I have certified several dogs w/NSDA and have been very satisfied with their testing process. I also found the tests to be very realistic and left me feeling very prepared for real life searches.

The National Search Dog Alliance (NSDA) is a very reputable organization created for and by search and rescue canine handlers. It assists new handlers by mentoring and offering training opportunities. The experienced handler also has training opportunities but is also there to offer their expertise and pass on their knowledge of K-9 search and rescue.

NSDA's certifications are tops in canine SAR. The Alliance has worked to make the certification testing as true to life as possible. Handler/K-9 teams who pass NSDA's tests possess fundamental knowledge and expertise in canine search and rescue. They are field ready with the ability to successfully assist law enforcement, emergency management and the fire services with their search and rescue needs.

NSDA offers certifications in Area Search, Avalanche, Land Human Remains Detection, Trailing, Water Human Remains Detection and will soon offer Disaster First Responder.
