National Organization for Marriage is a propaganda organization that exists to spread lies about and animus towards gay and lesbian Americans. Its true purpose is not to promote marriage, but rather to prevent gay citizens from enjoying full rights. It has been labelled a hate group according the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks such groups in the United States. Its distortions and lies are well documented by many reputable organizations. This group should be avoided by all decent people, as there are better organizations to donate to if one is interested in furthering the case for marriage.
NOM is not a "hate group" as mentioned by those "typically" name calling from the anti-marriage groups. Their actions and communication reflect an appropriate method of discussion for a democratic republic that is supported by a constitution providing for majority rule instead of that by an elitist, anti-social, well-funded group of individuals in various levels of society/government attempting to force a selfish way of life on society through anti-democratic methods of misinformation, and an infringement of constitutionally provided rights in favor of rights that are "dreamed" as part of the constitution.
National Organization for Marriage is a fine organization that defends the family and faith traditions of the majority of Americans. They are well respected throughout the U.S. "Tolerant" gay activists label them haters because they oppose same-sex marriage.
