once in. The NVEEE crew is unbelievably dedicated to making a difference and ending bullying nationwide. My interactions with this organization have shaped me into a better person and have taught me so much about myself and community.
The PALS conference is so amazing and life changing it's hard to describe in words. Not only have I learned about all aspects of bullying, I've learned to be an overall better person. On top of the learning, I have made friends for life at the conference and that's what it's about. It's truly great and the only way to really find out is to attend.
Amazing non-profit. Always available to help, listen, and making everyone feel like family. Safe. I love ENVEEE
After two years of being involved in the PALS conference, I have seen countless emotional transformations in the delegates. A group of strangers are thrown into this setting and within a week they are a family. It really changes youth from kids to advocates of change. PALS is able to do all this for one simple reason: it teaches people to understand each other. PALS shows life through many different lenses and creates an awareness of other peers' struggles and hardships. During open discussion, my eyes were brought to tears multiple times after hearing some of the unimaginable things such young teens struggle with. Sometimes you will learn that you are not alone and other times you will realize how lucky you are. But most importantly, you learn that everyone has a story hidden behind their faces and without knowing what they have been through, you cannot make any judgments. We all learn to understand and cherish our differences rather than discriminate. NVEEE has created a phenomenal program that really reaches out and prepares youth to spread this message of love and equality.
National Voices for Equality Education and Enlightenment (NVEEE) pours its heart and soul into every activity they do for social betterment. Unfortunately, there are nonprofit organizations that exist solely for the notoriety: They put on fancy shows, invite famous people, and change a lot of money to attend, so the participants have a lot of fun, but walk away with little substance. I can proudly, and honestly, say that NVEEE is the real deal: They put on activities that have a direct benefit for others, and those efforts are noticed and appreciated greatly. This is a group with great substance, and a great heart - headed by a powerfully intelligent person, Jowharah Sanders. This is a nonprofit that rises above the superficiality of others and deserves to be around for many decades to come.
I found myself in a very bad place throughout my high school years but in a time where I only had myself is when I truly found myself. I began volunteering through NVEEE in 2012. I am a Peace Ambassador and a Board Member of the Youth Advisory Council for NVEEE. I was also a Junior Staffer at PALS 2014 and volunteered at PALS 2015. Through all of my experiences at NVEEE, I have found that there is no better feeling than watching someone finally feel like they belong. Not only does NVEEE give you a sense of purpose, it gives you a lifelong home and a lifelong family.
I went to PALS with the intent to get away from home but ended up feeling more at home than ever with the wonderful and inspiring friends I made during it. NVEEE has a lot of resources and really helped me live a better live through the different workshops and presentations. Thank you!!
So where can I start.. My daughter has been involved with nveee since the very start. I as a parent figured it was a great organization for my child to be involved with. My daughter never had bullies per say but had times where sh felt as though she didn't fit in and nveee was a place she could come to and share her experiences and gain advice and new friends. She did a few school appearances with nveee to spread the word about bullying and share tips on how to prevent it. This program is simply amazing its such an informative and excellent program that really does go into the community and offer assistance on bully prevention and helps give students the tools they need to recognize bullying and also how to step in and help others who may need help but are to scared to speak up. This non profit is a crucial part of the community and has so much to offer !!!
This is one of the best non-profits that I have ever been in contact with.
Every summer NVEEE hosts an event called the Peace Ambassador Leadership Summit, or PALS for short, and it is a life altering experience. I attended in the summer of 2015 and plan to attend in the summer of 2016. In 2015 I went as a delegate, or an attending member. In the summer of 2016 I will be going as a jr. Staffer, or a camp counselor. This organization only choose the best leaders to run it based on leadership skills, friendliness, problem solving capabilities, and other characterizes that produce a great leader. The founders of this organization are extremely knowledgeable on what they do and save young people's lives on a daily bases. This is an amazing organization to be a part of.
I have been going to Pals for two years now and it was such an amazing experience for both myself and my peers. I was a delegate this past year and I am now a junior staffer. When you attend PALS, you get to meet and collaborate with people who love you and understand you and make you feel like a part of a big family! I remember this past summer, we did many exercises that made you connect and really open up and it helped me feel better about myself. PALS holds a really special place in my heart

I've been apart of pals for 2 years now as a junior staffer, and there's a few things I've noticed. 1. Pals is the place that sparks a growth and the kids. They may not see it right away but the kids are definitely changed in a positive way after their time with us.
2. I don't know how it's possible, but we all manage to become a family after such a small amount of time together.
3. Pals is a place where you learn you're not alone, and you learn that everyone is going through something.
