Mission: Our mission is to inform and educate the public about the Revolutionary War, to foster patriotism, to commemorate the Patriots and Nations who led & supported that War, and to celebrate the events that led to the founding and evolution of the United States of America.
Our outreach education programs support member activities within the education community and provide resources, along with implementation, that includes educational programs and hands-on activities.
The San Diego SAR News Magazine is published quarterly. News items include local Chapter activities and articles about America's heritage and patriotism. The purpose is educational and informational.
I have been associated with the Sons of the American Revolution for over four years. As a member, I see the excitement our young people have when they learn about the events that led to the founding of our country. Wherever our Color Guard appears, they get a lot of questions about what we do. It is VERY gratifying to work with and see how many ROTC and JROTC cadets are in the San Diego area alone. The work the SAR does is especially needed today because many of our schools are not able to provide much focus on Civics and American History.
